Yi I (Hangul: 이이; hanja: 李珥, December 26, 1536 – 1584) was one of the two most prominent Korean Confucian scholars of the Joseon Dynasty, the other being his older contemporary, Yi Hwang (Toegye). Yi I is often referred to by his pen name Yulgok ("Chestnut valley"). He is not only known as a scholar but also as a revered politician and reformer. He was academical successor of Jo Gwang-jo.
Yi I was born in Gangneung, Gangwon Province in 1536. His father was a Fourth State Councillor (jwachanseong 좌찬성) and his mother, Shin Saimdang, the accomplished artist and calligraphist. He was the grand nephew of Yi Gi, prime minister 1549 to 1551. early years he was learn of Baik In-geol, successor of Jo Gwang-jo. late years, It is said that by the age of seven he had finished his lessons in the Confucian classics, and passed the Civil Service literary examination at the age of 13. Yi I secluded himself in Kumgang-san following his mother's death when he was 16 and stayed for 3 years, studying Buddhism. He left the mountains at 20 and devoted himself to the study of Confucianism.
"(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone" is a rock song by Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart. It was first recorded by Paul Revere & the Raiders and appeared on their album Midnight Ride, released in May 1966.
The song is simple musically, with a repeating verse chord progression of E major, G major, A major and C major, and a repeating bridge in cut time of E major, G major, A major, and G major.
It is best known as a hit for The Monkees (US #20), released in November 1966, (making it the first Monkees B-side to chart). Musicians featured on the Monkees recording are: Micky Dolenz (lead vocal); Tommy Boyce (backing vocal); Wayne Erwin, Gerry McGee, and Louie Shelton (guitar); Bobby Hart (organ); Larry Taylor (bass); Billy Lewis (drums); and Henry Levy (percussion).
The Monkees' version differs between the single version, stereo album version and mono album version. In the stereo version, the track's title is sung just before the second verse, whereas on the single and mono album versions, this segment is left instrumental. Additionally, the stereo version has an edit in the fadeout. The mono album version does not have this edit and therefore has a longer coda. The single also does not have the edit, but it fades the song earlier than the mono album. All Monkees hits compilations through the mid-1990s used the stereo version.
Stepping stone may refer to:
The Monkees are an American rock band that released music in their original incarnation between 1965 and 1971, with subsequent reunion albums and tours in the decades that followed. They were formed in Los Angeles in 1965 by Bob Rafelson and Bert Schneider for the American television series The Monkees, which aired from 1966 to 1968. The musical acting quartet was composed of Americans Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork and Englishman Davy Jones. The band's music was initially supervised by producer Don Kirshner.
Dolenz described the Monkees as initially being "a TV show about an imaginary band ... that wanted to be the Beatles, [but] that was never successful". The actor-musicians, however, soon became a real band.
For the first few months of their initial five-year career as the Monkees, the four actor-musicians were allowed only limited roles in the recording studio. This was due in part to the amount of time required to film the television series. Nonetheless, Nesmith did compose and produce some songs from the beginning, and Peter Tork contributed limited guitar work on the sessions produced by Nesmith. They eventually fought for and earned the right to collectively supervise all musical output under the band's name. The sitcom was canceled in 1968, but the band continued to record music through 1971.
In geology, rock or stone is a naturally occurring solid aggregate of one or more minerals or mineraloids. For example, the common rock granite is a combination of the quartz, feldspar and biotite minerals. The Earth's outer solid layer, the lithosphere, is made of rock.
Rocks have been used by mankind throughout history. From the Stone Age, rocks have been used for tools. The minerals and metals found in rocks have been essential to human civilization.
Three major groups of rocks are defined: igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. The scientific study of rocks is called petrology, which is an essential component of geology.
At a granular level, rocks are composed of grains of minerals, which, in turn, are homogeneous solids formed from a chemical compound that is arranged in an orderly manner. The aggregate minerals forming the rock are held together by chemical bonds. The types and abundance of minerals in a rock are determined by the manner in which the rock was formed. Many rocks contain silica (SiO2); a compound of silicon and oxygen that forms 74.3% of the Earth's crust. This material forms crystals with other compounds in the rock. The proportion of silica in rocks and minerals is a major factor in determining their name and properties.
This is the Monkees 1966 hit single "Steppin' Stone" which I edited to match the full length single. This is my very first video project in which syncing the audio with the video was tricky.

If the Monkees and Paul Revere could do it, then so could the east London five-piece. Formally known as The Rebs and then In-Sect, Robin Hunt and the lads jumped on the Psych train, ending concerts by exploding flour all over their audiences whilst wearing grass skirts. Groovy!

The first recorded version and still the best version, from their 1966 album, "Midnight Ride." You can here the roots of punk right here. It's no wonder that it was covered by everyone from the Sex Pistols and Minor Threat, to Johnny Thunders, The Merton Parkas, State Of Alert/S.O.A.(Henry Rollins first band), Les Thugs(French Punk band), Vicious White Kids(Sid Vicious, Glen Matlock, Rat Scabies, Steve New), The Trashmen(early/mid 60s US garage punk band)and many more. Of course it was The Monkees who had a hit with it, and there version was good enough. But this version will always be the best.
Song: Stepping Stone Singer: Duffy Album: Rockferry LYRICS: I remember, way back, way back when I said I never wanna see your face again Cause you were loving, yes you loving someone else And I knew, yes I knew I could control myself And now they bring you back into my life again And so I put on a face just like your friends But I think you know, oh yes you know what's going on Cause the feelings of me, oh yes of me are burning strong But I will never be your stepping stone Take it all or leave me alone I will never be your stepping stone I'm standing up or I'm on my own You used to call me up from time to time And it would be so hard for me not to cross the line The words of love lay on my lips just like a curse And I knew, oh yes I knew it would only make it worse And now you have the n...

What’s the secret to forming a band that has been around for a decade, put out four releases, and shared stages with renowned musical acts including Kansas, Jefferson Starship, Outlaws, Lyle Lovett, Jason Isbell, and Rusted Root all by the age you can legally vote? One answer: start young. Hannah Wicklund (guitar/vocals), Justice Ian Jones (drums), and Andrew Ottimo (bass/vocals) began following their passion for music at ages when most kids still take afternoon naps. Hannah began taking piano lessons at age 3 and was entering classical music competitions by the age of 4. By kindergarten, her father gave her a book of Beatles cover songs, expanding her tastes from classical to classic rock. At age 6, she played her first show, performing Beatles covers with her brother, Luke Mitchell (also...
"A Place called Home" is a short prize-winning documentary film made during Spring 2012 by Oxford Brookes University Media Studies student Rory Ford. Me and my friend RTM decided to make a few special guest mixes for our channels. I made a Chillstep mix for RTM his channel, also known as RazorToothMusic, he made this Ambient mix for my channel. He is a nice colleague in promoting amazing producers like me. It was really nice to work together since we love the same types of music. More collaborations in the future? A good option! Please go support him: https://www.youtube.com/user/RazorToothMusic/ RTM loves ambient music, so he decided to try and create a story with every mix he makes in order to make it flow and to (hopefully) have the person listening be invested in the change of pace and mood instead of just having them listen to a bunch of random songs put together with no clear path. You can find the story in the comments down be...

[Werd:]
What are you like you say that it's shite
Like whenever I write they say aye right
But it's my life and here is a mic
So to be honest mate I will do what I like
I used to invest in some bars of weed
But these days these bars are like all I need
Some pubs and the clubs give my heart for the diamonds
Until I get the spade and I'm buried in the silence
Underground but I aim for the clouds
I got my feet on the ground well at least for now
I need bread got the yeast the now
I'm trying to heat it up a little or I'm trickling out
But every track every track is a stepping stone
I move past like fuck who I'm stepping on
I love the scene it's all peace don't get me wrong
But sometimes I feel it's all just a stepping stone
Maybe not maybe I was just getting stoned
Thinking about my life too much as I was getting on
Maybe I should call quits and just switch my tone
Maybe so but no cause this is home
And it's my life and this is my mic
So hear me out mate this is what I'm like
It's just a thought or maybe not
Thinking my CD was something to cop
See I thought people would start buying
Thought they would come to the shows stop lying
Thought they would show respect for me trying
Maybe next day see a new son rising
Things don't happen like that
Couple years later I'm still sat at the back
Still have to live while having the fact
I always been a fucking loser I just happen to rap
But every track every track is a stepping stone
I move past like fuck who I'm stepping on
As I jump to the next I get better known
But still ain't really shit that's why I moan
Like these guys don't even say nothing
Drugs and the guns then it's back to the fronting
I swear mate I should of see it coming
Fakes the new real if I quote Joe Budden
I roll my weed and put another bud in
Knock at my door and I go and let my bud in
Another day mate and all we do is nothing
I'm bored of this beef turn my back to the fronting
See raps full of zombies and I ain't dead yet
Killing UK cunts thinking it's Dead Set
Yes cause I dead sets ok now get set
Run tracks fuck rap this is the next step
Record on a PC it's still poor quality
But every time I do it it's still pure quality
Never take holiday one of my policies
Don't like the law so fuck what the police says
Putting up notices asking you to notice me
Just get my voice and my name so you know it's me
You want to slag great take a note of you
See you at a show with a blade and I'm poking you
Just joking mate I know it ain't fair though
I'm not in your circle so you ask me for square goes
If I had a gun shoot at clowns like some fair shows
Scotland stand up but I take a chair though
Cause people here first still act like it's their turf
Don't want the new kids like adoption at birth
It's like I'm adopting and plotting the worst
Thing to come out of Scotland since they heroin fucks
But every track every track is a stepping stone
I move past like fuck who I'm stepping on
If your offended by something I say
Then Say it to my face or get the fuck out the way
I went the fuck out the way just to make a CD
Done production and cutting you know it was me
All the pressing the stressing the artwork you see
Used to think ad just rap how blind could I be
I should of had CDs they got held back
That was? mate I can't help that
Who to deal with I wasn't telt that
I learn from mistakes I just hope that they shelf that
And this rap thing is killing me
Looking at the real like it really ain't real to me
Got to get a deal the day and that's what dealing with
But your so touchy you really ain't feeling me
So I write a verse start putting it down
Only for a bunch of cunts to start putting me down
It's like they was stupid to doubt
It's me and Deek mate we ain't needing you now
Cause every track every track is a stepping stone
