Akhenaten ( /ˌɑːkəˈnɑːtən/; also spelled Echnaton,Ikhnaton, and Khuenaten; meaning "living spirit of Aten") known before the fifth year of his reign as Amenhotep IV (sometimes given its Greek form, Amenophis IV, and meaning Amun is Satisfied), was a Pharaoh of the Eighteenth dynasty of Egypt who ruled for 17 years and died perhaps in 1336 BC or 1334 BC. He is especially noted for abandoning traditional Egyptian polytheism and introducing worship centered on the Aten, which is sometimes described as monotheistic or henotheistic. An early inscription likens the Aten to the sun as compared to stars, and later official language avoids calling the Aten a god, giving the solar deity a status above mere gods.
Akhenaten tried to bring about a departure from traditional religion, yet in the end it would not be accepted. After his death, traditional religious practice was gradually restored, and when some dozen years later rulers without clear rights of succession from the Eighteenth Dynasty founded a new dynasty, they discredited Akhenaten and his immediate successors, referring to Akhenaten himself as "the enemy" in archival records.

Plot: Filmed at numerous Egyptian temples and pyramids, at the site of Oracle of Delphi in Greece, and in the City of Moshiach, Jerusalem - THE THIRD TEMPLE is a loving homage to Kenneth Anger's Lucifer Rising. The ritualistic love power exchange between Pharaoh (in this case Akhenaten) and Queen (in this case Nefertiti) which was the crux of Lucifer Rising is supplanted by an embodiment of The Sacred Hermaphrodite enacting both roles against itself. THE THIRD TEMPLE is an inauguration of the coming reestablishment and rebuilding of King Solomon's Temple for the third time at the site of the current Dome of The Rock.

Plot: It is one of Egypt's enduring mysteries. What happened to Nefertiti and her husband, Akhenaten - the radical king, and likely father of King Tut? In a dark and mysterious tomb located in the Valley of the Kings, there is a small chamber with two mummies without sarcophagi or wrappings. At times, both have been identified as Queen Nefertiti by scholars, filmmakers and historians. But the evidence has been circumstantial at best.

Genres: Action, Adventure, Family, Fantasy,In the dawn's early light, I went out to the sun
I saw the sun rise over the land
I stretched my arms way out
Feeling the sun rays hitting my eyes
And I felt way out
I held my body in the shape of a cross
I was hypnotized
These were brand new feelings for me
Feeling my body in the shape of a cross
Feeling my body in the shape of a cross
And trying hard not to freak out
This is the lesson I've learned
I'm not afraid of the cross
And now whenever the sun shines
I stretch my arms way out
