Andy and Helen go into Lost Lovers Cave and get trapped when it almost collapses. Barney gets a bunch of people to save them. Andy and Helen find another way out of the cage, and realize what would happen, if they didn't find Andy and Helen trapped in the cave, so they decide to go back in the cave so Barney won't be made fun of.

Movie about cave rescue in Riesending Cave by Italian Cave Rescuers.
After 11 days 10 hours 14 minutes, a total of 274 hours Johann Westhauser was successfully rescued from the “Riesending” cave in 1000m depth. “This operation was only possible because the best of the Cave Rescues from Europe helped together here,” said Clemens Reindl, operations manager of the rescue.
A total of 202 cave rescuers were in operation in the cave, 175 of them from abroad, from Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Croatia. The successful rescue is due to them. They were supported by a total of 522 rescue workers in the field who have taken over the particular logistical services. There are also forces of fire, police and armed forces, which also have given the support with helicopters. I total round 1000 rescuers where in duty.

This compelling series recounting some of the most spectacular survival and rescue stories of recent years recalls a caving adventure in November 1999 that turned into a nightmare.
Lying near Gramat in southern France, the Vitarelles cave system is a natural labyrinth featuring a vast network of caverns and a 14- kilometre underground river. After months of careful planning, a team of seven men descended into the system, only for disaster to strike. Freak thunderstorms saw 62mm of rainfall in just 12 hours, causing the underground river to swell dramatically. The cave where the explorers were camped was completely flooded and their only escape route blocked. Clinging to their rafts as the water level gradually rose, their only option was to wait and hope. Meanwhile on the surface, immediate attempts at rescue were impossible until the waters began to recede. A team of experts led by Bernard Tourte and Guy Bariviera were eventually able to enter the cave system, but their efforts proved to no avail. After six days, the cavers' food supplies had run out and the situation had become desperate. The rescuers decided to drill a new entrance into the caves. This proved a tricky and time-consuming operation, but a breakthrough was eventually made. All seven cavers, who had been trapped underground for nine days, were brought out alive.

Cave rescue
Cave rescue is a highly specialized field of wilderness rescue in which injured, trapped or lost cave explorers are medically treated and extracted from various cave environments.
Cave rescue borrows elements from firefighting, confined space rescue, rope rescue and mountaineering techniques but has also developed its own special techniques and skills for performing work in conditions that are almost always difficult and demanding. Since cave accidents, on an absolute scale, are a very limited form of incident, and cave rescue is a very specialized skill, normal emergency staff are rarely employed in the underground elements of the rescue. Instead, this is usually undertaken by other experienced cavers who undergo regular training through their organizations and are called up at need.
Cave rescues are slow, deliberate operations that require both a high level of organized teamwork and good communications. The extremes of the cave environment (air temperature, water, vertical depth) dictate every aspect of a cave rescue. Therefore the rescuers must adapt skills and techniques that are as dynamic as the environment they must operate in.

Barney is made fun of by the town after he mistakes the owner of the Mayberry bank as a robber. Andy decides to cheer him up by taking him, Helen, and Thelma Lou on a picnic. Andy and Helen go into Lost Lovers Cave and get trapped when it almost collapses. Barney gets a bunch of people to save them. Andy and Helen find another way out of the cage, and realize what would happen, if they didn't find Andy and Helen trapped in the cave, so they decide to go back in the cave so Barney won't be made fun of.

After 11 days 10 hours 14 minutes, a total of 274 hours Johann Westhauser was successfully rescued from the “Riesending” cave in 1000m depth. “This operation was only possible because the best of the Cave Rescues from Europe helped together here,” said Clemens Reindl, operations manager of the rescue.
A total of 202 cave rescuers were in operation in the cave, 175 of them from abroad, from Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Croatia. The successful rescue is due to them. They were supported by a total of 522 rescue workers in the field who have taken over the particular logistical services. There are also forces of fire, police and armed forces, which also have given the support with helicopters. I total round 1000 rescuers where in duty.

This compelling series recounting some of the most spectacular survival and rescue stories of recent years recalls a caving adventure in November 1999 that turned into a nightmare.
Lying near Gramat in southern France, the Vitarelles cave system is a natural labyrinth featuring a vast network of caverns and a 14- kilometre underground river. After months of careful planning, a team of seven men descended into the system, only for disaster to strike. Freak thunderstorms saw 62mm of rainfall in just 12 hours, causing the underground river to swell dramatically. The cave where the explorers were camped was completely flooded and their only escape route blocked. Clinging to their rafts as the water level gradually rose, their only option was to wait and hope. Meanwhile on the surface, immediate attempts at rescue were impossible until the waters began to recede. A team of experts led by Bernard Tourte and Guy Bariviera were eventually able to enter the cave system, but their efforts proved to no avail. After six days, the cavers' food supplies had run out and the situation had become desperate. The rescuers decided to drill a new entrance into the caves. This proved a tricky and time-consuming operation, but a breakthrough was eventually made. All seven cavers, who had been trapped underground for nine days, were brought out alive.
