Eric Garth Hudson (born August 2, 1937) is a Canadian multi-instrumentalist. As the organist, keyboardist and saxophonist for Canadian-American rock group the Band, he was a principal architect of the group's unique sound. Hudson has been called "the most brilliant organist in the rock world" by Keyboard magazine.
A master of the Lowrey organ, Hudson's orchestral tone sense and style anticipated many of the sonic advances of the polyphonic synthesizer. His other primary instruments are piano, electronic keyboards, tenor saxophone, soprano saxophone and accordion. He has been a much-in-demand and respected session musician, performing with dozens of artists and earning the accolades of many, including Elton John, who has cited him as an early influence. He also plays in a duo with his wife, Maud (known as Sister Maud), and in 2002 joined his friend Sneaky Pete Kleinow in Burrito Deluxe, an offshoot of the Flying Burrito Brothers.
Recorded by Garth Hudson in 1967, The Basement Tapes Complete was released by Sony Music/Legacy Recordings on November 4, 2014. The collaboration between Bob Dylan and the Band is Volume 11 of Dylan's Bootleg Series and includes 138 tracks on six CDs. In addition, a 38-track version entitled The Basement Tapes Raw was released on two CDs or three LPs.

Stage Fright is the third studio album by Canadian-American group The Band released in 1970. Much more of a rock album than its predecessors, it was a departure from their previous two efforts in that its tone was darker and featured less of the harmony vocal blend that had been a centerpiece of those two albums. It also included the last two recordings by The Band of new songs credited to pianist Richard Manuel; both were co-written with guitarist Robbie Robertson, who would continue to be the group's dominant lyricist until the group disbanded in 1976. Nonetheless, the tradition of switching instruments that had begun on the previous album continued here, with each musician contributing instrumental parts on at least two different instruments. The booklet alludes to the fact that Levon H...

Comprised of Rick Danko, Levon Helm, Garth Hudson, Richard Manuel and Robbie Robertson, The Band's self-titled sophomore effort spent 24 weeks in the Billboard Top 40. The album was released at a time when the US album charts were taken over by the psychedelic rock movement, and despite this, the album had the aforementioned chart success and would go on to sell over one million copies. This edition of the "Classic Albums" series focuses on The Band's follow-up to "MUSIC FROM BIG PINK". Featuring classics such as "Up On Cripple Creek", "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down", and "Rag Mama Rag", the story of the album is told through interviews with surviving members of The Band, fellow musicians Eric Clapton, Don Was, and George Harrison, and vintage footage. The Band is a classic album!

(HQ digital stereo remaster) The Call were an underrated band and whose presence on YT is a mishmash of uploads of varying quality. So I have given all five clips by The Call the stereomusicvideo treatment to give them the quality they deserve. This is The Call's first ever clip, the first single from their 1983 album "Modern Romans". This clip was directed by Patrick Kriwanek and produced by Juanita Diana and Micheal Feeny of Video Caroline and was filmed in an underground water pumping station in San Francisco. It generated a bit of buzz when released because it features Garth Hudson (ex The Band) on keyboards. It also shows images of Garth's son (when he was about 3 years old) and his father-in-law. Vale Michael Been (1950-2010).
The Band was a rock music group active from 1967 to 1976 and again from 1983 to 1999. The original group (19671976) consisted of four Canadians: Robbie Robertson (guitar, piano, vocals); Richard Manuel (piano, harmonica, drums, saxophone, organ, vocals); Garth Hudson (organ, piano, clavinet, accordion, synthesizer, saxophone); and Rick Danko (bass guitar, violin, trombone, vocals), and one American, Levon Helm (drums, mandolin, guitar, bass guitar, vocals). The members of the Band first came together as they joined rockabilly singer Ronnie Hawkins' backing group, The Hawks, one by one between 1958 and 1963. Upon leaving Hawkins in 1964, they were known as The Levon Helm Sextet (the sixth member being sax player Jerry Penfound), then Levon and the Hawks (without Penfound). In 1965, they re...
