Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domènech, Marqués de Dalí de Pubol (11 May 1904 – 23 January 1989), known as Salvador Dalí (Catalan: [səɫβəˈðo ðəˈɫi]; Spanish: [salβaˈðoɾ ðaˈli]), was a prominent Spanish surrealist painter born in Figueres, Catalonia, Spain.
Dalí was a skilled draftsman, best known for the striking and bizarre images in his surrealist work. His painterly skills are often attributed to the influence of Renaissance masters. His best-known work, The Persistence of Memory, was completed in August 1931. Dalí's expansive artistic repertoire included film, sculpture, and photography, in collaboration with a range of artists in a variety of media.
Dalí attributed his "love of everything that is gilded and excessive, my passion for luxury and my love of oriental clothes" to an "Arab lineage", claiming that his ancestors were descended from the Moors.
Dalí was highly imaginative, and also enjoyed indulging in unusual and grandiose behavior. His eccentric manner and attention-grabbing public actions sometimes drew more attention than his artwork, to the dismay of those who held his work in high esteem, and to the irritation of his critics.
Mondeuse noire is a red French wine grape variety that is grown primarily in the Savoy region of eastern France. The grape can also be found in Argentina, Australia, California, Switzerland and Sicily. Plantings of Mondeuse noire was hit hard during the phylloxera epidemic of the mid to late 19th century which nearly wiped out the vine from eastern France. While the grape recovered slightly in the 20th century, French plantations of Mondeuse noire fell sharply in the 1970s, with just over 200 hectares (490 acres) left in France in 2000. In the early 21st century, it seems the variety has increased somewhat in popularity, as it can give good wines if the planting site is chosen carefully.
It was previously suggested than Mondeuse noire was identical to the northern Italian wine grape variety Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso due to the similarity of the wines. In California, many plantings of Mondeuse noire were called Refosco, further adding to the confusion. DNA analysis has shown that this is not the case, and that the two varieties are unrelated. Mondeuse noire is very similar to Muscardin which is found in Southern Rhône where it is one of the thirteen grape varieties permitted in the wine Châteauneuf-du-Pape. One difference is that Muscardin has less sensitivity to downy mildew.
Jean-Christophe (1904‒1912) is the novel in 10 volumes by Romain Rolland for which he received the Prix Femina in 1905 and the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1915. It was translated into English by Gilbert Cannan.
The first four volumes are sometimes grouped as Jean-Christophe, the next three as Jean-Christophe à Paris, and the last three as La fin du voyage ("Journey's End").
The English translations appeared between 1911 and 1913.
The central character, Jean-Christophe Krafft, is a German musician of Belgian extraction, a composer of genius whose life is depicted from cradle to grave. He undergoes great hardships and spiritual struggles, balancing his pride in his own talents with the necessity of earning a living and taking care of those around him. Tormented by injustices against his friends, forced to flee on several occasions as a result of his brushes with authority and his own conscience, he finally finds peace in a remote corner of Switzerland before returning in triumph to Paris a decade later.

Salvador Dali "I'm Not a Good Painter" Interview. Dali says that he isn't a good a painter because he is intelligent.
I added english subtitles to the original interview of Salvador Dalí by spanish journalist Soler Serrano in 1977, that can be seen in the channel of user "pakoentrevistas1". I do not own the copyright of this video. I just thought the rest of the world should have the chance to understand it. Excuse any mistakes as translating Dalí is not easy at all: "Sows crossing untamable viscosities..." Ehem ehem. Also I'd like to honour Soler Serrano who died few weeks ago, as he was an interviewer capable of being at the same level as the interviewed -see his interview with Camilo José Cela or Borges-. That's not easy either.
Second part of Salvador Dali's interview with Mike Wallace. Dali the surrealist Spanish genius talks about his life and work!

We're Geyly Yet
(Robert Burns)
We're geyly yet, we're geyly yet,
We're no' very fu' but we're geyly yet!
So sit ye doon and tipple a while,
We're no' very fu' but we're geyly yet.
cho:
So up wi'it, up wi' it Aylie O
Up wi'it, up wi' it Aylie O.
Up wi' it Aylie, up wi'it Aylie
And we'll a' get roarin' fu'.
There were three lads and they were clad
There were three lasses and them they had,
Three trees in the orchard are new sprung,
For we's got gear enough we's but young.
Rin Jock Tamson, ye maun rin;
Gin ye never ran in your life !
There's a man wi' his hand in your neal pock,
And anither in bed wi' your wife !
Then Jock Tamson he did rin,
And he ran wi' muckle speed,
But before he'd got the half o' his length
The loon had done his deed.
