Yankee Stadium is a stadium, used mainly for baseball and soccer, located in The Bronx, New York City. It is the home ballpark for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB) and the home stadium for New York City FC of Major League Soccer (MLS). The $2.3 billion stadium, built with $1.2 billion in public subsidies, replaced the original Yankee Stadium. It is one block north of the original, on the 24-acre former site of Macombs Dam Park; the 8-acre site of the original stadium is now a public park called Heritage Field. The first game at the new Yankee Stadium was a preseason exhibition game against the Chicago Cubs on April 3, 2009; the Yankees won, 7–4. The first regular-season game was played on April 16, a 10–2 Yankee loss to the Cleveland Indians.
The stadium incorporates replicas of some design elements from the original Yankee Stadium. Although stadium construction began in August 2006, the project spanned many years and faced many controversies, including the high public cost and the loss of public parkland. The overall price tag makes the new Yankee Stadium the most expensive stadium ever built.
June 7, 2016 was a weird day for me at Yankee Stadium. Normally I get most of my balls here by catching home runs during batting practice, but at this particular game, I got lots of toss-ups from the Angels, including Albert Pujols and Mike Trout. And Jered Weaver. And Jhoulys Chacin and coach Dino Ebel. For more details about this game, read my blog entry about it: http://zackhample.mlblogs.com/2016/07/13/6716-at-yankee-stadium/ Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe!

It's been five years since legendary Yankee Stadium was demolished after serving as home to the New York Yankees for 85 years. National Geographic was there throughout the demolition process. This clip includes a condensed version of the piece-by-piece destruction. Authorities could not "blow up" the stadium because of its close proximity to residences and active rail lines. The full demolition took over a year. Subscribe for more National Geographic videos: http://goo.gl/utTCAg
A man proposing to his girlfriend loses the engagement ring, prompting a search for it at Yankee Stadium. It is eventually found and the proposal goes on as planned as the crowd at the Red Sox-Yankees game goes wild.
In "Swing And A Miss: Everything Wrong With The New Yankee Stadium", a 15-year old baseball fan details all of the ridiculous aspects of the New York Yankees' new ballpark.
On June 27, 2016, the game at Yankee Stadium was delayed in the 9th inning for three hours and 35 minutes. Not surprisingly, when play resumed well after 2am, there weren't many fans left. This is just a quick video to show how empty it was. Also, yes, I'm aware that this was a very tough loss for the Yankees. They were winning by one run before the delay, but then it all fell apart when the Rangers put up a four-spot in the top of the 9th. As I've said many times, I'm just a baseball fan -- not a fan of any particular team -- so that's why I was still able to appreciate the moment and enjoy myself. No disrespect intended to the Yankees or their fans!
