Nakina was first established in 1923 as a station and railway yard on the National Transcontinental Railway, between the divisional points of Grant and Armstrong. Nakina was at Mile 15.9 of the NTR's Grant Sub-Division. Following the completion in 1924 of Canadian National Railways's Longlac-Nakina Cut-Off, connecting the rails of the Canadian Northern at Longlac and the NTR, Nakina became the new divisional point, and the buildings from the town of Grant (25 kilometers to the east) were moved to the new Nakina town site.

Some trackside footage from a recent ops session at the CN Caramat & Kinghorn subs layout. Highlights included: - Scott Kuhn's custom kit bashed Canadian Pacific GP20C-ECO with 19 SMD LED lights on it pulling his maintenance of way train. It also had great looking homemade ballast loads and a very cool Custom Finishing models Fairmont tie picker with working headlights and amber flashing beacon. I should note for some reason my camera makes the running lights on the ECO unit look very blue. They definitely are not that blue in person... - Got to put some miles on my new sulphur train which ran flawlessly out of the boxes on the layout. With the vast majority of cars having the NARC semi scale wheels, that's definitely a testament to the quality of the track work on this layout. Forgot ...
A feature video of my September 2016 trip to Echoing Lake Camp in far northwestern Ontario. Located 500 kilometers north of Sioux Lookout near the Manitoba border, Echoing is easily the furthest north operating camp within the province. Its waters have rarely been fished, and the surrounding lakes accessible by camp float plane are still unknown. They have yet to be fished by anyone! We had astounding fishing for incredible numbers of lake trout, trophy northern pike, and as many walleyes as we wanted. Future guests will experience the trip of a lifetime with the opportunity to explore lakes that that are truly virgin. www.echoinglake.com
Amazing! Definitely coming back!!! C. Yong, Toronto, ON So much fun! Great tour with a great guide! T. Pithawala, Ajax, ON
Visit the Greenstone region of Northwestern Ontario for trophy fishing. All the popular species including walleye, northern pike, brook trout and lake trout are found in this region. Trophy fishing abounds in the Greenstone region of Ontario.
My crew and I visited Blackmur's Otherside River Lodge in late June 2016 and enjoyed a stellar trip! All told we landed 48 giant pike over 40" in length and hundreds of girthy lake trout including six that were in excess of 40". Those are huge lakers! A 40" fish is pushing 30 ponds and the largest we caught taped out at an incredible 45"! Truly an unbelievable trip! www.canadafishingguide.net

Driving along the TransCanada number 17 up towards Thunderbay
I'm waiting for a service, waiting in vain.
She's waiting on another man, No one drank again.
She flashed me the menu, working smell on her lips.
Led me just enough. I shouldn't have tipped.
I say 'well', the food there was crap.
The other one there, I didn't give two glances.
She's in love with my soul - She think's I'm attractive.
She forraged a smile, I saw the floor.
She tried again, I examined the ashtray.
I say 'well'.
