BUSINESS CLASS Ticket For The Price Of ECONOMY
Forget back of the bus, cattle or economy class, a boutique airline company in France has launched an exclusively all-business class flights at comparatively budget prices.
Trying to make business class more accessible to everyone, French airline La Compagnie offers passengers a round trip from Paris to New York for just £945 (€1200) - more than £2000 cheaper than the same trip with Air France.
Launched by L'Avion founder Frantz Yvelin and former Swissair and JetAirways COO Peter Luethi in July, the company sets to bring business class service 'back to where it belongs.' Welcome on board: The La Compagnie team on board the luxury aircraft with budget prices
'With French style and American dependability, La Compagnie will become the choice of the current generation of hard-working business travelers who demand something more from air transportation' says Yvelin.
The airline's website states that their promise 'is for those who want to enjoy and exclusive business-class cabin at a smart price'
La Compagnie will operate a fleet of redesigned Boeing 757-200 aircraft, with 74 seats, that recline 180 degrees, set in a 2x2 formation throughout the aircraft On board there is complimentary wi-fi and all passengers will be provided with personal Samsung tablets loaded with a range of films, music, books and magazines.
On board, menus have been devised by Christophe Langree, the Michelin-starred chef at Hotel Matignon in Paris and amenity kits are by expensive cosmetic brand Caudalie.

The launch of La Compagnie's flights follows the announcement that newly created Odyssey Airlines is to start all-business-class flights between London City Airport and New York from 2016.
British Airways already offers all-business-class flights on that route and Qatar Airways all-business-class flights between London and Doha began this summer. The Hotel Detective has to give this to Frantz Yvelin, the founder and CEO of the new business-class-only airline La Compagnie, currently flying a B757 six times a week between Newark and Paris Charles de Gaulle: He speaks plainly.
“Is La Compagnie the best business class in the sky?” he says at one point over lunch in Paris at Faust Pont Alexandre III, which opened in August. “No. I don’t pretend that. Call Etihad,” he concludes, referring to the Middle Eastern carrier known for splurging on its premium cabins. In particular, La Compagnie’s seats (above) are better. They are not flat beds, but “angle-flats,” which means that when reclined, the body of the seat is flat, but slanted. If you’ve ever wanted to have the feeling like you’re on your very own jet, Quantas is the way to go with your own privacy pod that comes with its own suite, as well as a common area for wealthy passengers to get together and mingle. This can be all yours for $13,500.
Ever wanted to know what it’s like to be tucked into bed by a flight attendant? Well, Singapore Airlines does just that. You’re immediately given pajamas that are designed by Givenchy, and toiletries by Ferragamo. Your seat can also be transformed into a fluffy bed, where the flight attendants will see to it that you’re tucked in and comfy. Tickets for this experience starts at $15,000.
For $25,000, you can have the ultimate first class experience with Cathay Pacific Airlines, where you can have your own pod. This includes a chair that silently transforms into a full length bed. The pod is also adorned with a vase with orchids, so you feel a bit more at home and close to nature. Lufthansa has taken the first class game and improved it. Not only do you get a big comfy chair, but you get a bed as well. The chair is pumped with gadgets as well for your enjoyment. You don’t even have to worry about breathing dry air, as the cabin is pumped with a humidifier. Tickets for this experience starts at $27,000.
Finally, these last two airlines are basically like flying hotel rooms. Emirates Airlines offers a private cabin with a mini bar, adjustable lighting, as well as a full shower with a marble sink. So if you really need to freshen up, it’s a lot better than the tiny bathroom in coach. They even have a communal lounge where you can enjoy drinks and hors d’ouerves. All of this can be yours for $30,000. Finally, we have Etihad Airways, who have diamond first class suites with three room cabins. These cabins also include a full size bathroom with a luxurious shower. You can even have your own butler! What’s the cost? $43,000.

This is the first review of 4 aboard Emirates Airlines in Business Class, whole trip was Zurich-Dubai-Seychelles and back! This video reviews the ZRH-DXB leg on the A380!
The business class on Emirates A380 is one of the best out there, among Singapores and other premium carrier C classes. The seat is great and you get a lot of privacy, all seats have aisle access and are featured with several nice features, like the minibar or a great amount of touchscreens ;) But have a look yourself in the report!
The crew of my flight was amazing, really cared for every passenger. I don't know how it was in economy but I had my personal FA who pampered me really good! :)
The food was awesome too, very good quality and wheew I was filled up pretty good!

Business class
Business class is a travel class available on many commercial airlines and rail lines, known by brand names which vary by airline or rail company. In the airline industry, it was originally intended as an intermediate level of service between economy class and first class, but many airlines now offer business class as the highest level of service, having eliminated first class seating. Business class is distinguished from other travel classes by the quality of seating, food, drinks, ground service and other amenities. Full business class is usually denoted 'J' or 'C' with schedule flexibility, but can be many other letters depending on circumstances.

Airlines began separating full-fare and discounted economy class passengers in the late 1970s. In 1976, KLM introduced a Full Fare Facilities (FFF) service for its full fare economy class passengers, which allowed them to sit at the front of the economy cabin immediately behind first class, and this concept was quickly copied by several other airlines including Air Canada. Both United Airlines and Trans World Airlines experimented with a similar three-class concept in 1978, but abandoned it due to negative reactions from discount economy class travelers who felt that amenities were being taken away from them. United also cited the difficulty of tracking which passengers should be seated in which section of the economy cabin on connecting flights.American Airlines also began separating full-fare economy passengers from discounted economy passengers in 1978, and offered open middle seats for full-fare passengers.

This is the first review of 4 aboard Emirates Airlines in Business Class, whole trip was Zurich-Dubai-Seychelles and back! This video reviews the ZRH-DXB leg on the A380! The business class on Emirates A380 is one of the best out there, among Singapores and other premium carrier C classes. The seat is great and you get a lot of privacy, all seats have aisle access and are featured with several nice features, like the minibar or a great amount of touchscreens ;) But have a look yourself in the report! The crew of my flight was amazing, really cared for every passenger. I don't know how it was in economy but I had my personal FA who pampered me really good! :) The food was awesome too, very good quality and wheew I was filled up pretty good! Please enjoy! Launched by L'Avion founder Frantz Yvelin and former Swissair and JetAirways COO Peter Luethi in July, the company sets to bring business class service 'back to where it belongs.' Welcome on board: The La Compagnie team on board the luxury aircraft with budget prices
'With French style and American dependability, La Compagnie will become the choice of the current generation of hard-working business travelers who demand something more from air transportation' says Yvelin.
The airline's website states that their promise 'is for those who want to enjoy and exclusive business-class cabin at a smart price'
La Compagnie will operate a fleet of redesigned Boeing 757-200 aircraft, with 74 seats, that recline 180 degrees, set in a 2x2 formation throughout the aircraft On board there is complimentary wi-fi and all passengers will be provided with personal Samsung tablets loaded with a range of films, music, books and magazines.
On board, menus have been devised by Christophe Langree, the Michelin-starred chef at Hotel Matignon in Paris and amenity kits are by expensive cosmetic brand Caudalie.

The launch of La Compagnie's flights follows the announcement that newly created Odyssey Airlines is to start all-business-class flights between London City Airport and New York from 2016.
British Airways already offers all-business-class flights on that route and Qatar Airways all-business-class flights between London and Doha began this summer. The Hotel Detective has to give this to Frantz Yvelin, the founder and CEO of the new business-class-only airline La Compagnie, currently flying a B757 six times a week between Newark and Paris Charles de Gaulle: He speaks plainly.
“Is La Compagnie the best business class in the sky?” he says at one point over lunch in Paris at Faust Pont Alexandre III, which opened in August. “No. I don’t pretend that. Call Etihad,” he concludes, referring to the Middle Eastern carrier known for splurging on its premium cabins. In particular, La Compagnie’s seats (above) are better. They are not flat beds, but “angle-flats,” which means that when reclined, the body of the seat is flat, but slanted. American and Air France also use angle-flat seats in business class on NY-Paris, and to THD, it seemed that La Compagnie’s is not slanted as steeply as American’s. (THD has always had to wedge himself into AA’s seat to keep from sliding down, and there are plenty of online complaints about the Air France seat in this regard

This is the first review of 4 aboard Emirates Airlines in Business Class, whole trip was Zurich-Dubai-Seychelles and back! This video reviews the ZRH-DXB leg on the A380!
The business class on Emirates A380 is one of the best out there, among Singapores and other premium carrier C classes. The seat is great and you get a lot of privacy, all seats have aisle access and are featured with several nice features, like the minibar or a great amount of touchscreens ;) But have a look yourself in the report!
The crew of my flight was amazing, really cared for every passenger. I don't know how it was in economy but I had my personal FA who pampered me really good! :)
The food was awesome too, very good quality and wheew I was filled up pretty good!

Contemporary pop hits were played during the boarding process, making it a very welcoming ambience onboard. The flight itself is quite smooth even if the seatbelt sign is lit up a few times. The Cebu Pacific Air cabin crew are polite and cheerful. My pre-ordered meal didn't disappoint in taste though the portion of rice seems overwhelming! THAI has also resumed its network expansion with the resumption of flights to Brussels, in addition to a new non-stop flight from Copenhagen to Phuket. At the same time, the Greek debt crisis caused THAI to suspend its services to Athens.
As part of THAI's broader growth strategy in the region, THAI launched a regional carrier with light-premium services, Thai Smile which operate narrow-bodied Airbus A320-200 on regional and domestic routes. The new airline initiated commercial operations in July 2012, after its first A320s were received.
THAI expects to be the first carrier in Asia to fly commercial flights using biofuels. The carrier launched the initiative with experimental flights in December 2011 as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program, otherwise known as "Travel Green." THAI hopes to stimulate sustained biofuel production in Thailand by working with Thai government agencies and regional corporate partners, such as PTT Public Company Limited. The effort aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in regional air travel as well as position Thailand to be the "bio hub" of Asia.
The Airbus A380 is a double-deck, wide-body, four-engine jet airliner manufactured by Airbus. It is the world's largest passenger airliner, and the airports at which it operates have upgraded facilities to accommodate it. It was initially named Airbus A3XX and designed to challenge Boeing's monopoly in the large-aircraft market. The A380 made its first flight on 27 April 2005 and entered commercial service in October 2007 with Singapore Airlines.
The A380's upper deck extends along the entire length of the fuselage, with a width equivalent to a wide-body aircraft. This gives the A380-800's cabin 478 square metres (5,145.1 sq ft) of usable floor space, 40% more than the next largest airliner, the Boeing 747-8, and provides seating for 525 people in a typical three-class configuration or up to 853 people in an all-economy class configuration. The A380-800 has a design range of 8,500 nautical miles (15,700 km), sufficient to fly nonstop from Dallas to Sydney, and a cruising speed of Mach 0.85 (about 900 km/h, 560 mph or 490 kn at cruising altitude).

As said a bit earlier in part I United was changing the rules of it's frequent flyer program so the ideal moment to book a free ticket, and wen it's free... why not do it in style? Therefore I opted to fly on 2 different airlines! One of them was Lufthansa, Having the addition of them using the Airbus A340-600 on the Munich-Charlotte route was more than reason enough to take the route! Unfortunaly it was the older Business class seats, but if you are used to Economy, everything in the pointy end will do ;)
Munich Departure 80%
Munich is one of my favorite European airport to transfer/depart/arrive in. Very efficient and smooth, and in case of a long transfer their is plenty to do! Albeit my only complaint was that it was VERY HOT in the terminal!
Lufthansa German Airlines Lounge: 75%
Since I had a 4,5 hour layover I had the chance to sample the shengen and the non shengen lounges! I really liked the breakfast options and the spaciousness of it! the non shengen lounge was a bit less, it was very crowded and hard to find a seat
Aircraft Appearence: 70%
Aircraft was well used, and not so proper cleaned. Crumbs and scratches on the seats where to be found
Seat comfort: 50%
Due to sensor problem I could not move the seat at all! Problem could not be solved by the crew! Thankfully there where a few empty seats, but in case the flight was full (and I was actually paying for this trip) I would be pretty pissed of
Crew: 90%
As my Brussels to Munich flight out crew was very loose and easygoing, really engaged conversations with pax! Our purser was excellent trying her best with the seat issue, and a great sense of humor ;)
IFE: 80%
Lufthansaworld is a very simple and easy to navigate, only good things can be said
Catering: 80%
Both lunch and snack service was good and tasted fresh, The veal and pasta where excellent and so was the soup and salad, small portion but a good refreshment!
Charlotte Arrival: 70%
At the time of our arrival we came in together with a US Airways A330 from Rome and Paris which where packed as well! the CBP at Charlotte wasn't made for this volume of traffic, albeit the huge crowd everything went efficiently and in well time :)
Overall verdict: 75%
Sampling Lufthansa's old Business class seating was Ok! I'm not complaining as it was on a free ticket and that I usually don't have the oppertunity to sit up there. However if we would have had a full flight and I was paying the full price I would not have been to happy about the seat issue! Thankfully a good software product compensates an average hardware product, this crew was very friendly and really enjoying their day at work. Catering was good as well!
