WARNING: The song get's kind of loud at around 0:14 so you might not want to set your volume too high.
So I'm about 5 years late with this cover (I actually just recently finished the first season of K-ON). The song is pretty simple, so I tried to add some nice variations and techniques that I haven't used before.
I've also found a camera angle that I like, although it'd be nice if my head wasn't in the way. The video seems to be a little blurry for some reason, I'm not sure why since the other video I did today wasn't as blurry and it was taken from the same spot.
I have 2 uploads today and then I'm probably done until January unless I get some sort of random inspiration. The sheets for all the past uploads should be up soon.

I found this old vinyl album from the Design Records label (DLP 226). I have been unable to locate any information about The Merlin Trio (guitar, organ, accordion) and there is no information on the jacket. I suspect that they may all have been studio musicians who were hired to make budget recordings for the label. Around the same time that this record was made, Ken Griffin recorded several albums called "The Magic Fingers of Merlin" and one of them was for Design Records which was a division of Pickwick Records in NYC.

Guitar
The guitar is a popular musical instrument classified as a string instrument with anywhere from 4 to 18 strings, usually having 6. The sound is projected either acoustically or through electrical amplification (for an acoustic guitar or an electric guitar, respectively). It is typically played by strumming or plucking the strings with the right hand while fretting (or pressing against the frets) the strings with the fingers of the left hand. The guitar is a type of chordophone, traditionally constructed from wood and strung with either gut, nylon or steel strings and distinguished from other chordophones by its construction and tuning. The modern guitar was preceded by the gittern, the vihuela, the four-course Renaissance guitar, and the five-course baroque guitar, all of which contributed to the development of the modern six-string instrument.
There are three main types of modern acoustic guitar: the classical guitar (nylon-string guitar), the steel-string acoustic guitar, and the archtop guitar. The tone of an acoustic guitar is produced by the strings's vibration, amplified by the body of the guitar, which acts as a resonating chamber. The classical guitar is often played as a solo instrument using a comprehensive finger-picking technique. The term "finger-picking" can also refer to a specific tradition of folk, blues, bluegrass, and country guitar playing in the United States.

Mania
Mania is the mood of an abnormally elevated arousal energy level, or "a state of heightened overall activation with enhanced affective expression together with lability of affect." Although mania is often conceived as a “mirror image” to depression, the heightened mood can be either euphoric or irritable; indeed, as the mania worsens, irritability often becomes more pronounced and may eventuate in violence.
The nosology of the various stages of a manic episode has changed over the decades. The word derives from the Greek μανία (mania), "madness, frenzy" and the verb μαίνομαι (mainomai), "to be mad, to rage, to be furious".
In current DSM-5 nomenclature, hypomanic episodes are separated from the more severe full manic episodes, which, in turn, are characterized as either mild, moderate, or severe, with specifiers with regard to certain symptomatic features (e.g., catatonic, psychotic). Mania, however, may be divided into three stages: hypomania, or stage I; acute mania, or stage II; and delirious mania, or stage III. This “staging” of a manic episode is, in particular, very useful from a descriptive and differential diagnostic point of view.

WARNING: The song get's kind of loud at around 0:14 so you might not want to set your volume too high. So I'm about 5 years late with this cover (I actually just recently finished the first season of K-ON). The song is pretty simple, so I tried to add some nice variations and techniques that I haven't used before. I've also found a camera angle that I like, although it'd be nice if my head wasn't in the way. The video seems to be a little blurry for some reason, I'm not sure why since the other video I did today wasn't as blurry and it was taken from the same spot. I have 2 uploads today and then I'm probably done until January unless I get some sort of random inspiration. Sweet And Gentle Music for Dancing by the Merlin Trio Side B: There Will Never B Another You, We Three, Drifting and Dreaming, It's been a Long Long Time, Serenade of the Bells, Martha I found this old vinyl album from the Design Records label (DLP 226). I have been unable to locate any information about The Merlin Trio (guitar, organ, accordion) and there is no information on the jacket. I suspect that they may all have been studio musicians who were hired to make budget recordings for the label. Around the same time that this record was made, Ken Griffin recorded several albums called "The Magic Fingers of Merlin" and one of them was for Design Records which was a division of Pickwick Records in NYC.

K-ON! ED | Don't Say Lazy| Piano Cover
WARNING: The song get's kind of loud at around 0:14 so you might not want to set your volume too high. So I'm about 5 years late with this cover (I actually just recently finished the first season of K-ON). The song is pretty simple, so I tried to add some nice variations and techniques that I haven't used before. I've also found a camera angle that I like, although it'd be nice if my head wasn't in the way. The video seems to be a little blurry for some reason, I'm not sure why since the other video I did today wasn't as blurry and it was taken from the same spot. I have 2 uploads today and then I'm probably done until January unless I get some sort of random inspiration. Sweet And Gentle Music for Dancing by the Merlin Trio Side B: There Will Never B Another You, We Three, Drifting and Dreaming, It's been a Long Long Time, Serenade of the Bells, Martha I found this old vinyl album from the Design Records label (DLP 226). I have been unable to locate any information about The Merlin Trio (guitar, organ, accordion) and there is no information on the jacket. I suspect that they may all have been studio musicians who were hired to make budget recordings for the label. Around the same time that this record was made, Ken Griffin recorded several albums called "The Magic Fingers of Merlin" and one of them was for Design Records which was a division of Pickwick Records in NYC.

So I'm about 5 years late with this cover (I actually just recently finished the first season of K-ON). The song is pretty simple, so I tried to add some nice variations and techniques that I haven't used before.
I've also found a camera angle that I like, although it'd be nice if my head wasn't in the way. The video seems to be a little blurry for some reason, I'm not sure why since the other video I did today wasn't as blurry and it was taken from the same spot.
I have 2 uploads today and then I'm probably done until January unless I get some sort of random inspiration. The sheets for all the past uploads should be up soon.

I found this old vinyl album from the Design Records label (DLP 226). I have been unable to locate any information about The Merlin Trio (guitar, organ, accordion) and there is no information on the jacket. I suspect that they may all have been studio musicians who were hired to make budget recordings for the label. Around the same time that this record was made, Ken Griffin recorded several albums called "The Magic Fingers of Merlin" and one of them was for Design Records which was a division of Pickwick Records in NYC.

Plastic Fang is the seventh official release by the American punk blues group The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, released on Matador in 2002. "She Said" was released as a single and a music video was filmed for it. In the video, Jon Spencer is a vampire being hunted by nuns whom he eventually seduces into a striptease en masse, before fighting and dying at the hands of a vampiress. Plastic Fang is the seventh official release by the American punk blues group The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, released on Matador in 2002. "She Said" was released as a single and a music video was filmed for it. In the video, Jon Spencer is a vampire being hunted by nuns whom he eventually seduces into a striptease en masse, before fighting and dying at the hands of a vampiress.
This album features guest appearances by Dr. John, Bernie Worrell and Willie Weeks and design by Chip Kidd. There are several different versions of this release, and some of them had a DVD included with the album, called Fang Visual, the most complete of which is the Australian release.
