The Path (comics)

The Path is an American comic book series published by CrossGen Entertainment from March 2002 to April 2004. It was cancelled due to the company's bankruptcy.

The Path was set on the world Han-Jinn, seen in Way of the Rat and Brath, in a Japanese-esque world that told the story of Obo-san (Nobuyuki), one of the many Sigil-bearers in CrossGen's Sigilverse.

The two main political groups in The Path are of a Japanese and Chinese typology. The two groups are at war with each other which is fought over a vast ocean that separates the two. It was also one of CrossGen's titles that premiered with a prequel issue.

The Path has had two Sigil-bearers. The first was the Character Todosi who was killed by the First. The second was his brother, Obo-san, to whom the Sigil was passed when Todosi was killed. Todosi appears in the prequel to The Path and an issue of The First. The Path is primarily based on Obo-san and his journey as a Sigil-bearer.

Overview

The Path begins with the story of the Warlord Todosi, a member of the clan Tsugawa. The House of Tsugawa served the Emperor for over 200 years, during which time Todosi's House played their part in maintaining the Empire. Todosi rose through the warrior ranks to become leader of the troops of Nayado. His brother, Nobuyuki known only as Obo-san, became a monk and dedicated his life to enlightenment. Now all that was left of House Tsugawa was Todosi and Obo-san, two brothers with a destiny.

On the Path

On the Path (Bosnian: Na putu) is a 2010 Bosnian and Herzegovinian drama film directed by Jasmila Žbanić.

Plot

Luna and Amar are a young Bosnian couple living in Sarajevo. Both have traumatic memories from the Bosnian War of the 1990s. Luna had seen her parents killed by an anti-Muslim militia in Bijeljina, and had come to Sarajevo with her grandparents as a child refugee. Amar had served as a soldier in the war and lost his brother. At present, however, they have apparently built up a successful life - she as an air hostess with B&H Airlines, he as an air traffic controller at the Sarajevo International Airport. When she comes back from a flight they make love passionately and go to have a good time at a local nightclub. Though identifying as "Muslims" in the context of Bosnia's ethnic set-up, religion plays no part in their life. In fact, Amar drinks alcohol a bit too much - which is forbidden by Islam - and it is this which begins to put their relationship under strain.

Dancing (album)

Dancing is a compilation album by Italian singer Elisa that was released on July 15, 2008 in CD format in the United States and Canada. A digital version on iTunes was released on June 17, 2008 in the United States and on August 25, 2008 in Canada.

The album, released as part of an effort to introduce Elisa to North American audiences, is a compilation of recordings (some remixed) from previously released albums dating back to 2000.

Released of the full album was preceded by the released of an EP featuring the song "Dancing" which was released in December 2007. Beside the title track, the EP includes "Rock Your Soul" (also included on the Dancing album), along with a live version of '"Dancing'" recorded at the iTunes Festival in London.

The first single from the album is Rainbow in a new remix edition by Glen Ballard.

Track origins

The songs on the album were chosen by Elisa and are culled from most of her albums, with the exception of her first, Pipes & Flowers.

There is only one song from her second album Asile's World (2000): "A Little Over Zero." However this is a remixed version of the original.

Camino (web browser)

Camino (from the Spanish word camino meaning "path") is a discontinued free, open source, GUI-based Web browser based on Mozilla's Gecko layout engine and specifically designed for the OS X operating system. In place of an XUL-based user interface used by most Mozilla-based applications, Camino used Mac-native Cocoa APIs. On May 30, 2013, the Camino Project announced that the browser is no longer being developed.

As Camino's aim was to integrate as well as possible with OS X, it used the Aqua user interface and integrated a number of OS X services and features such as the Keychain for password management and Bonjour for scanning available bookmarks across the local network. Other notable features included an integrated pop-up blocker and ad blocker, and tabbed browsing that included an overview feature allowing tabs to be viewed all at once as pages.

The browser was developed by the Camino Project, a community organization. Mike Pinkerton had been the technical lead of the Camino project since Dave Hyatt moved to the Safari team at Apple Inc. in mid-2002.

Path (graph theory)

In graph theory, a path in a graph is a finite or infinite sequence of edges which connect a sequence of vertices which, by most definitions, are all distinct from one another. In a directed graph, a directed path (sometimes called dipath) is again a sequence of edges (or arcs) which connect a sequence of vertices, but with the added restriction that the edges all be directed in the same direction.

Paths are fundamental concepts of graph theory, described in the introductory sections of most graph theory texts. See e.g. Bondy and Murty (1976), Gibbons (1985), or Diestel (2005). Korte et al. (1990) cover more advanced algorithmic topics concerning paths in graphs.

Definitions

A path is a trail in which all vertices (except possibly the first and last) are distinct. A trail is a walk in which all edges are distinct. A walk of length in a graph is an alternating sequence of vertices and edges, , which begins and ends with vertices. If the graph is directed, then is an arc from to . An infinite path is an alternating sequence of the same type described here, but with no first or last vertex, and a semi-infinite path (also ray) has a first vertex, , but no last vertex. Most authors require that all of the edges and vertices be distinct from one another.

Path (social network)

Path is a social networking-enabled photo sharing and messaging service for mobile devices that was launched in November 2010. The service allows users to share up to a total of 500 contacts with their close friends and family.

Dave Morin, co-founder and CEO, says: "Our long-term grand vision here is to build a network that is very high quality and that people feel comfortable contributing to at any time."

The company began with an iPhone application and a website. Later they released apps for Android, iPad, and Windows Phone. The company competes with other social networks such as Instagram. Path established innovations in UI design that continue through other mobile applications including context sensitive bubbles and the three bar menu slide.

Based in San Francisco, California, the company was founded by Shawn Fanning and former Facebook executive Dave Morin. Path's initial $2.5 million funding round included Ron Conway, Index Ventures, First Round Capital, Ashton Kutcher, Kevin Rose, Marc Benioff, Chris Kelly, and others. It subsequently raised $30 million in venture capital from Redpoint Ventures. On January 11, 2014, the company announced it had raised another $25 million in venture funding from Indonesian Bakrie Group, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Index Ventures, Greylock Partners, Insight Venture Partners, Redpoint Ventures, and First Round Capital.

Flower

A flower, sometimes known as a bloom or blossom, is the reproductive structure found in flowering plants (plants of the division Magnoliophyta, also called angiosperms). The biological function of a flower is to effect reproduction, usually by providing a mechanism for the union of sperm with eggs. Flowers may facilitate outcrossing (fusion of sperm and eggs from different individuals in a population) or allow selfing (fusion of sperm and egg from the same flower). Some flowers produce diaspores without fertilization (parthenocarpy). Flowers contain sporangia and are the site where gametophytes develop. Flowers give rise to fruit and seeds. Many flowers have evolved to be attractive to animals, so as to cause them to be vectors for the transfer of pollen.

In addition to facilitating the reproduction of flowering plants, flowers have long been admired and used by humans to beautify their environment, and also as objects of romance, ritual, religion, medicine and as a source of food.
