Stanley is an autonomous car created by Stanford University's Stanford Racing Team in cooperation with the Volkswagen Electronics Research Laboratory (ERL). It competed in, and won, the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge, earning the Stanford Racing Team the 2 million dollar prize.
Led by Associate Professor Sebastian Thrun, director of the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Lab, the Stanford Racing Team was developed solely for the purpose of competing in the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge. Stanford did not participate in the 2004 DARPA Grand Challenge and was considered to have 20:1 chances of winning the 2005 competition. Stanley is currently located at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, although it was displayed at the 2006 New York International Auto Show, and spent 2 years at the Volkswagen Autostadt Museum (Germany). The Stanford Racing Team entered a new vehicle, a modified Volkswagen Passat wagon, dubbed "Junior", in the 2007 DARPA Urban Challenge. Other key contributors on the team include Michael Montemerlo (software lead), Sven Strohband (lead engineer) and Cedric Dupont (vehicle lead), and Pamela Mahoney (communications lead).
Stanley may refer to:
A vehicle (from Latin: vehiculum) is a mobile machine that transports people or cargo. Most often, vehicles are manufactured, such as wagons, bicycles, motor vehicles (motorcycles, cars, trucks, buses), railed vehicles (trains, trams), watercraft (ships, boats), aircraft and spacecraft.
Land vehicles are classified broadly by what is used to apply steering and drive forces against the ground: wheeled, tracked, railed or skied. ISO 3833-1977 is the standard, also internationally used in legislation, for road vehicles types, terms and definitions.
Stanley Bert Eisen (born January 20, 1952), better known by his stage name Paul Stanley, is an American musician, singer, songwriter and painter best known for being the rhythm guitarist and co-lead singer of the rock band Kiss. He is the writer or co-writer of many of the band's highest-charting hits. Stanley established the "Starchild" character for his Kiss persona.
Hit Parader ranked him 18th on their list of Top 100 Metal Vocalists of All Time. Gibson.com Readers Poll also named him 13th on their list of Top 25 Frontmen.
Stanley Bert Eisen was born January 20, 1952, in upper Manhattan near 211th Street and Broadway; the Inwood neighborhood near Inwood Hill Park. He was the second of two children, and born two years after his sister Julia. His mother came from a family that fled Nazi Germany to Amsterdam, Netherlands and then to New York City. His father's parents were from Poland. Stanley was raised Jewish, although he did not consider his family very observant and he was not bar mitzvahed. His parents listened to classical music and light opera; Stanley was greatly moved by Beethoven's works. His right ear was misshapen from a birth defect called microtia; he was unable to hear on that side, thus he found it difficult to determine the direction of a sound, and he could not understand speech in a noisy environment. Attending PS 98, he was taunted by other children for his deformed ear.

The movie follows The National Steam Car Association (NSCA) tour of Warwickshire countryside, over the 21st and 22nd of September 2012. All the cars on the run were by the maker Stanley with models dating from 1904 to 1912.
1922 Stanley Steamer. Steam power was a no-brainer around the turn of the century. You could use anything that would burn as fuel; the steam engine was purely mechanical and had few moving parts; and steam power provided instantaneous torque, eliminating the need for gears, and allowing a vehicle to climb hills in a snap. By 1900, there were about 100 firms building steam cars in the United States. Half of the 2000 cars on the road were powered by steam, and the most popular of the American steam cars was the Stanley Steamer. » Subscribe: http://bit.ly/JLGSubscribe » Visit the Official Site: http://bit.ly/JLGOfficialSite THE BEST OF JAY LENO'S GARAGE » Exclusive First Looks: http://bit.ly/JLGExclusives » Ultra Rare Supercars: http://bit.ly/JLGSupercars » Jay's Book Club: http://bit.ly/JLG...

In this video, I am testing a brand new Stanley Power Supply Pack in a series of 3 tests. I test the unit on a truck with a dead battery, the USB charger on my Iphone, and the compressor for my van tire. I give the honest results. This tool really comes in handy for people that park outside during the cold days of winter, because frozen batteries often prevent cars and trucks from starting. When the temperature is close to 0 degrees fahrenheit, that's when the news channels typically report people with vehicle starting problems. NOTE: When hooking up a battery jump starter, be sure to have the starter turned off, then connect the positive and then the negative. Turn the starter on and start your vehicle. Once the vehicle is running, disconnect the negative one first and then the pos...

The way Herman Anderson explains it, deuterium is created in an electrolysis, or, more correctly, radiolysis chamber when deionized or ozonated water (with pH 12 KOH) is hit with 70,000 volts pulsed in a standing wave through a 14" OD soft steel cathode and anode, spaced just over 3" apart. Whether there are other ways of making it, I don't know. But I don't think the world in general knows that it can be made this way. Where's that guy who wanted to make some money? People associate it with the hydrogen bomb, probably thinking it is radioactive, which it is not. Maybe that's why no one has been experimenting with it as fuel for our cars, etc Herman Anderson declared that his hydrogen ICE was becoming a partial steam engine by the use of micron-sized water injection. With regard to the d...

This is a flow chart, version 1e, of Stanley Meyer's Water Powered Car, in which I replaced every instance of 'venturi separator' with 'cyclonic separator/separation'. Oops! My main theme is: Stanley Allen Meyer's Dune Buggy was powered by AMMONIA, and the technology for powering his dune buggy's internal combustion engine is very old dating back to at least 1807 when Sir Humphrey Davey made this statement: "....electrolytic hydrogen will combine with nitrogen in the presence of water, while ordinary hydrogen will not." http://www.energeticforum.com/water-fuel/6431-none-electrolytic-splitting-h2o-13.html#post117538 "Electrolytic hydrogen" implies atomic, or chemically disassociated, mono-atomic hydrogen (as opposed to H2). The same applies to the nitrogen (N2), but not to water (H2O). ...
This is version 3b2 of my analysis of Stanley Meyer's Gaseous Transformer, EPG - Energy Production Generator, which powered Stan's internal combustion engine in his water powered, dune buggy. This is a minor correction of version 3a and a minor correction to version 3b. The latter corrects a claim made upon the music during the first intermission after 40, or so, minutes. I use several source-videos for my critique... Two of Russ Gries' videos: "The Key To Stanley Meyers Water Car Gas Electrical Hydrogen Generator" and "P2 The Key To Stanly Myers Water Car, Gas Core Transformer, Self Staining Device", ...and another video of two cars outfitted with a power station of slightly different designs: "Hermann Anderson Water Fuel Car Lost Video stanley meyer" (this latter design includes foo...
