Pataliputra
Pataliputra (IAST: Pāṭaliputra), adjacent to modern-day Patna, was a city in ancient India, originally built by Magadha ruler Ajatashatru in 490 BCE as a small fort (Pāṭaligrāma) near the Ganges river.
Extensive archaeological excavations have been made in the vicinity of modern Patna. Excavations early in the 20th century around Patna revealed clear evidence of large fortification walls, including reinforcing wooden trusses.
Etymology
The etymology of Pataliputra is unclear. "Putra" means son, and "pāţali" is a species of rice or the plant Bignonia suaveolens. One traditional etymology holds that the city was named after the plant. Another tradition says that Pāṭaliputra means the son of Pāṭali, who was the daughter of Raja Sudarshan. As it was known as Pāṭali-grāma ("Pāṭali village") originally, some scholars believe that Pāṭaliputra is a transformation of Pāṭalipura, "Pāṭali town".
History
There is no mention of Pataliputra in written sources prior to the early Buddhist texts (the Pali Canon and Āgamas), where it appears as the village of Pataligrama and is omitted from a list of major cities in the region. Early Buddhist sources report a city being built in the vicinity of the village towards the end of the Buddha's life; this generally agrees with archaeological evidence showing urban development occurring in the area no earlier than the 3rd or 4th Century BCE. In 303 BCE, Greek historian and ambassador Megasthenes mentioned Pataliputra as a city in his work Indika.

Chhota Bheem
Chhota Bheem is an Indian animated comedy-adventure series. First premiered in 2008 on Pogo TV, it focuses on adventures of a boy named Bheem & his friends in fictional city-state of Dholakpur. In this series Bheem & his friends are usually involved in protecting king Indravarma of Dholakpur to save the city-state from various evil forces. Sometimes they are seen helping other Kingdoms as well. It is one of the popular animated series in India which is loved by many people.
The series Chotta Bheem was created by Rajiv Chilaka, CEO of Green Gold Animation. Raj Viswanadha, Arun Shendurnikar, Nidhi Anand, Shridisha Dilip have written stories. As of today more than 400 episodes,29 movies have been released and aired.

The powers of Kirmada were destroyed by Krishna's Sudarshana Chakra in the movie Chhota Bheem Aur Krishna, but his soul manages to survive. His sister brings him back using her magic, but is unable to restore any power in him. Kirmada then requests the devil to give him more strength. In response, the devil informs him that he was killed by the Sudarshana chakra and cannot be resurrected, unless he absorbs the power of 1000 people and sacrifices himself into the fire, at which point Kirmada could get back his own form and power, watch now!!

The Ganga Action Plan, an environmental initiative to clean up the river, has been a major failure thus far, due to corruption, lack of technical expertise, good environmental planning, and support from religious authorities.

The Empire was founded in 322 BCE by Chandragupta Maurya, who had overthrown the Nanda Dynasty and rapidly expanded his power westwards across central and western India, taking advantage of the disruptions of local powers in the wake of the withdrawal westward by Alexander's Greek armies. Chandragupta then defeated the invasion led by Seleucus I, a Greek general from Alexander's army, gaining additional territory west of the Indus River.
The Maurya Empire was one of the world's largest empires in its time, and the largest ever in the Indian subcontinent. At its greatest extent, the empire stretched to the north along the natural boundaries of the Himalayas, to the east into Assam, to the west into Balochistan (south west Pakistan and south east Iran) and the Hindu Kush mountains of what is now Afghanistan. The Empire was expanded into India's central and southern regions by the emperors Chandragupta and Bindusara, but it excluded a small portion of unexplored tribal and forested regions near Kalinga (modern Odisha), until it was conquered by Ashoka. It declined for about 50 years after Ashoka's rule ended, and it dissolved in 185 BCE with the foundation of the Sunga Dynasty in Magadha.

The Maurya Empire was a geographically extensive Iron Age historical power in ancient India, ruled by the Maurya dynasty from 322 – 185 BCE. Originating from the kingdom of Magadha in the Indo-Gangetic plains (modern Bihar, eastern Uttar Pradesh) in the eastern side of the Indian subcontinent, the empire had its capital city at Pataliputra (modern Patna). The Empire was founded in 322 BCE by Chandragupta Maurya, who had overthrown the Nanda Dynasty and rapidly expanded his power westwards across central and western India, taking advantage of the disruptions of local powers in the wake of the withdrawal westward by Alexander's Greek armies. By 316 BCE the empire had fully occupied Northwestern India, defeating and conquering the satraps left by Alexander. Chandragupta then defeated the invasion led by Seleucus I, a Greek general from Alexander's army, gaining additional territory west of the Indus River.
The Maurya Empire was one of the world's largest empires in its time, and the largest ever in the Indian subcontinent. At its greatest extent, the empire stretched to the north along the natural boundaries of the Himalayas, to the east into Assam, to the west into Balochistan (south west Pakistan and south east Iran) and the Hindu Kush mountains of what is now Afghanistan. The Empire was expanded into India's central and southern regions by the emperors Chandragupta and Bindusara, but it excluded a small portion of unexplored tribal and forested regions near Kalinga (modern Odisha), until it was conquered by Ashoka. It declined for about 50 years after Ashoka's rule ended, and it dissolved in 185 BCE with the foundation of the Sunga Dynasty in Magadha.

With Satyadev Dubey as Chanakya, Ravi Jhankal as Chandragupta, Anjan Shrivastava as Dhanananda, Meeta Vashisht as Suvasini, Lalit Tiwari as Rakshasa, Vijay Kashyap as Shakatara, Devendra Malhotra as Ashvalayan, Zarvan Patel as Alexander, Irfan as Malayaketu, and Padmanabhan as Seleucus.
The scene now opens with a special entente with Virochak, son of the deceased King Porus, for jointly if ruling the kingdom with Chandragupta on an equally shared basis. This is agreed and Chanakya plans a ‘pincer movement’ of troops with an element of surprise into Pataliputra. Emperor Nanda and queen Suvasini are caught totally unawares. The royal couple, while fleeing the capital in disguise, is discovered and Nanda killed with a poison arrow. Obviously, in Chanakya’s grand stratagem, honesty and humanity come only next to the ‘empire’. A squirming Chandragupta accuses Chanakya to have a heart of stone.
The bereaved queen spurns both Chandragupta’s offer, and Malayaketu’s more politically motivated offer of marriage and seeks refuge in the Buddhist monastery. In a last encounter with Suvasini, now a Bhikshuni (nun), Chandragupta, while looking for patronage of the Buddhist Sangha (organisation), shares his personal disillusionment with grandstand politics with her. In a last act of diplomatic skullduggery, Chanakya prevents Rakshasa from fleeing and, instead, persuades him to utilise his ample talents in the service of now Emperor Chandragupta, his erstwhile archenemy!
As Nehru summarises, like Machiavelli in Europe, Chanakya was bold and scheming, proud and revengeful, never forgetting his purpose, availing himself of every device to delude and defeat the enemy. He sat with the reins of the empire in his hands and looked upon the emperor more as a beloved pupil than as a master. Chanakya’s final victory was obtained by sowing discord in the enemy’s ranks. At the victorious moment, he induced Chandragupta to hand over the insignia of his own high office to the rival prime minister Rakshasa, whose intelligence and loyalty to his old chief Nanda had impressed him greatly. So the story ends: not in the bitterness of defeat and humiliation, but in reconciliation and in laying the firm and enduring foundation of a state. The curtain is drawn when Chanakya demits office. In Nehru’s words, simple and austere in his life, uninterested in the pomp and pageantry of high position, Chanakya redeemed his pledge and accomplished his purpose, and then retired, withdrawing himself, Brahmin-like, to a life of contemplation and completion of his first love, writing Artha Shastra.
Nehru describes Chandragupta’s empire covering the whole of India except for south, from the Arabian Sea to the Bay of Bengal, and extending in the north up to Kabul. For the first time in recorded history, a centralised state rose in India, with its capital in Pataliputra. While the state was an autocracy, there was a great deal of local autonomy in the towns and village units, and elective elders looked after the local affairs. This local autonomy was highly prized and hardly any king or emperor interfered with it. In a purely agricultural age, there was nothing like the control of the individual by the state.

Sanchi is a small village in Raisen District of the state of Madhya Pradesh, India, it is located 46 km north east of Bhopal, A British officer in 1818, General Taylor, was the first known Western historian to document (in English) the existence of Sanchi (Sāñcī). Amateur archaeologists and
treasure hunters ravaged the site until 1881, when proper restoration work was initiated. Between 1912 and 1919 the structures were restored to their present condition under the supervision of Sir John Marshall.Today, around fifty monuments remain on the hill of Sanchi,including three stupas and several temples. The monuments have been listed among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1989..The 'Great Stupa' at Sanchi is the oldest stone structure in India and was originally commissioned by the emperor Ashoka the Great in the 3rd century BCE. Its nucleus was a simple hemispherical brick structure built over the relics of the Buddha. It was crowned by the chatra, a parasol-like structure symbolising high rank, which was intended to honour and shelter the relics. It has four profusely carved ornamental gateways and a balustrade encircling the whole structure. Sunga emperor Pushyamitra may have destroyed the original stupa, and his son Agnimitra rebuilt it. During the later rule of the Sunga, the stupa was expanded with stone slabs to almost twice its original size. The gateways and the balustrade were built and appear to have been commissioned
by the Satavahana. An inscription records the gift of one of the top architraves of the Southern Gateway by the artisans of the Satavahana king Satakarni:
