Celebrate the 10th Independent Bookshop Week, 18-25 June

Get a Verso tote bag filled with free books – and 10% discount for everyone on 25 June
Independent Bookshop Week 18-25 June 2016

We’ll be celebrating Independent Bookshop Week together with many other independent bookshops across the country. All through the week book lovers and book buyers will be visiting their favourite bookshops and taking part in the Bookshop Crawl, and on the last day, Saturday 25 June, we have a very special offer for you.

Verso tote bag

Starting from 10 am – when we open – we’ll be offering special Verso tote bags filled with radical books from publishers Verso, Pluto Press and Zed Books.

To win one of these gift tote bags just visit Newham Bookshop on Saturday 25 June and buy any book of your choice. Then say “Radical Bookshop Bag” when you buy your book and you’ll get one of the bags, but only as long as stocks last, and only one per person. So please get to us early if you want to win a bag. Keep an eye on Verso’s blog and Pluto’s blog as well as the Verso, Pluto and Zed Books social media. Look for the hashtag #ibw2016 on Twitter.

We are one of seven independent bookshops making this special offer. The others are: Bookmarks and Housmans in London, the People’s Bookshop in Durham, Five Leaves Bookshop in Nottingham, Word Power Books in Edinburgh and News From Nowhere in Liverpool. If you really can’t get to us, then try one of these other bookshops.

For everyone buying books on Saturday 25 June, we’ll be giving 10% discount to celebrate Independent Bookshop Week.

Sally Nicholls
Prize-winning children’s author Sally Nicholls says:

“Independent bookshops? What a terrifying thought! Go into a bookshop and anything could happen to you. You could be educated, informed, inspired, transformed, terrified, amused… you might come out a completely different person to the one you went in as. It happened to me. You have been warned.”
