The River Teifi (Welsh: Afon Teifi pronounced [ˈtəɪvɪ]) forms the boundary between the counties of Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire in south-west Wales for most of its length, and the boundary between Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire for the final 3 miles (5 km) of its total length of 73 miles (117 km). It flows into the sea below the town of Cardigan.
The Teifi has its source in Llyn Teifi, one of several lakes known collectively as the Teifi Pools. These are situated towards the north of the county of Ceredigion; the source is in the Cambrian Mountains at 455m. This wide area of Mid-Wales, with a very sparse population, is part of what is sometimes called the "desert of Wales". The river flows past Strata Florida Abbey and then through Pontrhydfendigaid before reaching the main river valley floor. Here it passes through one of the great raised mires of Britain, Gors Goch Glan Teifi, also known as Tregaron Bog. From here the river descends through pastures and bogs forming meanders on farmland below. Several small tributaries join from the valley with gorges, rocky and tree-lined sections also in the area.

The Teifi Valley Railway (Welsh: Rheilffordd Dyffryn Teifi) is a 2 ft (610 mm) narrow gauge railway operating between Llandysul and Newcastle Emlyn along the River Teifi, West Wales. It is a tourist railway built on the GWR part of the Carmarthen and Cardigan Railway and operated on about two miles of track. A new platform was constructed at Henllan, on the original GWR location, from where the service had been planned to continue to Newcastle Emlyn and, eventually, to Pentrecwrt. Trains run from Henllan station to Pont Goch (Red Bridge; formerly Llandyfriog Riverside).
The Teifi Valley Railway was originally conceived as a 7 ft 1⁄4 in (2,140 mm) Brunel gauge line between Carmarthen and Cardigan. The line was opened temporarily in 1860, under the South Wales Railway and was fully opened the following year. It was operated by the Carmarthen and Cardigan Railway between Carmarthen and Cynwyl Elfed. In 1864, the line was extended to Pencader and Llandysul and, by 1872, had been converted to 4 ft 8 1⁄2 in (1,435 mm) standard gauge. By this time though, the line was bankrupt. Eventually the line was bought by the Great Western Railway which extended the terminus to Newcastle Emlyn. Passenger trains ceased to operate in 1952 and, in 1973 when freight services discontinued, the line was closed and dismantled. All that was left were platforms, bridges and a tunnel.
Fly fishing is an angling method in which an artificial "fly" is used to catch fish. The fly is cast using a fly rod, reel, and specialized weighted line. Casting a nearly weightless fly or "lure" requires casting techniques significantly different from other forms of casting. Fly fishermen use hand tied flies that resemble natural invertebrates, baitfish, other food organisms, or "lures" to provoke the fish to strike (bite at the fly).
Fly fishing can be done in fresh or salt water. North Americans usually distinguish freshwater fishing between cold-water species (trout, salmon, steelhead) and warm-water species, notably bass. In Britain, where natural water temperatures vary less, the distinction is between game fishing for trout and salmon versus coarse fishing for other species. Techniques for fly fishing differ with habitat (lakes and ponds, small streams, large rivers, bays and estuaries, and open ocean.)
Author Izaak Walton called fly fishing "The Contemplative Man's Recreation".

Used for many years to catch wild Salmon on the River Teifi as they jumped over the Falls at Cenarth between Cardigan and Newcastle Emlyn in West Wales.....we see one of the ancient Coracles being maneuvered skillfully across the River. The Bridge over the River dates back to 1787. The music track is 'Windswept' from YouTube's Audio Library.

Extremely rare footage taken from the long deleted video of Ollie’s only existing TV shows at Southern Television in the 1960’s. Completely captivating and charming short films of a master countryman, broadcaster, naturalist, writer and fisherman – a great influence on those fortunate to have met and worked with him. He (along with producer Ted Channell) were among the pioneers of today’s popular nature television programmes.

Places to see in ( Lampeter - UK ) Lampeter is a town in Ceredigion, South West Wales, lying at the confluence of the River Teifi and the Afon Dulas. It is the third largest urban area in Ceredigion after Aberystwyth and Cardigan. The University of Wales, Trinity Saint David formerly St.David's College, St. David's University College of the University of Wales, then University of Wales, Lampeter, now UWTSD, was founded in 1822 by Bishop Burgess of St David's Cathedral to provide training for those wishing to join the Anglican priesthood, or lead a principled lay life following a classical education in a Welsh degree granting college. In 1852 it was granted a charter to award the BD degree and in 1865 another charter enabled it to confer BA degrees in liberal arts. Its central building, b...
Places to see in ( Cardigan - UK ) Cardigan is a town in the county of Ceredigion in Wales. Cardigan lies on a tidal reach of the River Teifi at the point where Ceredigion meets Pembrokeshire. Cardigan was the county town of the historic county of Cardiganshire and is the second largest town in present-day Ceredigion. The settlement at Cardigan was developed around the Norman castle built in the late 11th or early 12th century. The castle was the location of the first National Eisteddfod in 1176; it underwent restoration in 2014. The town became an important port in the 18th century, but declined by the early 20th century owing to its shallow harbour. Modern Cardigan is a compact and busy town with most facilities for retail, education, health, worship and sport. In 1176, Cardigan Castl...
Places to see in ( St Dogmaels - UK ) St Dogmaels is a village, parish and community in Pembrokeshire, Wales, on the estuary of the River Teifi, a mile downstream from the town of Cardigan in neighbouring Ceredigion. A little to the west of the village, further along the estuary, lies Poppit Sands beach. The village contains the remains of a 12th-century Tironian abbey, which was in its day one of the richer monastic institutions in Wales. Adjacent to the abbey ruins lies the Anglican St. Thomas parish church, which appears successively to have occupied at least three sites close to or within the abbey buildings The present building is a respectable minor Victorian edifice and contains the Ogam Sagranus stone. St. Dogmael's was once a marcher borough. George Owen of Henllys, in 1603, ...

I floated down the Molalla River on June 1, 2013 from Canby Community Park to Molalla River State Park in a handmade replica of an Irish coracle. This trip took a couple hours. There are whitewater stretches that make the float more exciting. I looked particularly nerdy with a GoPro mounted on my helmet, but captured some excellent whitewater action.
