Woman missing overnight in Gnangara plantation found by police

A woman has been found safe and well after spending a bitterly cold night in the Gnangara pine plantation.

It's understood the 59-year-old became lost after crashing her Holden Cruz into bushland on Neaves Road, Mariginiup, around 6.30pm on Friday.

Teams of SES volunteers and police spent the night looking for her.

Around 7.20am on Saturday, the Duncraig woman was spotted by a police officer walking out of bushland near Old Yanchep Road, apparently none the worse for her cold night out.

Figures from the Bureau of Meteorology show that the temperature around Perth last night dipped to around eight degrees but wind chill would have made it feel several degrees colder.

Nine News reporter Alice Pooley told 6PR Radio that the woman didn't appear to need medical help.

"She seemed fine. She was able to walk and got into a police car to go to Joondalup Health Campus. She didn't need an ambulance," she said.
