Today I’m going to talk to you about peppermint essential oil and it’s numerous benefits and uses. There are over 1000 medical studies alone on peppermint essential oil that prove it helps your digestive track, improves breath, and fights cancer. What makes peppermint so powerful is the compound in it called menthol, which helps reduce inflammation and acts as an antioxidant.
One of the most common ways peppermint oil is used is as a breath freshener in toothpaste. PEPPERMINT SQUARES
Yield: 36 squares
INGREDIENTS
Crust
10 graham cracker sheets (34.79g sugar)
6 tablespoons butter, melted
Peppermint Cream
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup heavy cream (3.47g sugar)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (.53g sugar)
3 teaspoons peppermint extract
2 tablespoons powdered sugar (15.65g sugar)
Chocolate Coating
4 ounces dark chocolate (41.63g sugar)
2 tablespoons coconut oil
PREPARATION
1. Place graham crackers in a gallon-sized re-sealable plastic bag. Crush crackers with rolling pin until fine in texture.
2. In a bowl, combine crushed graham cracker with melted butter and mix well.
3. Line a 9x9 inch pan with parchment paper.
4. Fill pan with graham cracker crumbs and pat down to create one even, compressed crust. Place in freezer.
5. In a large bowl, combine ingredients for peppermint cream with hand mixer until a thick, uniform cream is formed.
6. Remove pan from freezer and layer the peppermint cream on crust in one even layer. Freeze for at least 1 hour.
7. In a small bowl, combine chocolate and coconut oil (the exact amount of coconut oil needed may vary based on the chocolate used). Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until chocolate is fully melted.
8. Remove pan from freezer and cut the sheet sheet of peppermint cream and graham cracker into 36 squares (i.e. 6 lengthwise cuts and 6 crosswise cuts).
9. Place squares on a metal cooling rack and top with melted chocolate.
10. Chill squares in fridge or freezer until ready to eat.

Peppermint
Peppermint (Mentha × piperita, also known as M. balsamea Willd.) is a hybrid mint, a cross between watermint and spearmint. The plant, indigenous to Europe and the Middle East, is now widespread in cultivation in many regions of the world. It is found wild occasionally with its parent species.
Botany
Peppermint was first described in 1753 by Carl Linnaeus from specimens that had been collected in England; he treated it as a species, but it is now universally agreed to be a hybrid. It is a herbaceous rhizomatous perennial plant growing to 30–90 cm (12–35 in) tall, with smooth stems, square in cross section. The rhizomes are wide-spreading, fleshy, and bare fibrous roots. The leaves are from 4–9 cm (1.6–3.5 in) long and 1.5–4 cm (0.59–1.57 in) broad, dark green with reddish veins, and with an acute apex and coarsely toothed margins. The leaves and stems are usually slightly fuzzy. The flowers are purple, 6–8 mm (0.24–0.31 in) long, with a four-lobed corolla about 5 mm (0.20 in) diameter; they are produced in whorls (verticillasters) around the stem, forming thick, blunt spikes. Flowering is from mid to late summer. The chromosome number is variable, with 2n counts of 66, 72, 84, and 120 recorded. Peppermint is a fast-growing plant; once it sprouts, it spreads very quickly.

Jones rose to prominence starring in the Disney Channel film, Let It Shine. Jones was featured on Radio Disney's Next Big Thing, or N.B.T.. Jones was formerly signed with Hollywood Records, Jones released her debut single "Holla at the DJ," followed by her extended play, Made Of.
Early life
Raised in Lebanon, Tennessee to former NFL player Mike Jones and session vocalist Javonda Jones, Jones began singing at a very young age. Her first stage performance was at the age of six when she performed "America the Beautiful" to a crowded auditorium of parents at her kindergarten graduation. At the age of nine, she met with the casting heads for Disney. After that, she became an actor and songwriter. In 2005, Jones performed the National Anthem at two NFL games. She has worked with the Motown group, The Funk Brothers. In 2006, she competed on Radio Disney, where she became known for her song "Real You". Being on N.B.T was a step in helping her to further launch her music career.

2 tablespoons powdered sugar (15.65g sugar)
Chocolate Coating
4 ounces dark chocolate (41.63g sugar)
2 tablespoons coconut oil
PREPARATION
1. Place graham crackers in a gallon-sized re-sealable plastic bag. Crush crackers with rolling pin until fine in texture.
2. In a bowl, combine crushed graham cracker with melted butter and mix well.
3. Line a 9x9 inch pan with parchment paper.
4. Fill pan with graham cracker crumbs and pat down to create one even, compressed crust. Place in freezer.
5. In a large bowl, combine ingredients for peppermint cream with hand mixer until a thick, uniform cream is formed.
6. Remove pan from freezer and layer the peppermint cream on crust in one even layer. Freeze for at least 1 hour.
7. In a small bowl, combine chocolate and coconut oil (the exact amount of coconut oil needed may vary based on the chocolate used). Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until chocolate is fully melted.
8. Remove pan from freezer and cut the sheet sheet of peppermint cream and graham cracker into 36 squares (i.e. 6 lengthwise cuts and 6 crosswise cuts).
9. Place squares on a metal cooling rack and top with melted chocolate.
10. Chill squares in fridge or freezer until ready to eat.

Peppermint Cream
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup heavy cream (3.47g sugar)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (.53g sugar)
3 teaspoons peppermint extract
2 tablespoons powdered sugar (15.65g sugar)
Chocolate Coating
4 ounces dark chocolate (41.63g sugar)
2 tablespoons coconut oil
PREPARATION
1. Place graham crackers in a gallon-sized re-sealable plastic bag. Crush crackers with rolling pin until fine in texture.
2. In a bowl, combine crushed graham cracker with melted butter and mix well.
3. Line a 9x9 inch pan with parchment paper.
4. Fill pan with graham cracker crumbs and pat down to create one even, compressed crust. Place in freezer.
5. In a large bowl, combine ingredients for peppermint cream with hand mixer until a thick, uniform cream is formed.
6. Remove pan from freezer and layer the peppermint cream on crust in one even layer. Freeze for at least 1 hour.
7. In a small bowl, combine chocolate and coconut oil (the exact amount of coconut oil needed may vary based on the chocolate used). Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until chocolate is fully melted.
8. Remove pan from freezer and cut the sheet sheet of peppermint cream and graham cracker into 36 squares (i.e. 6 lengthwise cuts and 6 crosswise cuts).
9. Place squares on a metal cooling rack and top with melted chocolate.
10. Chill squares in fridge or freezer until ready to eat.
