Plot: Chase Russell, a new college graduate finds herself stuck in the same house in which she grew up, hanging out with the same people, going to the same places, and living with the same inescapable label of being a "slut". Her best friend Tibb (who is known by all as the pretty rich girl), lives vicariously through the adventurous Chase - often bribing her to be outrageously daring. One night, the girls stumble upon a group of attractive boys that all belong to the town's elusive cult-like Christian congregation - "Disciples of Noah". This church believes strongly in the sanctity of animals and their relationships to humans. The church also endorses high morals and excommunicates anyone that has sex outside of a marriage - which gives Tibb an idea. It seems the restless Chase cannot keep a job. But knowing that she has to save a small fortune to move to New York and pursue a dream of writing, Chase reluctantly accepts Tibb's generous bribe to seduce the cutest boy in the congregation (and the preacher's son) Gabe Sullivan.

Plot: A morality tale of xenophobia, religious prejudice, mob violence, poverty, and their effect on two children in Liverpool during the Depression. When a shipyard closes, Liam and Teresa's dad loses his job. Liam, who's about 8, making his first Holy Communion, gets a regular dose of fire and brimstone at church. Teresa, about 13, has a job as a maid to the Jewish family that owns the closed shipyard. The lady of that house is having an affair, and Teresa becomes an accomplice. Liam stutters terribly, especially when troubled. Dad comes under the sway of the Fascists, who blame cheap Irish labor and Jewish owners. A Molotov cocktail brings things to a head.

Plot: Police Inspector Ghote lives a middle-class life in Bombay along with his wife, Pratima. He has been employed with the Bombay Police for many years. His wife is generally disgruntled and wants a better life. He is assigned to investigate the deadly assault on a Parsi man named Perfect, who is the Secretary of Lala Heera Lal, a wealthy man with underworld links. Inspector Ghote commences his investigation and is displeased when his superiors ask him to work with a Swedish Forensic Expert by the name of Axel Svennson. Axel is thrilled to get a closer look at the working of the Bombay Police, but also realizes that Ghote may not be one of their best police officers. When their friendship develops, he gets invited to Ghote's house, and gets to meet Pratima. Their investigation, though Prima Facie simple enough, takes them through turns and twists that both had not expected - including corridors of power and corruption - and finally to the conclusion and the unmasking of the culprit(s) behind this incident.
