Nam Myoho Renge Kyo Practiced in Nichiren Buddhism by Nichiren Buddhists. Nam myoho renge kyo, Daimoku is the absolute reality. Nam Myoho Renge Kyo meaning? The meaning of Nam Myoho Renge Kyo in short description means literal Devotion to the mystic law of the Lotus Sutra.
Chanting nam myoho renge kyo is to connect with the eternal Buddha; manifesting the desire to save all beings from suffering without delusion or impediment. This nam myoho renge kyo youtube video helps you to chant Daimoku. The Renge in Nam Myoho Renge Kyo is also suggested by another feature of the lotus flower. Her pure flowers come from a muddy puddle and yet they are not tainted by the mud. In other words, the very essence of our life remains uncontaminated, despite the bad causes that we might have made. Therefore 'Renge' to make the most fundamental nature of reality to reveal of life.
The word NAM comes from the Sanskrit Namah and stands for commitment or devotion. It is a common term in Buddhist traditions and has many variations with the same meaning. Myoho literally means the Mystic Law. "Myo" (mysticism) means 'do not understand' and 'ho' means 'Law'. 'Myoho' is the law that underlies the part of life that is beyond comprehension. This is only an interpretation of Myoho. In another Myo indicates the constant truth and Ho to all phenomena are triggered by Myo. Renge means lotus flower. Kyo indicates the sutras, or the teachings of Buddha. In a broader sense, the activities of all living beings and all phenomena in the universe.

Nichiren (日蓮) (February 16, 1222 – October 13, 1282) was a Buddhist monk who lived during the Kamakura period (1185–1333) in Japan. Nichiren taught devotion to the Lotus Sutra, entitled Myōhō-Renge-Kyō in Japanese, as the exclusive means to attain enlightenment and the chanting of Nam-Myōhō-Renge-Kyō as the essential practice of the teaching. Nichiren Buddhism includes various schools with diverging interpretations of Nichiren's teachings. While virtually all Nichiren Buddhist schools regard him as a reincarnation of the Lotus Sutra's Bodhisattva Superior Practices, Jōgyō Bosatsu (上行菩薩), some schools of Nichiren Buddhism's Nikkō lineages regard him as the actual Buddha of this age, or the Buddha of the Latter day of the Law.
Nichiren was born on February 16, 1222 in the village of Kominato, Nagase District, Awa Province (within present-day Chiba Prefecture). Nichiren's father was Mikuni-no-Tayu Shigetada, also known as Nukina Shigetada Jiro (d. 1258) and his mother was Umegiku-nyo (d. 1267). On his birth, his parents named him Zennichimaro (善日麿?) which has variously been translated into English as "Splendid Sun" and "Virtuous Sun Boy" among others. The exact site of Nichiren's birth is believed to be submerged off the shore from present-day Kominato-zan Tanjō-ji (小湊山 誕生寺), a temple in Kominato that commemorates Nichiren's birth. In his own words about his birth, Nichiren stated that he was "the son of a chandala family who lived near the sea in Tojo in Awa Province, in the remote countryside of the eastern part of Japan."

Chanting nam myoho renge kyo is to connect with the eternal Buddha; manifesting the desire to save all beings from suffering without delusion or impediment. This nam myoho renge kyo youtube video helps you to chant Daimoku. The Renge in Nam Myoho Renge Kyo is also suggested by another feature of the lotus flower. Her pure flowers come from a muddy puddle and yet they are not tainted by the mud. In other words, the very essence of our life remains uncontaminated, despite the bad causes that we might have made. Therefore 'Renge' to make the most fundamental nature of reality to reveal of life.
The word NAM comes from the Sanskrit Namah and stands for commitment or devotion. It is a common term in Buddhist traditions and has many variations with the same meaning. Myoho literally means the Mystic Law. "Myo" (mysticism) means 'do not understand' and 'ho' means 'Law'. 'Myoho' is the law that underlies the part of life that is beyond comprehension. This is only an interpretation of Myoho. In another Myo indicates the constant truth and Ho to all phenomena are triggered by Myo. Renge means lotus flower. Kyo indicates the sutras, or the teachings of Buddha. In a broader sense, the activities of all living beings and all phenomena in the universe.

Nam Myoho Renge Kyo Practiced in Nichiren Buddhism by Nichiren Buddhists. Nam myoho renge kyo, Daimoku is the absolute reality. Nam Myoho Renge Kyo meaning? The meaning of Nam Myoho Renge Kyo in short description means literal Devotion to the mystic law of the Lotus Sutra.
Chanting nam myoho renge kyo is to connect with the eternal Buddha; manifesting the desire to save all beings from suffering without delusion or impediment. This nam myoho renge kyo youtube video helps you to chant Daimoku. The Renge in Nam Myoho Renge Kyo is also suggested by another feature of the lotus flower. Her pure flowers come from a muddy puddle and yet they are not tainted by the mud. In other words, the very essence of our life remains uncontaminated, despite the bad causes that we might have made. Therefore 'Renge' to make the most fundamental nature of reality to reveal of life.
The word NAM comes from the Sanskrit Namah and stands for commitment or devotion. It is a common term in Buddhist traditions and has many variations with the same meaning. Myoho literally means the Mystic Law. "Myo" (mysticism) means 'do not understand' and 'ho' means 'Law'. 'Myoho' is the law that underlies the part of life that is beyond comprehension. This is only an interpretation of Myoho. In another Myo indicates the constant truth and Ho to all phenomena are triggered by Myo. Renge means lotus flower. Kyo indicates the sutras, or the teachings of Buddha. In a broader sense, the activities of all living beings and all phenomena in the universe.

In February of 1998 5 time world Kickboxing Champion Anthony "Amp" Elmore visited Ghana for the Nichiren Shoshu Temple opening. In June of 1998 Elmore returned to Ghana to document an in-dept history and background regarding Nichiren Shoshu Buddhism in Ghana. On February 24, 1998 World Kickboxing Champion Anthony "Amp" Elmore interviewed Nichiren Shoshu Priest Rev. Dojo Yorshita the Chief Priest of the Hokkeji Temple located in Accra, Ghana. This is the first Nichiren Shoshu Temple opened in Africa. At the time of the interview Rev. Yorshita had only been in Ghana for 3 months. Rev. Elmore entered into a battle with Memphis SGI members regarding the background and history of Buddhism in Ghana. Mr. Joseph Asomani was the SGI General Director in Ghana. Unknowing to Mr. Asomani and Ghana members Mr. Elmore connected a clear-cut comprehensive plan put forward by SGI leader Daisaku Ikeda. When the Ghana members learned that Daisaku Ikeda had replaced Joseph Asomani as the General Director the Ghana Buddhist banded together and rose up and fought against Daisaku Ikeda. Daisaku Ikeda ex-communicated the Ghana members. When Daisaku Ikeda made his break from Nichiren Shoshu the Ghana SGI infrastructure was held together under the leadership of Joseph Asomani. In 1991 the Ghana members contacted Nichiren Shoshu Temple and Priests visited Ghana. The Nichiren Shoshu Temple Gojakaied over 600 members in Ghana. One Ghana member later purchased land and they asked 67th High Priest Nikken Shonin to grant them a Temple. On February 21, 1998 the Ghana Temple opened. Anthony "Amp" Elmore was the official videorgrapher in Ghana. When Elmore visited Ghana he became involved in the battle in that the powerful SGI was using their political influence to suppress the Ghana members. Elmore got into a battle with American SGI members who threaten to have Elmore's Ghana passport privileges revoked. The SGI wrote Elmore a 9 page letter. Elmore responded back with a 14 page letter. Elmore challenged the SGI and made a trip back to Ghana to document about Buddhism in Ghana. Elmore notes that he was at the temple a week before and he taped the Gojakai of their new baby that was held on Sunday June 14, 1998. Notice the traditional dress worn by Mr. and Mrs. Asomani. Elmore interviewed them directly after morning service in Ghana. Mrs. Asomani explained that when Ghanians learn about Buddhism the view it more as a philosophy than a religion. She explains that having a temple and Priest brings credibility to the Buddhist faith. One note about Buddhism in Ghana. The SGI organization had to bring in a former Nichiren Shoshu Priest because the SGI members will not accept a lay leader as their teacher. Mr. Asomani was the Ghana SGI Young Women's Division chief. By profession she is a Bank executive who is very articulate and well educated. Mr. Asomani expressed that his mission was to see Buddhism practiced properly in Ghana. Mr. Asomani indicated that he would like to see Americans work hand and hand with Ghana members. In 1996 5 time Karate Kickboxing champion Anthony " Amp" Elmore of Memphis, Tennessee made his 1st visit to the Nichiren Shoshu Temple in Taisekiji, Japan. During his visit Elmore met Mrs. Miriko Fugi who was the wife of the Chief Priest in Fuji city. Mrs. Fugi was visiting her 13 year old son who had entered the Priesthood. Today at the time of this posting the young man would be 30 years old. This video gives a western view of the life and tradition of Nichiren Shoshu Priest. The young man's close friend was Hogan Nagasaki who was at the time the Chief Priest in New York. Hogan Nagasaki did not complete his Priest training. His sister is married to Rev. Murata who at the time of this writing is the Chief Priest in Washington D.C.
This video gives a Western Insight into the over 750 year old Japanese tradition of Nichiren Shoshu Priest. One of the coolest experiences in the world of Nichiren Shoshu Buddhism is making the "Tozan Journey" to the Head Temple of Nichiren Shoshu in Taisekiji, Japan. The Nichiren Shoshu Buddhist sect has been around for over 750 years. One thing that Nichiren Shoshu Priest have right is their overseas Tozan experience. The Tozan experience is a way of which Buddhist from around the world can visit what is called in Nichiren Shoshu Buddhism; "The True Object of Worship" called the "Dai Gohonzon." When Nichiren Shoshu members come to Tozan they experience the "Life of the True Buddha" Nichiren Daishonin. Anthony "Amp" Elmore is an African American Nichiren Shoshu Buddhist from Memphis, Tennessee who began practicing Buddhism in 1974. Elmore is a 5 Time world Karate/Kickboxing champion and a producer of a film regarding his life story called the "Contemporary Gladiator."
Elmore notes that this interview was conducted around 1997 and those in the interview may not be practicing Buddhism at the time of this posting in 2012. Elmore as a filmmaker goal was to capture the "Spirit of Tozan" and give the outside observer and insight was it is like for a Buddhist to travel to Japan and experience Tozan. Elmore notes that it takes moreover a non priest to provide an objective view of Tozan. Elmore called this video "The California Girls." Elmore notes that their is a special spirit that comes from "California People" as opposed to other sections of America. California Elmore notes is more racially diverse.
