An update on the 1930s, Japanese eyedropper fountain pen I'm hoping to repair. The ink shut off shaft boss is now off the pen! Casting a C ring tool from metal epoxy worked; this clip shows the undamaged boss. Now, how do I get to the sealing material? Good question!

Industrial Cast Iron Pulley Edison Lamp - Metal & Woodworking How to
In this video I make a pulley styled lamp from an old treadle sewing machine base. The base was cracked in several places and wasn't suitable for a table or the like.
This is a pretty straight forward project. I tried to cover all of the steps to make it achievable for just about anybody. Of course the tools are the limitation. But maybe you have a friend that can help with that.
You can find old treadle sewing machines on Craigslist if you keep an eye on the listings. Sometimes it's just the base for sale. I've purchased a few bases for $25.
I really like the cast iron pulley look. This type of industrial edison lamp is always fun to make.

Tool
A tool is any physical item that can be used to achieve a goal, especially if the item is not consumed in the process. Tool use by humans dates back millions of years, and other animals are also known to employ simple tools.
Tools that are used in particular fields or activities may have different designations such as "instrument", "utensil", "implement", "machine", "device," or "apparatus". The set of tools needed to achieve a goal is "equipment". The knowledge of constructing, obtaining and using tools is technology.
History
Anthropologists believe that the use of tools was an important step in the evolution of mankind. Because tools are used extensively by both humans and wild chimpanzees, it is widely assumed that the first routine use of tools took place prior to the divergence between the two species. These early tools, however, were likely made of perishable materials such as sticks, or consisted of unmodified stones that cannot be distinguished from other stones as tools.
Stone artifacts only date back to about 2.5 million years ago. However, a 2010 study suggests the hominin species Australopithecus afarensis ate meat by carving animal carcasses with stone implements. This finding pushes back the earliest known use of stone tools among hominins to about 3.4 million years ago.

Iron horse
"Iron horse" is an iconic literary term (currently transitioning into an archaic reference) for a steam locomotive, originating in the early Victorian culture (1825–35) when horses still powered most machinery, excepting windmills and stationary steam engines. The term was common and popular in both British and North American literary articles.
Use of the term
Origin
Iron Horse was used admiringly when comparing early road and railroad traction engines performance to slower, less powerful horse powered tramways. The Iron Horse term became widely popularized and found frequent use in the century and a half following the competition won by Stephenson's Rocket, in innumerable newspaper articles as well as in various novels. The term's place as a cultural icon is shown by the sheer number of things named after it, and its use in films, other media, and as a term of endearment.
Decline
It began to decline in use, at least in North American colloquial expression, or as a reference term of art in the information industries with the decline in rail passenger service in the age of the U.S. Interstate Highway System.

Stacked Brick Arch - Mold set A precast mold set that will create variable sized, rock solid, heirloom bench. Each leg is composed of a beautifully arranged brick stacked arch that gracefully extends skyward to create the backrest support. This bench will look great in a variety of places including parks, storefronts, homes This mold set has a left and right leg, and is designed to be stamped on the open side of the mold(inner) to provide a perfect 360 degree texture on the pieces, something not done from any other precast systems. This provides complete realism to the piece. The installer can choose the length of the bench by cutting the chosen lumber to desired the length. One can use 1x2 inch or 1x3 inch of a chosen outdoor hardwood. The included threaded inserts are installed into the mold setup before pouring and accept a set of included flush head allen screws. (hardware kits available seperate also). The benches can be colored in any manner desired. Assembling the bench on a flat surface will ensure bench stablity. The bench provides a positive posture and is comfortable for people of most height ranges. This polyurethane mold set can be used over and over without worry of fatigue and failure. Industrial Cast Iron Pulley Edison Lamp - Metal & Woodworking How to
In this video I make a pulley styled lamp from an old treadle sewing machine base. The base was cracked in several places and wasn't suitable for a table or the like.
This is a pretty straight forward project. I tried to cover all of the steps to make it achievable for just about anybody. Of course the tools are the limitation. But maybe you have a friend that can help with that.
You can find old treadle sewing machines on Craigslist if you keep an eye on the listings. Sometimes it's just the base for sale. I've purchased a few bases for $25.
I really like the cast iron pulley look. This type of industrial edison lamp is always fun to make.

A precast mold set that will create variable sized, rock solid, heirloom bench. Each leg is composed of a beautifully arranged brick stacked arch that gracefully extends skyward to create the backrest support. This bench will look great in a variety of places including parks, storefronts, homes
This mold set has a left and right leg, and is designed to be stamped on the open side of the mold(inner) to provide a perfect 360 degree texture on the pieces, something not done from any other precast systems. This provides complete realism to the piece.
The installer can choose the length of the bench by cutting the chosen lumber to desired the length. One can use 1x2 inch or 1x3 inch of a chosen outdoor hardwood. The included threaded inserts are installed into the mold setup before pouring and accept a set of included flush head allen screws. (hardware kits available seperate also). The benches can be colored in any manner desired.
Assembling the bench on a flat surface will ensure bench stablity. The bench provides a positive posture and is comfortable for people of most height ranges.
This polyurethane mold set can be used over and over without worry of fatigue and failure.
The two piece(4 with stamp covers) mold set weighs 180 lbs and requires a large flat(sturdy) surface for proper pouring.
Concrete can be a choice of high strength countertop mix such as Tru Kast, or use Tru Pac C ad pacs for the best of high performance and value.
Reinforcement of concrete to industry standards recommended.

An update on the 1930s, Japanese eyedropper fountain pen I'm hoping to repair. The ink shut off shaft boss is now off the pen! Casting a C ring tool from metal epoxy worked; this clip shows the undamaged boss. Now, how do I get to the sealing material? Good question!

I fail spectacularly to make good use of my new camera, but the high resolution provides excellent views of the place on my arm where my cockatoo tried to practice dermatology on me with his beak. I am trying to make a tapped wheel for a Moxon woodworking vise, using soft jaws in the metal lathe. I got very little done, but there was considerable hilarity.

The Water Wolf HD Underwater Camera is shaped like a popping plug. It was originally designed for carp anglers. Since then accessorized brackets have been added for vertigo jigging to a bottom fishing rig. For me i have a problem with the bottom fishing rig. It was designed to release the custom sized lead weight when the fish struck. For my applications this is to costly. The cost of buying a 2-pack lead replacement kit with postage was $36! So i "McGyvered" my own simple solution. To insure my rig doesn't get stuck i tried it in a area that i'm familiar with so i won't lose my unit. I was happy that my simple modifications worked. First, on the portion of "Isaam and Rylan," there is " My Title," as it reads. Just "pieces left," from me typing Dialogue and forgot it was there, lol. 2nd, on the portion of which Jayshawn is being told details at the beginning, the clip decided it wasn't gonna show up, even tho I had it there, lol.
Other then that, no other problems. So enjoy, and let me know who ya'll favorites were, and WHAT and how excited you are to hear about their being a film. If this one is successful, there will be MORE ideas/shows, movies up ahead. All with working with my bff Mr. C.Fredricks. BUT, I'll be sure to post it on YT and not just twitter so I can give EVERYONE a chance to respond, thanks and enjoy! ♥♥

I fail spectacularly to make good use of my new camera, but the high resolution provides excellent views of the place on my arm where my cockatoo tried to practice dermatology on me with his beak.
I am trying to make a tapped wheel for a Moxon woodworking vise, using soft jaws in the metal lathe. I got very little done, but there was considerable hilarity.

The Water Wolf HD Underwater Camera is shaped like a popping plug. It was originally designed for carp anglers. Since then accessorized brackets have been added for vertigo jigging to a bottom fishing rig. For me i have a problem with the bottom fishing rig. It was designed to release the custom sized lead weight when the fish struck.
For my applications this is to costly. The cost of buying a 2-pack lead replacement kit with postage was $36! So i "McGyvered" my own simple solution. To insure my rig doesn't get stuck i tried it in a area that i'm familiar with so i won't lose my unit.
I was happy that my simple modifications worked. Would've been nice to hook-up but this was a experimentation day. This rig will work well in sandy/muddy areas free of obstructions.

Whenever someone asks me what I do for a living, I tell them that my job is to take software from idea to release as efficiently as possible. I provide this service for multiple teams as a time, without writing a single test case. But in my journey to here, it made me question what the role of a tester really is. My conclusion was that testing is not a role - it is an activity. My role therefore is to embed that activity in the software development process, shortening the feedback loop between creation and verification as much as I can. In this talk I will explain what this involves, why it's awesome and what it means for you as a tester, a software developer, a software engineering manager, and for the budding entrepreneur who's thinking of building a startup in the next couple of years.

This video shows how to change the oil in a Fox Step-Cast mountain bike fork. This is an intermediate to advanced service procedure. Plan for about 1.5 hours the first time you do this.
Note: you should wear rubber gloves when doing this procedure. Due to having to operate a camera and washing my hands very frequently, I did not wear gloves in this video.

To replicate our 3D prints, we invited Frank Ippolito up to Adam's shop to teach us how to make simple rubber molds and cast awesome resin copies. It's really not difficult to get started!

During the previous episodes we made several refactoring up to extracting a separate class. This class is covered by the big characterization tests, but that might not be enough.
This video will show you how to start writing unit tests on the existing class, that we just extracted from the big ugly code. Some of the things we find in the code could be bugs or features, so we will note with an adnotation which current behaviour we consider to be a bug.
