Last Tuesday, right before we were set to tape Collider Nightmares, the first trailer for the feature film
adaptation of
M. R. Carey’s best selling novel “The Girl With All The Gifts” hit the web. The synopsis goes, that in the near future humanity has been all but destroyed by a mutated fungal disease that eradicates free will and turns its victims into flesh-eating “hungries”. Only a small group of children seem immune to its effects.
Jim Carrey has come onboard
Steven Spielberg’s
Amblin Entertainment produced adaptation of the genre novel Aleister Arcane. Set to be directed by
Eli Roth and based on the 2004 comic,
The Hollywood Reporter notes that the comic tells the story of “a
Los Angeles weatherman named Aleister
Green who returns to his hometown to host a
midnight horror show a la
Elvira. Under the guise of a mad scientist named Aleister Arcane.
Almost Human director Joe Begos’s latest The Mind’s Eye comes to theaters later this summer and fans looking forward to his sophomore effort were recently treated to a trailer for the film. Now, they’re getting even more of a look into the project with a bloody new poster. The Mind’s Eye tells the story of Zack Connors and
Rachel Meadows, both of whom were born with incredible psychokinetic abilities.
This week the trailer for MORGAN, the directorial debut of
Luke Scott, son of
Ridley Scott, hit the web. After a small and powerful teaser piqued the audience interest, the latest is a full three minute look at the
Kate Mara,
Anya Taylor-Joy sci-fi feature. According to
Deadline, "Kate Mara stars as a corporate troubleshooter who’s sent to a remote, top-secret location, where she is to investigate and evaluate a terrifying accident.
What's in the Box
After a couple of short teasers came online the first official full length trailer for
Guillermo del Toro and
Carlton Cuse’s third season of the FX hit vampire drama,
The Strain, has been released. Reminding audiences that it’s been less than a month since the plague was unleashed on
New York City, it’s become very clear that it can no longer be denied — the city is rapidly falling to an evil epidemic, and no one is coming to its rescue. Its citizens must fight or die.
Hulu’s new anthology series “Dimension 404” has added three new cast members to the previously announced names
Lea Michelle, iZombie’s
Robert Buckley,
Trophy Wife’s
Ryan Lee. This week we learned that
Patton Oswalt,
Ashley Rickards, and
Sterling Beaumon have joined the cast as well.
Monster of the Week
The Omen turns the big 4-0 this week. Directed by
Richard Donner, featuring an iconic score by
Jerry Goldsmith, and staring
Hollywood icon
Gregory Peck, The Omen was a serious and scary horror movie made for adults and spawned multiple sequels and a

Damien.
