i heared they were testing the flood warning system down my road so i went and called for curtis so we could watch it and naturaly i brought my camera. i last heared this noise 1995 when my house was flooded and my home destroyed in the seaside village of Chiswell. it is below sealevel and backs on to the world famous chesil beach. the siren itself is an original government issue castle castings and served as an early warning system in the event of nuclear fall out during the cold war it was later converted to be sounded by the police station everytime someone escaped from the prison on the island. it was finaly converted to become one of two sirens that sounded whenever there is a violent storm out to sea that could risk the village flooding. the electronic systems have changed and the other siren out of the two has since been replaced due to a fault but this siren is an original from the cold war. in my local area many of the air raid sirens and cold war sirens are still in situe left unused for many years only these two are still in operation. if you have any more questions you wuld like to ask or would like more information on any part of this video please comment and we will reply.

This song is "Sirens" off their new 2015 album of the same name.
I only recorded a few songs as I wanted to enjoy the performance and try not to be a distraction to those around me so some of the footage is low and between people's heads in front of me. For those who weren't able to be there I hope this gives you a small taste of the fantastic evening we had with Steve & Deb and the rest of the band. I hope you can catch them live if they come anywhere close to where you live! Definitely worth it!
This night was extra special as it was my wife's birthday the next day and I surprised her by having us show up at the concert Friday night without her knowing. This was the 3rd time we've seen The Weepies together and my 4th. A huge thanks to Steve & Deb for coming to Portland and sharing their wonderful songs and selves with us!

A Day Called X is a dramatized Civil Defense documentary set in Portland, Oregon ("roughly the size of Hiroshima"), in which the entire city is evacuated in anticipation of a nuclear air raid, after Soviet bombers had been detected by radar stations to the north. The film opens with an overhead shot of then-mayor Terry Schrunk striding purposefully into the old underground Kelly Butte Civil Defense Center—a bunker-like structure built into a hillside. The film details the activation of the city's civil defense protocols and leads up to the moment before the attack (the ending is left intentionally unknown). The operations were run from the Kelly Butte Bunker, which was the EOC during the time. It was filmed in September 1957 and shown in December of that year. Apart from presenter/narrator Glenn Ford, none of the people shown are actors. They are locals of Portland shown in their real jobs, including Schrunk.
The film was produced by CBS Public Affairs in conjunction with the Federal Civil Defense Administration.
On September 27, 1955, Portland actually conducted an exercise evacuation of downtown called "Operation Greenlight", and the film is often misattributed to that year. Ford's narration, however, does make direct reference to the 1955 exercise.
This print of the film came out of the estate of filmmaker Harry Rasky, and is one of the best we've seen. Rasky was born in Toronto into a Jewish family, where he completed studies at University College. He participated in CBC Television's first four years writing and producing CBC Newsmagazine (1952-1955). He also produced a documentary for the 1961 debut evening of CTV Television Network. He earned more than 200 awards during his career in which his films numbered more than 400.

Two brand new 2017 Ford Police Interceptor Utility's of the Portland Police Department (Portland Bureau of Police/ PPB) are here seen responding code 3 with lights and sirens. They must have been in a hurry, they flew by fire station 7. Engine 7 responded to a call a couple of minutes earlier.
These Ford Utility Police Interceptor (police car) are equipped with 360° emergency lighting (from Whelen I believe) and with a wraparound pushbar. The second police car is equipped with an ANPR-camera (,Automatic Number Plate Recognition)

Warped Tour

Sleeping with Sirens
Sleeping with Sirens is an American rock band from Orlando, Florida currently residing in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The band was formed in 2009 by members of For All We Know, Broadway, and Paddock Park. They are currently signed to Epitaph Records and have released four full-length albums and an acoustic EP. Their third album Feel debuted at No. 3 on the US Billboard 200, and a fourth album entitled Madness was released on March 17, 2015 through Epitaph Records and spawned the single "Kick Me". The group is known primarily for the versatility of vocalist Kellin Quinn's leggero tenor vocal range.

Delta Machine Tour
Delta Machine Tour was a worldwide concert tour by English electronic music band Depeche Mode in support of the group's 13th studio album, Delta Machine, released 22 March 2013. Following a warm-up show in Nice, France on 4 May 2013, the tour kicked off in Tel Aviv, Israel, and continued through Europe until late July, culminating in Minsk - the group's first performance in Belarus. A North American tour followed in late August, beginning in the Detroit suburb of Clarkston, Michigan and culminating in Austin, Texas in early October. The band performed at the Austin City Limits Music Festival, which in 2013 was held across two weekends for the first time. A second leg in Europe went from 3 November Abu Dhabi to 7 March 2014 Moscow. Among the dates were Dublin, Amsterdam, Oslo and Belfast, their first shows in Northern Ireland in almost 30 years.
The 25 and 27 November 2013 nights in Berlin were filmed by Anton Corbijn and recorded for the CD/DVD release Depeche Mode Live in Berlin, released 17 November 2014.

i heared they were testing the flood warning system down my road so i went and called for curtis so we could watch it and naturaly i brought my camera. i last heared this noise 1995 when my house was flooded and my home destroyed in the seaside village of Chiswell. it is below sealevel and backs on to the world famous chesil beach. the siren itself is an original government issue castle castings and served as an early warning system in the event of nuclear fall out during the cold war it was later converted to be sounded by the police station everytime someone escaped from the prison on the island. it was finaly converted to become one of two sirens that sounded whenever there is a violent storm out to sea that could risk the village flooding. the electronic systems have changed and the other siren out of the two has since been replaced due to a fault but this siren is an original from the cold war. in my local area many of the air raid sirens and cold war sirens are still in situe left unused for many years only these two are still in operation. if you have any more questions you wuld like to ask or would like more information on any part of this video please comment and we will reply.

This song is "Sirens" off their new 2015 album of the same name.
I only recorded a few songs as I wanted to enjoy the performance and try not to be a distraction to those around me so some of the footage is low and between people's heads in front of me. For those who weren't able to be there I hope this gives you a small taste of the fantastic evening we had with Steve & Deb and the rest of the band. I hope you can catch them live if they come anywhere close to where you live! Definitely worth it!
This night was extra special as it was my wife's birthday the next day and I surprised her by having us show up at the concert Friday night without her knowing. The film opens with an overhead shot of then-mayor Terry Schrunk striding purposefully into the old underground Kelly Butte Civil Defense Center—a bunker-like structure built into a hillside. The film details the activation of the city's civil defense protocols and leads up to the moment before the attack (the ending is left intentionally unknown). The operations were run from the Kelly Butte Bunker, which was the EOC during the time. It was filmed in September 1957 and shown in December of that year. Apart from presenter/narrator Glenn Ford, none of the people shown are actors. They are locals of Portland shown in their real jobs, including Schrunk.
The film was produced by CBS Public Affairs in conjunction with the Federal Civil Defense Administration.
On September 27, 1955, Portland actually conducted an exercise evacuation of downtown called "Operation Greenlight", and the film is often misattributed to that year. Ford's narration, however, does make direct reference to the 1955 exercise.
This print of the film came out of the estate of filmmaker Harry Rasky, and is one of the best we've seen. Rasky was born in Toronto into a Jewish family, where he completed studies at University College. He participated in CBC Television's first four years writing and producing CBC Newsmagazine (1952-1955). He also produced a documentary for the 1961 debut evening of CTV Television Network. He earned more than 200 awards during his career in which his films numbered more than 400.

I contacted The Weepies and received permission to upload this live concert footage from Friday, June 5th, 2015 at Revolution Hall in Portland, OR. This song is "Sirens" off their new 2015 album of the same name. I only recorded a few songs as I wanted to enjoy the performance and try not to be a distraction to those around me so some of the footage is low and between people's heads in front of me. For those who weren't able to be there I hope this gives you a small taste of the fantastic evening we had with Steve & Deb and the rest of the band. I hope you can catch them live if they come anywhere close to where you live! Definitely worth it! THE DAY CALLED 'X' NUCLEAR ATTACK ON PORTLAND OREGON COLD WAR FILM 71622
A Day Called X is a dramatized Civil Defense documentary set in Portland, Oregon ("roughly the size of Hiroshima"), in which the entire city is evacuated in anticipation of a nuclear air raid, after Soviet bombers had been detected by radar stations to the north. The film opens with an overhead shot of then-mayor Terry Schrunk striding purposefully into the old underground Kelly Butte Civil Defense Center—a bunker-like structure built into a hillside. The film details the activation of the city's civil defense protocols and leads up to the moment before the attack (the ending is left intentionally unknown). 2 police cars responding after each other. Two brand new 2017 Ford Police Interceptor Utility's of the Portland Police Department (Portland Bureau of Police/ PPB) are here seen responding code 3 with lights and sirens. They must have been in a hurry, they flew by fire station 7. Engine 7 responded to a call a couple of minutes earlier. These Ford Utility Police Interceptor (police car) are equipped with 360° emergency lighting (from Whelen I believe) and with a wraparound pushbar. The second police car is equipped with an ANPR-camera (,Automatic Number Plate Recognition) 2 voitures police Portland en urgence. 2 Gloednieuwe politievoertuigen met spoed in Portland. i heared they were testing the flood warning system down my road so i went and called for curtis so we could watch it and naturaly i brought my camera. i last heared this noise 1995 when my house was flooded and my home destroyed in the seaside village of Chiswell. it is below sealevel and backs on to the world famous chesil beach. the siren itself is an original government issue castle castings and served as an early warning system in the event of nuclear fall out during the cold war it was later converted to be sounded by the police station everytime someone escaped from the prison on the island. it was finaly converted to become one of two sirens that sounded whenever there is a violent storm out to sea that could risk the village flooding. the electronic systems have changed and the other siren out of the two has since been replaced due to a fault but this siren is an original from the cold war. in my local area many of the air raid sirens and cold war sirens are still in situe left unused for many years only these two are still in operation. if you have any more questions you wuld like to ask or would like more information on any part of this video please comment and we will reply.

Apart from presenter/narrator Glenn Ford, none of the people shown are actors. They are locals of Portland shown in their real jobs, including Schrunk.
The film was produced by CBS Public Affairs in conjunction with the Federal Civil Defense Administration.
On September 27, 1955, Portland actually conducted an exercise evacuation of downtown called "Operation Greenlight", and the film is often misattributed to that year. Ford's narration, however, does make direct reference to the 1955 exercise.
This print of the film came out of the estate of filmmaker Harry Rasky, and is one of the best we've seen. Rasky was born in Toronto into a Jewish family, where he completed studies at University College. He participated in CBC Television's first four years writing and producing CBC Newsmagazine (1952-1955). He also produced a documentary for the 1961 debut evening of CTV Television Network. He earned more than 200 awards during his career in which his films numbered more than 400.

TRIP REPORT: RIC-CLT-MKE on American Airlines (A319, E175)
I was back out in Virginia again last month, visiting my mom before I went back to college. I decided to upload the return trip first for the heck of it. Milwaukee to Richmond is a very common route for me now, but I flew American, instead of Delta. Also, this was taken in the opposite direction. I do, however, have a trip report coming in the future of my experience coming out to Richmond. I originally didn't plan on doing a report on that, but it turned interesting, right before I left home. As with this return trip, I flew on an Airbus A319 and an Embraer 175 (both have flown for US Airways) connecting in Charlotte. Nice aerial views of all three cities are shown. TRIP REPORT: MKE-ATL-RIC on Delta Air Lines (737-900ER, MD-88)
It's Trip Report Time! Once again, we are going to Richmond, Virginia. RIC and maybe PHF and ORF will be airports I'll be flying to a lot from Milwaukee for the next few years, as I'll be out in this area often now. I'll probably be back out here around mid to late August. For this routing, I fly Delta again, but I get to connect in Atlanta rather than New York LaGuardia. Since that's the case, I'm flying on mainline jets rather than regionals. My first flight is on a nice brand new 737-900ER (lots of Early Morning Midwestern scenery on this flight) and then connecting to an MD-88 going to Richmond, after a 3 and a half hour layover. A Day Called X is a dramatized Civil Defense documentary set in Portland, Oregon ("roughly the size of Hiroshima"), in which the entire city is evacuated in anticipation of a nuclear air raid, after Soviet bombers had been detected by radar stations to the north. The film opens with an overhead shot of then-mayor Terry Schrunk striding purposefully into the old underground Kelly Butte Civil Defense Center—a bunker-like structure built into a hillside. The film details the activation of the city's civil defense protocols and leads up to the moment before the attack (the ending is left intentionally unknown). The operations were run from the Kelly Butte Bunker, which was the EOC during the time. It was filmed in September 1957 and shown in December of that year. Apart from presenter/narrator Glenn Ford, none of the people shown are actors. They are locals of Portland shown in their real jobs, including Schrunk.
The film was produced by CBS Public Affairs in conjunction with the Federal Civil Defense Administration.
On September 27, 1955, Portland actually conducted an exercise evacuation of downtown called "Operation Greenlight", and the film is often misattributed to that year. Ford's narration, however, does make direct reference to the 1955 exercise.
This print of the film came out of the estate of filmmaker Harry Rasky, and is one of the best we've seen. Rasky was born in Toronto into a Jewish family, where he completed studies at University College. He participated in CBC Television's first four years writing and producing CBC Newsmagazine (1952-1955). He also produced a documentary for the 1961 debut evening of CTV Television Network. He earned more than 200 awards during his career in which his films numbered more than 400.

German emergency services responding with dozens of vehicles:
The explosion of a big oil tank and a ship crash in the harbor of Fuerth - that results in a response of approximately 70 emergency vehicles with a crew of 350 man and women.
Luckily the scenario was just a huge disaster management drill, which has to be held as realistic as possible and at least once every 6 years.
Apart from the Fuerth FD (paid, full-time FD), which remained at the station for the case of real emergencies (only the command, the very first one in the video, responded to the scene), the drill indeed was very realistic. At the beginning you can see the 1st alarm units from the Fuerth VFD (Command, Portable Pump Van, 2 Engines), the Emergency Doctor Car and 2 Ambulances from the Bavarian Red Cross, and a minute later the EMS Chief. The first units explored the scene and as they saw that 1st alarm isn't enough, they began dispatching further units. Right after the EMS Chief arrived on scene, you can hear the alarm tones on the radio and the alarm sirens going off. A short time afterwards further units from the Fuerth Volunteer Fire Department, from the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) primary EMS, Disaster Management and Water Rescue, from the German Lifeguard Association (DLRG) and from the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW - the blue trucks) responded to the scene as well. Even the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration came to the harbor, but their units don't have emergency lights and sirens (e.g. the one at 18:55 ).
What had to be done: Concerning the tank explosion: extinguishing the fire, cooling down the other oil tanks and measuring gas concentrations in the area. Concerning the ship crash they had to block the oil spill on the water. On both scenarios wounded people had to be rescued. 50 people simulated the victims, which also had to be taken to the ermegcyn room at the Hospital Fuerth - just being able to rescue the victims, but then not being able to enlarge the capacity at the hospital's emergency room wouldn't help very much, that's why also hospitals take part in these drills.
It was a very successfull drill both for the ermergency services and for us filmers.

German emergency services responding with dozens of vehicles:
The explosion of a big oil tank and a ship crash in the harbor of Fuerth - that results in a response of approximately 70 emergency vehicles with a crew of 350 man and women.
Luckily the scenario was just a huge disaster management drill, which has to be held as realistic as possible and at least once every 6 years.
Apart from the Fuerth FD (paid, full-time FD), which remained at the station for the case of real emergencies (only the command, the very first one in the video, responded to the scene), the drill indeed was very realistic. At the beginning you can see the 1st alarm units from the Fuerth VFD (Command, Portable Pump Van, 2 Engines), the Emergency Doctor Car and 2 Ambulances from the Bavarian Red Cross, and a minute later the EMS Chief. The first units explored the scene and as they saw that 1st alarm isn't enough, they began dispatching further units. Right after the EMS Chief arrived on scene, you can hear the alarm tones on the radio and the alarm sirens going off. A short time afterwards further units from the Fuerth Volunteer Fire Department, from the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) primary EMS, Disaster Management and Water Rescue, from the German Lifeguard Association (DLRG) and from the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW - the blue trucks) responded to the scene as well. Even the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration came to the harbor, but their units don't have emergency lights and sirens (e.g. the one at 18:55 ).
What had to be done: Concerning the tank explosion: extinguishing the fire, cooling down the other oil tanks and measuring gas concentrations in the area. Concerning the ship crash they had to block the oil spill on the water. On both scenarios wounded people had to be rescued. 50 people simulated the victims, which also had to be taken to the ermegcyn room at the Hospital Fuerth - just being able to rescue the victims, but then not being able to enlarge the capacity at the hospital's emergency room wouldn't help very much, that's why also hospitals take part in these drills.
It was a very successfull drill both for the ermergency services and for us filmers.

I was back out in Virginia again last month, visiting my mom before I went back to college. I decided to upload the return trip first for the heck of it. Milwaukee to Richmond is a very common route for me now, but I flew American, instead of Delta. Also, this was taken in the opposite direction. I do, however, have a trip report coming in the future of my experience coming out to Richmond. I originally didn't plan on doing a report on that, but it turned interesting, right before I left home. As with this return trip, I flew on an Airbus A319 and an Embraer 175 (both have flown for US Airways) connecting in Charlotte. Nice aerial views of all three cities are shown. Awesome view of Richmond on takeoff, and an awesome view of Milwaukee on landing. Skip to 25:10 if you want to see for yourself. I've been trying to capture that landing (while on the F side) for a very long time now. When I flew back from Richmond on Delta in June, I landed coming from the north too, but I sat on the A side. (It was a CRJ-200 from Detroit) A bonus clip from that landing is included before the end of the report.

It's Trip Report Time! Once again, we are going to Richmond, Virginia. RIC and maybe PHF and ORF will be airports I'll be flying to a lot from Milwaukee for the next few years, as I'll be out in this area often now. I'll probably be back out here around mid to late August.
For this routing, I fly Delta again, but I get to connect in Atlanta rather than New York LaGuardia. Since that's the case, I'm flying on mainline jets rather than regionals. My first flight is on a nice brand new 737-900ER (lots of Early Morning Midwestern scenery on this flight) and then connecting to an MD-88 going to Richmond, after a 3 and a half hour layover. I also include some preview videos from this trip of what's coming soon to this channel. This trip lasted for about 3 weeks, so a lot still has to be uploaded on here.
