Here's my initial review of the Benchmade 15031-1 North Fork folding hunter. Part of Benchmade's new "Hunt" series of knifes, the North Fork fills the void left by the Mini Bone Collector, which has been discontinued. While better than the MBC in several ways, there are features of the discontinued blade I'm sorry to see go. All in all, the North Fork is a credible replacement, and a pretty excellent small hunting blade.
The competition at year three of the North Fork Championship was brought to new levels, with incredible feats of kayaking during races all weekend. Athletes travelled from all corners of the globe to the North Fork of the Payette to compete for the NFC Crown and title of the world’s best big water paddler.
NFC III was all-time with the largest crowds to date, filled with massive amounts of support, and continually drawing more of the best kayakers in the world to race and ride this amazing river.
So many THANK YOU’S to all those involved with helping make this event go off!!
The NFC is FIRED UP to continue hosting the highest level of competitive kayaking.

At the The tip of the fork are Orient Point County Park and Orient Beach State Park as well as an often busy ferry terminal connecting Long Island and eastern Connecticut. Areas like Mattituck, Cutchogue, Peconic, Southold, Greenport, East Marion, Orient, and Orient Point are the hamlets on the North Fork. The North Fork also offers fishing, crabbing, and clamming on the bay, sound and adjacent creeks and beaches.

However, in the small town of Northfork, the townspeople are being evacuated because of the construction of a dam that will wash away their homes. A group of trench-coat-wearing government employees, hired to get rid of the proud few who remain, go about the business of destroying lives with efficiency. Meanwhile, a young orphan boy lies sick in bed, being cared for by a devoted priest. The boy's fever dreams include fantastic beings that might be angels... but are they simply in his head?

FILM DESCRIPTION:
What was once a brave frontier town has become a haven for enlightened oddballs in this unusual drama from director Michael Polish, written in collaboration with his twin brother, Mark Polish. Northfork is a small town in Montana which, in 1955, is soon to disappear in the name of progress; a massive hydroelectric dam is to be put in nearby, which will flood the entire village. A group of six men sent by the power company -- led by Walter O'Brien (James Woods) and his son Willis (Mark Polish) -- arrive in Northfork to evacuate the few remaining residents. If the men are successful, they'll each be given parcels of land on the banks of the new lake which will be where Northfork once stood. Most of the townspeople have already left, but a few remain, among them Father Harlan (Nick Nolte), a man of the cloth who is caring for Irwin (Duel Farnes), a strange, scarred boy apparently on his deathbed, and a handful of enchanted eccentrics who have taken over a local bar, including Flower Hercules (Daryl Hannah), Cup of Tea (Robin Sachs), Happy (Anthony Edwards), and Cod (Ben Foster). As Walter and Willis try to persuade the stubborn stragglers to move on, Walter must search for a new final resting place for his late wife, whose coffin is the last to be relocated after Northfork's cemetery is dug up. Northfork received its world premier at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival.

Here's my initial review of the Benchmade 15031-1 North Fork folding hunter. Part of Benchmade's new "Hunt" series of knifes, the North Fork fills the void left by the Mini Bone Collector, which has been discontinued. While better than the MBC in several ways, there are features of the discontinued blade I'm sorry to see go. All in all, the North Fork is a credible replacement, and a pretty excellent small hunting blade.

Athletes travelled from all corners of the globe to the North Fork of the Payette to compete for the NFC Crown and title of the world’s best big water paddler.
NFC III was all-time with the largest crowds to date, filled with massive amounts of support, and continually drawing more of the best kayakers in the world to race and ride this amazing river.
So many THANK YOU’S to all those involved with helping make this event go off!!

As Walter and Willis try to persuade the stubborn stragglers to move on, Walter must search for a new final resting place for his late wife, whose coffin is the last to be relocated after Northfork's cemetery is dug up. Northfork received its world premier at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival.

North Fork trees
North Fork Siuslaw Road was closed between mileposts 15.7 and 15.9 after a landslide on December 18, 2015. The area, located at the bottom of a large hill, was determined to be too unstable to clear until dry summer conditions reduced the risk of additional slides. Lane County crews worked this summer to clear the debris and reduce future landslide risk by removing trees above the roadway made unstable by the landslide and in danger of falling when the ground becomes saturated.

Smoke Hole North Fork Mountain
Smoke Hole Recreation Area in the Monongahela National Forest is a popular area for a wide array of visitors located a short drive south of Petersburg WV. Smoke Hole is located on the South Branch of the Potomac River, providing excellent fishing and boating activities. North Fork Mountain that looks over the river valley also overlooks Seneca Rocks from the back side. North Fork Mountain provides hiking and forest road adventures. Although the main roads through Smoke Hole are paved and county maintained, the forest roads including FR 79 are rough and 4WD is recommended. FR 79 has a number of mud holes near the power lines at the top of the mountain. FR 79 ends at a trail head.

Little North Fork Santiam River gold prospecting
Prospecting for gold on the Little North Fork Santiam River in Marion county, Oregon with a sluice box. I dug to bedrock in a gravel bar with minimal results, then found some decent gold digging behind a bounder and in moss. Didn't find much for the day, but I'm still learning. There is a huge amount of public access in this area, both above and below this claim. Remember to follow the regulations and clean up after yourself and fill your holes in. Smoke Hole Recreation Area in the Monongahela National Forest is a popular area for a wide array of visitors located a short drive south of Petersburg WV. Smoke Hole is located on the South Branch of the Potomac River, providing excellent fishing and boating activities. North Fork Mountain that looks over the river valley also overlooks Seneca Rocks from the back side. North Fork Mountain provides hiking and forest road adventures. Although the main roads through Smoke Hole are paved and county maintained, the forest roads including FR 79 are rough and 4WD is recommended. FR 79 has a number of mud holes near the power lines at the top of the mountain. FR 79 ends at a trail head.

Prospecting for gold on the Little North Fork Santiam River in Marion county, Oregon with a sluice box.
I dug to bedrock in a gravel bar with minimal results, then found some decent gold digging behind a bounder and in moss. Didn't find much for the day, but I'm still learning.
There is a huge amount of public access in this area, both above and below this claim. Remember to follow the regulations and clean up after yourself and fill your holes in.
