Marimar Quiora once hid her face from strangers in the street, but now proudly bares her beauty to millions of people who follow her online. This is the incredible moment a humpback whale feeds just feet away from docked boats showing off his giant mouth.
Fisherman Cy Williams watched as the behemoth majestically beached the surface of the water at Knudson Cove Marina, Alaska, USA.
As Cy tried to follow the whale’s path under the stationary vessels – including his own – on Monday May 2, he spotted bubbles heading toward the surface.
Suddenly the gaping jaws of the mammoth mammal shot into the air, taking a massive gulp on the way back.

I was diving Blairgowrie Yacht Marina on the Mornington Peninsula (Tuesday April 10th 2012) when I cam across two stargazers - these fish are called this because when they are buried all you can see are their eyes and the rim of their mouth... and it looks like they are gazing upwards... and they often look angry and groosim!
The smaller of the two stargazer's lunged from the sand after I had whisked away the light cover of sand that was camouflaging it. The fish then opened its mouth ever so wide and then emerged from its buried position and swam away. I followed it, filming as it came to a stop about 5 metres away, then proceeded to bury itself again - agh, the wonders of nature under water!
I think the one I filmed is either the Easter Stargazer or the Common Stargazer.

The stargazers are a family Uranoscopidae. They have eyes on top of their heads (hence the name). The family includes about 51 species (one extinct) in 8 genera, all marine and found worldwide in shallow waters.
In addition to the top-mounted eyes, stargazers also have a large upward-facing mouth in a large head. Their usual habit is to bury themselves in sand, and leap upwards to ambush prey (benthic fish and invertebrates) that pass overhead. Lengths range from 18 cm up to 90 cm, for the giant stargazer Kathetostoma giganteum.
Stargazers are venomous; they have two large poisonous spines situated behind the opercle and above the pectoral fins. Some species can also cause electric shocks. They have an electric organ consisting of modified eye muscles. They are one of the few marine bony fishes that are electrogenic.

Big Mouth
Big Mouth (Lakota: Itȟáŋka) (born 1822–died October 29, 1869) was an Oglala-born leader of the Brulé Lakota, highly regarded by the Brulé for his bravery and aggressive military leadership. He was one of the signers of the second Treaty of Fort Laramie in 1868 and remained a bitter opponent of further American settlement, ridiculing Spotted Tail and other Sioux leaders upon their return from a mission to Washington, D.C.. He was the first son of Old Chief Smoke (1774–1864) and his third wife, Burnt Her Woman. His twin brother was Blue Horse.
One of the principal leaders at the Whetstone Indian Agency, located along the Missouri River, where most of the Brulé and Oglala bands had gathered, Big Mouth gained increasing support for his stance among members of the tribe. He criticized what he described as Spotted Tail's reversal of Sioux policy, saying Spotted Tail had been entertained by American politicians and given a personal tour through the major cities of the east coast. Faced with increasing opposition to his leadership, Spotted Tail visited Big Mouth at his lodge, where, upon approaching the entrance, Big Mouth was seized by two warriors and held down while Spotted Tail shot and killed him.

The Smurfs
The Smurfs (French: Les Schtroumpfs) (Dutch: De Smurfen) is a Belgian comic and television franchise centered on a fictional colony of small blue creatures who live in mushroom-shaped houses in the forest. The Smurfs was first created and introduced as a series of comic characters by the Belgian comics artist Peyo (pen name of Pierre Culliford) in 1958, where they were known as Les Schtroumpfs. There are more than one hundred Smurf characters, and their names are based on adjectives that emphasize their characteristics, such as "Jokey Smurf", who likes to play practical jokes on his fellow smurfs. "Smurfette" was the first female Smurf to be introduced in the series. The Smurfs wear Phrygian caps, which came to represent freedom during the modern era.
The word “Smurf” is the original Dutch translation of the French "Schtroumpf", which, according to Peyo, is a word invented during a meal with fellow cartoonist André Franquin, when he could not remember the word salt.
The Smurfs franchise began as a comic and expanded into advertising, films, TV series, ice capades, video games, theme parks, and dolls.

A 21-YEAR-OLD vlogger is making a name for herself on YouTube with her make-up tutorials - despite being born with a facial tumour that leaves her unable to speak or eat. Marimar Quiora once hid her face from strangers in the street, but now proudly bares her beauty to millions of people who follow her online. Marimar was born with a facial tumour called cystic hygroma, which means she has to use sign language in her videos to communicate. But the inspirational student won’t let anything hold her back, and now she is turning traditional beauty standards on their head with her powerful message of self-love.

Fisherman Cy Williams watched as the behemoth majestically beached the surface of the water at Knudson Cove Marina, Alaska, USA.
As Cy tried to follow the whale’s path under the stationary vessels – including his own – on Monday May 2, he spotted bubbles heading toward the surface.
Suddenly the gaping jaws of the mammoth mammal shot into the air, taking a massive gulp on the way back.

I was diving Blairgowrie Yacht Marina on the Mornington Peninsula (Tuesday April 10th 2012) when I cam across two stargazers - these fish are called this because when they are buried all you can see are their eyes and the rim of their mouth... and it looks like they are gazing upwards... and they often look angry and groosim!
The smaller of the two stargazer's lunged from the sand after I had whisked away the light cover of sand that was camouflaging it. The fish then opened its mouth ever so wide and then emerged from its buried position and swam away. I followed it, filming as it came to a stop about 5 metres away, then proceeded to bury itself again - agh, the wonders of nature under water!
I think the one I filmed is either the Easter Stargazer or the Common Stargazer.

The stargazers are a family Uranoscopidae. They have eyes on top of their heads (hence the name). The family includes about 51 species (one extinct) in 8 genera, all marine and found worldwide in shallow waters.
In addition to the top-mounted eyes, stargazers also have a large upward-facing mouth in a large head. Their usual habit is to bury themselves in sand, and leap upwards to ambush prey (benthic fish and invertebrates) that pass overhead. Lengths range from 18 cm up to 90 cm, for the giant stargazer Kathetostoma giganteum.
Stargazers are venomous; they have two large poisonous spines situated behind the opercle and above the pectoral fins. Some species can also cause electric shocks. They have an electric organ consisting of modified eye muscles. They are one of the few marine bony fishes that are electrogenic.

Humpback Whale Breaches Surface By Docks
This is the incredible moment a humpback whale feeds just feet away from docked boats showing off his giant mouth. Fisherman Cy Williams watched as the behemoth majestically beached the surface of the water at Knudson Cove Marina, Alaska, USA. As Cy tried to follow the whale’s path under the stationary vessels – including his own – on Monday May 2, he spotted bubbles heading toward the surface. Suddenly the gaping jaws of the mammoth mammal shot into the air, taking a massive gulp on the way back.

Stargazer lunges from sand - Blairgowrie Marina.m4v
I was diving Blairgowrie Yacht Marina on the Mornington Peninsula (Tuesday April 10th 2012) when I cam across two stargazers - these fish are called this because when they are buried all you can see are their eyes and the rim of their mouth... and it looks like they are gazing upwards... and they often look angry and groosim! The smaller of the two stargazer's lunged from the sand after I had whisked away the light cover of sand that was camouflaging it. The fish then opened its mouth ever so wide and then emerged from its buried position and swam away. I followed it, filming as it came to a stop about 5 metres away, then proceeded to bury itself again - agh, the wonders of nature under water! I think the one I filmed is either the Easter Stargazer or the Common Stargazer. FROM WIKIPEDIA...

The stargazers are a family Uranoscopidae. They have eyes on top of their heads (hence the name). The family includes about 51 species (one extinct) in 8 genera, all marine and found worldwide in shallow waters.
In addition to the top-mounted eyes, stargazers also have a large upward-facing mouth in a large head. Their usual habit is to bury themselves in sand, and leap upwards to ambush prey (benthic fish and invertebrates) that pass overhead. Lengths range from 18 cm up to 90 cm, for the giant stargazer Kathetostoma giganteum.
Stargazers are venomous; they have two large poisonous spines situated behind the opercle and above the pectoral fins. Some species can also cause electric shocks. They have an electric organ consisting of modified eye muscles. They are one of the few marine bony fishes that are electrogenic.
