Les Blérots de R.A.V.E.L. ist eine Musikgruppe aus der Normandie, Frankreich. 1996 fanden sie sich zusammen, um einen Sommer lang musikalisch begleitetes Straßentheater zu machen. Das Zusammenspiel klappte offenbar so gut, dass die Gruppe weiterhin zusammen auftrat und ihr Programm ausarbeitete und allmählich mehr zu einer Musik- als Theatergruppe wurde. Zunächst spielten sie in Cafés, auf Straßenfesten und verschiedenen Festivals. Im Jahr 2000 nahmen sie dann ihr erstes Album Vol au-dessus d'un Nid de Cagoules auf, auf das noch weitere folgten. Ursprünglich eine regionale Bekanntheit, sind die Blérots de R.A.V.E.L. inzwischen über Frankreich hinaus bekannt und gehen - besonders in Deutschland - häufig auf Tournee. Den Theaterursprung merkt man ihnen heute noch an, denn ihre Konzerte sind ganze 'Performances', Musikspektakel statt rein musikalischem Auftritt.
Wie andere französische Bands ähnlichen Stils (z. B. La Rue Kétanou, Les Ogres de Barback, Les Têtes Raides u. v. m.) ist der Titel der Band ein vielschichtiges Wortspiel. 'Blérot' ist zunächst verkürzt auf texto(sms)-Sprache für 'blaireau', was Dachs, Rasier-/ Malerpinsel und Vollidiot bedeutet. R.A.V.E.L. ist abgekürzt für "Renouveau Artisitique Volontairement Elaboré par des Losers", also eine freiwillig ausgefeilte künstlerische Erneuerung von Losern. Diese Loser leihen sich für ihren Bandtitel immerhin den verdrehten "Boléro" von niemend geringerem als Komponist Maurice Ravel.
Die Blérots de R.A.V.E.L. sind nicht einfach einzuordnen, ein großer Fokus liegt jedoch auf den der Vielzahl verschiedener Instrumente (Blas- und Streichinstrumente, klassische und ungewohnte) und Gesang. Allgemein zählt man die Gruppe zum nouvelle chanson française, sie machen jedoch viel mehr: ein buntes, rasantes Gemisch aus Klezmer, Jazz-Rock und Ska, immer in Anlehnung an osteuropäische Musik.

Thieves (French: Les Voleurs) is a 1996 French drama film directed by André Téchiné, starring Daniel Auteuil, Catherine Deneuve and Laurence Côte. The plot follows a cynical police officer, who comes from a family of thieves, and a lonely philosophy professor, both romantically involved with a self-destructive petty criminal. With a puzzling structure, the story is told through a series of flashbacks presented from four different perspectives.
Justin, a ten year old boy living in a small town in the Rhône-Alpes region, is awaken in the middle of the night. His mother, Mireille is crying and his widower grandfather, Victor, tells the boy that his father, Ivan, is death. The next day, Alex, Justin’s uncle and Ivan’s younger brother, arrives for the funeral accompanied by a young woman, Juliette. Justin notice the tension between the adults. He takes his father's gun and hides it. The story flashes backward and forward to explain what led up to Ivan’s death.

Das Zusammenspiel klappte offenbar so gut, dass die Gruppe weiterhin zusammen auftrat und ihr Programm ausarbeitete und allmählich mehr zu einer Musik- als Theatergruppe wurde. Zunächst spielten sie in Cafés, auf Straßenfesten und verschiedenen Festivals. Im Jahr 2000 nahmen sie dann ihr erstes Album Vol au-dessus d'un Nid de Cagoules auf, auf das noch weitere folgten.
