The story is based on Chief Seattle's respond to American government after they wanted to buy the land from native americans. This is the third and the most popular version of the speech and it's modified in 1970's. Chief Seattle was a leader of the Suquamish and Duwamish Native American tribes in what is now the U.S. state of Washington. The city of Seattle in Washington state is named after him.

Seattle, WA has always been known to have a basketball brotherhood, where NBA players like Jamal Crawford and Brandon Roy mentor up & coming talent. But how did this "brotherhood" start? Devin Williams (Shift Team HQ) goes up to the Pacific Northwest to learn more about this tight knit town.
“Heart of the City” is a documentary web series that tells the story of 6 North American cities through the lens of basketball. Each episode focuses on a different city and throws the viewer into the middle of the hoops scene. Every journey needs a guide and ours is Devin Williams of Shift Team HQ. Devin is a trainer, a former player, and a student of the game.
Throughout the series, Devin watches up-and-coming local players try to become the city’s best and spends time in the gym with top trainers and coaches.
But that’s not it... We also dive deeper into the day-to-day lives of the characters who define the game in their city. We see what their lives look like. Where they come from. Where they’re going. What drives them. It’s a ground-level, slice of life approach that, at the end of an episode, is both a pulse-taking of each city’s basketball culture, but also a portrait of that city itself.

Seattle (
i/siˈætəl/) is a West Coast seaport city and the seat of King County. With an estimated 662,400 residents as of 2015, Seattle is the largest city in both the state of Washington and the Pacific Northwest region of North America. In July 2013 it was the fastest-growing major city in the United States, and remained in the top five in May 2015 with an annual growth rate of 2.1%. The Seattle metropolitan area of around 3.6 million inhabitants is the 15th largest metropolitan area in the United States. The city is situated on an isthmus between Puget Sound (an inlet of the Pacific Ocean) and Lake Washington, about 100 miles (160 km) south of the Canada–United States border. A major gateway for trade with Asia, Seattle is the third largest port in North America in terms of container handling as of 2015.
The Seattle area was previously inhabited by Native Americans for at least 4,000 years before the first permanent European settlers.Arthur A. Denny and his group of travelers, subsequently known as the Denny Party, arrived from Illinois via Portland, Oregon on the schooner Exact at Alki Point on November 13, 1851. The settlement was moved to the eastern shore of Elliott Bay and named "Seattle" in 1852, after Chief Si'ahl of the local Duwamish and Suquamish tribes.

The story is based on Chief Seattle's respond to American government after they wanted to buy the land from native americans. This is the third and the most popular version of the speech and it's modified in 1970's. Chief Seattle was a leader of the Suquamish and Duwamish Native American tribes in what is now the U.S. state of Washington. Seattle, WA has always been known to have a basketball brotherhood, where NBA players like Jamal Crawford and Brandon Roy mentor up & coming talent. But how did this "brotherhood" start? Devin Williams (Shift Team HQ) goes up to the Pacific Northwest to learn more about this tight knit town.
“Heart of the City” is a documentary web series that tells the story of 6 North American cities through the lens of basketball. Each episode focuses on a different city and throws the viewer into the middle of the hoops scene. Every journey needs a guide and ours is Devin Williams of Shift Team HQ. Devin is a trainer, a former player, and a student of the game.
Throughout the series, Devin watches up-and-coming local players try to become the city’s best and spends time in the gym with top trainers and coaches.
But that’s not it... We also dive deeper into the day-to-day lives of the characters who define the game in their city. We see what their lives look like. Where they come from. Where they’re going. What drives them. It’s a ground-level, slice of life approach that, at the end of an episode, is both a pulse-taking of each city’s basketball culture, but also a portrait of that city itself.

Understood as a symbolic encounter between indigenous America, represented by Chief Seattle, and industrialized or imperialist America, represented by Isaac L Stevens, the first governor of Washington Territory, it was first published in a Seattle newspaper in 1887 by a pioneer who claimed he had heard Seattle (or Sealth) deliver it in the 1850s. An investment group that's been fighting to build a Sonics Arena in Seattle announced on Tuesday that it was no longer seeking public funding.
Offering to finance the project solely through private funds is a big incentive for the city, which would have to approve any building plans.

The NBA did not immediately comment. The Sonics left town in 2008.

The new arena would be built in Seattle's stadium district, according to statement on the Sonics Arena website. As part of the proposed deal, the group offered to help fund some of the city's other infrastructure projects.
"Our goal has always been to return the NBA to Seattle and to build a new arena to make that possible," it said.
The group backing the Sonics Arena is made up of Chris Hansen and two of the Nordstro (JWN)brothers.
They have been trying to bring an NBA team back to Seattle since 2012, but initial plans for a new arena were rejected by the city.
Hansen tried to buy the Sacramento Kings in 2013 and move them to Seattle, but that sale was voted down by NBA owners.

Hansen's group said that "the economic landscape has changed" since its initial submission. At that time, financing the stadium solely through private money wasn't an option.
"The recession is behind us and we are deep into this new economic cycle," the letter said. "Interest rates have declined and the NBA has completed its new national television contract, creating more financial certainty in the industry."
Hansen's offer of private money does come with some stipulations, including receiving a waiver of the city's admissions tax. The tax is typically paid by people attending an event. It's added to the price of the ticket or entrance fee. The group also wants to pay lower taxes on revenue made outside of Seattle.

June 2016 seemed like a slow month with lack of any major car events going on so we decided to organize a little meet out in the Inland Empire to celebrate the grand opening of Nemos-Garage. Summer had suddenly jumped down our throats and introduced us to some incredibly high temperatures so the week following the meet, we decided to go on an impromptu trip to Seattle to get away from the heat. I go to Seattle once a year to go shoot cars for work. When I first started going a couple years back, it was just a solo trip for me as I just went for work, shot some cars, and then hung out in the hotel. As time went on, my friends decided to hop on board with me and we now go explore the great city of Seattle every year. This two-part Vlog covers our adventures in 2016 from the meet, our Seattle trip, and everything (almost everything) in-between...
Part 2 covers our adventures in Seattle during the last weekend of June. A bulk of it is just snippets of our adventures doing touristy stuff. I go every year but since we had some Seattle newbies along for the trip, I wanted to make sure they maximized their time in the Pacific Northwest. Food is always amazing in that area and most of the spots that we visited provided some great scenic backdrops for photos. On the last full day we were in Seattle, I decided to throw a little car meet in the Alki Beach area. I really enjoy Alki and also had a meet there last year which was a great success. This time around, I planned ahead and gave people plenty of notice so the turnout ended-up being twice as big as the previous year. It was crazy. The spot was so packed with cars and people that the Seattle Police actually came and broke up the meet two hours into it. It was nice to see everyone and see all these great cars from the area. Some people even came down from Canada to hang out for the day. We got plenty of footage in the few hours we were there so sit back, relax, and check out some of Seattle's finest cars.
