The parents of Dallas gunman Micah Johnson have spoken out for the first time since their son's attack on police Thursday night. Speaking to The Blaze, Johnson's father, James Johnson and his ex-wife, Delphine broke down in tears as they discussed their veteran son's devastating actions during a protest march. "I love my son with all my heart. I hate what he did," James said.
The astonished father added: "I don't know what to say to anybody to make anything better. I didn't see it coming."

Micah X. Johnson Guns Down Dallas Police Officer On Live Video
DALLAS (CBSDFW/1080 KRLD) – In the aftermath of the Thursday night ambush in downtown Dallas that left 5 police officers dead and several more wounded, very little is known about the shooting suspects.
According to Dallas officials, one male suspect is dead and three more, two men and one woman are in custody.
At a Friday morning press conference, Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings began by saying that due to the ongoing investigation, “We’re not going to tell you anything about the suspects. We will when it’s the right time, now is not the right time.”

However, Dallas Police Chief David Brown confirmed the death of one gunman, later identified by CBS News as of 25-year old Micah Xavier Johnson of Mesquite, the suspect that police cornered in a parking garage at El Centro College in the downtown area immediately following the shooting.
According to Brown, police cornered Micah Johnson and negotiated with him for several hours. When talks broke down – they exchanged gunfire with the man. At that point, police sent in a remote vehicle and detonated a bomb – ultimately killing him.
“We saw no other option but to use our bomb robot and place a device on its extension for it to detonate where the suspect was. Other options would have exposed our officers to great danger” said Brown.
“He seemed lucid during negotiations.” said Chief Brown “He expressed anger for Black Lives Matter.”
Brown admitted that Johnson told police that he was upset over the recent string of police shooting.
“The suspect said he was upset at white people” said Brown. “He said he wanted to kill white people, especially white police officers.”
The suspect also reportedly said that authorities would “eventually find the IEDs.” That led to an extensive sweep of the Dallas area, which turned up no explosives.
Johnson claimed to be a U.S. Army veteran. He also stated he was not affiliated with any groups and stated that he did this alone.

Micah Xavier Johnson, 25, has been identified as one of the suspected gunmen in an ambush Thursday that left five Dallas law enforcement officers dead and seven more officers injured, multiple law enforcement sources told ABC News.
Johnson, who died in the incident, had served as an Army Reservist until April 2015, defense officials said. He was trained and served in the Army Reserves as a carpentry and masonry specialist, they said.
Police said he had told hostage negotiators he was angry about recent fatal shootings of black men by police elsewhere in the United States and that he wanted to kill white people, especially police officers.
The gunman "expressed anger for Black Lives Matter" and told a hostage negotiator he "wanted to kill [police] officers,” Dallas Police Chief David Brown said today.

Micah (/ˈmaɪkə/; Hebrew: מִיכָה, Modern Mikha, Tiberian Mîḵā) is a given name.
Micah is the name of several people in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament), and means "who is like God?". The name is sometimes found with theophoric extensions. Suffix theophory in Yah and in Yahweh results in Michaiah or Michaihu (Hebrew: מִיכָיְהוּ, Modern Mikhayhu, Tiberian Mîḵā́yhû), meaning who is like Yahweh? Suffix theophory in El results in Michael (Hebrew: מִיכָאֵל, Modern Mikha'el, Tiberian Mîḵāʼēl), meaning " who is like god".
In German and Dutch, Micah is spelled Micha and the ch in the name is pronounced either [ʃ] or [x]; the first is more common in female names, the latter in male names. The name is not as common as Michael or Michiel.

Micah Xavier Johnson, 25, has been identified as one of the suspected gunmen in an ambush Thursday that left five Dallas law enforcement officers dead and seven more officers injured, multiple law enforcement sources told ABC News. Johnson, who died in the incident, had served as an Army Reservist until April 2015, defense officials said. He was trained and served in the Army Reserves as a carpentry and masonry specialist, they said. According to Dallas officials, one male suspect is dead and three more, two men and one woman are in custody.
At a Friday morning press conference, Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings began by saying that due to the ongoing investigation, “We’re not going to tell you anything about the suspects. We will when it’s the right time, now is not the right time.”

However, Dallas Police Chief David Brown confirmed the death of one gunman, later identified by CBS News as of 25-year old Micah Xavier Johnson of Mesquite, the suspect that police cornered in a parking garage at El Centro College in the downtown area immediately following the shooting.
According to Brown, police cornered Micah Johnson and negotiated with him for several hours. When talks broke down – they exchanged gunfire with the man. At that point, police sent in a remote vehicle and detonated a bomb – ultimately killing him.
“We saw no other option but to use our bomb robot and place a device on its extension for it to detonate where the suspect was. Other options would have exposed our officers to great danger” said Brown.
“He seemed lucid during negotiations.” said Chief Brown “He expressed anger for Black Lives Matter.”
Brown admitted that Johnson told police that he was upset over the recent string of police shooting.
“The suspect said he was upset at white people” said Brown. “He said he wanted to kill white people, especially white police officers.”
The suspect also reportedly said that authorities would “eventually find the IEDs.” That led to an extensive sweep of the Dallas area, which turned up no explosives.
Johnson claimed to be a U.S. Army veteran. He also stated he was not affiliated with any groups and stated that he did this alone.

Johnson, who died in the incident, had served as an Army Reservist until April 2015, defense officials said. He was trained and served in the Army Reserves as a carpentry and masonry specialist, they said.
Police said he had told hostage negotiators he was angry about recent fatal shootings of black men by police elsewhere in the United States and that he wanted to kill white people, especially police officers.
The gunman "expressed anger for Black Lives Matter" and told a hostage negotiator he "wanted to kill [police] officers,” Dallas Police Chief David Brown said today.

EXCLUSIVE: Dallas cop shooter Micah Johnson allegedly booted from Afghanistan after hiding stolen women's panties, pills, grenade in his room A newly uncovered Army report reveals the troubled veteran who killed five Dallas police officers had panties, pills and a grenade hidden in his bunk when he got the boot from a base in Afghanistan. The May 2014 report alleged Micah Johnson stole the panties from a fellow soldier's dirty laundry bag, hid at least one of them under his mattress and then ran and tried to cover his tracks when caught. As the investigation unfolded, fellow soldiers found the grenade as well stolen prescription pills stashed in a sleeping bag in his barracks, the Army report obtained by the Daily News said. The partially redacted report described in detail the night Johnson's team leaders searched his room on their base in Afghanistan and found a pair of black women's underwear with red trim rolled in a ball and tucked under his bedding. "Johnson grabbed the underwear as soon as I asked what it was," an unidentified soldier involved in the search recounted, according to the report. "Don't worry about that," Johnson allegedly shot back as he shoved the panties in a pocket of his hoodie, made an excuse about needing to throw away some food and took off running into the darkness, the report said. The team leaders set out with flashlights to find him and eventually caught up to the future mass shooter. "I asked him if he had the panties and he said he didn't know what I was talking about," one solider said, according to the report. They searched a nearby dumpster and found three pairs of underwear later identified by the victim as her missing items. The report does not identify the female soldier by name, but she confirmed her identity to The News as Sgt. Ana Ma after the Dallas shooting earlier this month. Johnson denied knowing anything about the three pairs recovered and said he "flushed" the one black and red pair down a latrine to protect the woman who gave them to him, the report said. Sgt. Ma, not yet an officer then, arrived at the dumpster to identify the panties and "immediately began crying and stated they were in fact hers," the report said. Johnson later doubled down and said the missing red and black underwear belonged to the female barber. An unidentified individual quoted in the report said Johnson had bragged about sleeping with a woman at the barber shop and also claimed "he had sexual relations with masseuses that worked in the bazaars." The incident caused Sgt. Ma to file a sexual harassment claim. Johnson and Ma both reported they shared a close friendship leading up to the underwear incident, and both agreed it was platonic, the report said. But after the theft, Ma said she reconsidered the way Johnson generally spoke to her and determined his treatment was not acceptable, the report said. Johnson was given two days to pack and left some items behind when he shipped out, the report said. Officers checking his room afterward found the grenade as well as the prescription medication belonging to another soldier in Johnson's sleeping bag, the report stated. Johnson later stated he was "not aware of any prescription medication or explosive devices inside of my belongings," the report said. "Johnson's claim that the red and black underwear belonged to a female other than (Ma) is not credible," the report continued. EXCLUSIVE: Dallas cop shooter Micah Johnson allegedly booted from Afghanistan after hiding stolen women's panties, pills, grenade in his room A newly uncovered Army report reveals the troubled veteran who killed five Dallas police officers had panties, pills and a grenade hidden in his bunk when he got the boot from a base in Afghanistan. The May 2014 report alleged Micah Johnson stole the panties from a fellow soldier's dirty laundry bag, hid at least one of them under his mattress and then ran and tried to cover his tracks when caught. As the investigation unfolded, fellow soldiers found the grenade as well stolen prescription pills stashed in a sleeping bag in his barracks, the Army report obtained by the Daily News said. The partially redacted report described in detail the night Johnson's team leaders searched his room on their base in Afghanistan and found a pair of black women's underwear with red trim rolled in a ball and tucked under his bedding. "Johnson grabbed the underwear as soon as I asked what it was," an unidentified soldier involved in the search recounted, according to the report. "Don't worry about that," Johnson allegedly shot back as he shoved the panties in a pocket of his hoodie, made an excuse about needing to throw away some food and took off running into the darkness, the report said. The team leaders set out with flashlights to find him and eventually caught up to the future mass shooter. "I asked him if he had the panties and he said he didn't know what I was talking about," one solider said, according to the report. They searched a nearby dumpster and found three pairs of underwear later identified by the victim as her missing items. The report does not identify the female soldier by name, but she confirmed her identity to The News as Sgt. Ana Ma after the Dallas shooting earlier this month. Johnson denied knowing anything about the three pairs recovered and said he "flushed" the one black and red pair down a latrine to protect the woman who gave them to him, the report said. Sgt. Ma, not yet an officer then, arrived at the dumpster to identify the panties and "immediately began crying and stated they were in fact hers," the report said. Johnson later doubled down and said the missing red and black underwear belonged to the female barber. An unidentified individual quoted in the report said Johnson had bragged about sleeping with a woman at the barber shop and also claimed "he had sexual relations with masseuses that worked in the bazaars." The incident caused Sgt. Ma to file a sexual harassment claim. Johnson and Ma both reported they shared a close friendship leading up to the underwear incident, and both agreed it was platonic, the report said. But after the theft, Ma said she reconsidered the way Johnson generally spoke to her and determined his treatment was not acceptable, the report said. Johnson was given two days to pack and left some items behind when he shipped out, the report said. Officers checking his room afterward found the grenade as well as the prescription medication belonging to another soldier in Johnson's sleeping bag, the report stated. Johnson later stated he was "not aware of any prescription medication or explosive devices inside of my belongings," the report said. "Johnson's claim that the red and black underwear belonged to a female other than (Ma) is not credible," the report continued. My findings and observations will also show and suggest, that the rifle and body of Micah Xavier Johnson, were staged among the debris, so as to be photographed in the positions being shown and to help sell a narrative far removed from the truth.
