Cookie dough

Cookie dough refers to a blend of cookie ingredients which has been mixed into a malleable form which has not yet been hardened by heat. The dough is often then separated and the portions baked to individual cookies, or eaten as is.

Cookie dough can be homemade or bought pre-made in packs (frozen logs, buckets, etc.). Desserts containing cookie dough, such as ice cream, candy, and milkshakes are also frequently marketed. Pre-made cookie doughs are usually sold in a few different common flavors including Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin, Peanut Butter, Sugar, Snickerdoodle, and White Chocolate Macadamia.

When being made at home, the recipe can consist of common ingredients, including flour, butter, white sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and eggs. Because the dough isn't be baked, no leavening agents, such as baking soda or baking powder are used. Chocolate chip cookie dough is a popular variation which can be made by adding chocolate chips to the mix.

Ice cream containing cookie dough was first popularized by Fabulous Phil's Gourmet Ice Cream using homemade cookie dough and Ben & Jerry's retail ice cream, chocolate chip cookie dough, using cookie dough from food distributor Rhino Foods.

Simple Songs

Simple Songs is the eighth album by Steve Bell. The album won the Juno Award for Best Gospel Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2001.

Simple Songs also won the award for Outstanding Christian Recording at the 2001 Prairie Music Awards. Steve Bell and Dave Zeglinski shared the Outstanding Producer award for the album.

Magic Hat Brewing Company

Magic Hat Brewing Company is a brewery in South Burlington, Vermont. It began production in 1994, and is currently owned by Costa Rican company Florida Ice & Farm Co. It brews four year-round beers and several seasonal products and one-off batches.

History

Magic Hat Brewing Company was formed in 1994 in Burlington, Vermont. It moved to its current South Burlington location in 1997. By 2005 it had 64 employees. In 2008 the company purchased Pyramid Breweries, makers of the Pyramid and MacTarnahan's brands, expanding to 129 employees. In 2010 Magic Hat (including Pyramid) was acquired by North American Breweries of Rochester, New York. In December 2012, the parent company was purchased by Cerveceria Costa Rica, a unit of the Costa Rican company Florida Ice & Farm Co.

Brands

Magic Hat brews four year-round beers: #9 "Not Quite Pale Ale", Dream Machine, Circus Boy and Single Chair. It also produces up to four seasonal beers, seasonal variety packs and several limited release products.

The Amazing

The Amazing is a Swedish band whose members include Reine Fiske, who plays with Dungen, and Christoffer Gunrup, who played in Granada and with Anna Järvinen. Fredrik Swahn, Alexis Benson, and drummer Moussa Fadera are also in The Amazing.

Self-titled debut

The Amazing released their self-titled debut on April 29, 2009 on Subliminal Sounds. The disc was reviewed by the Daily News, and others including Sydsvenskan, and the Swedish newspaper, Svenska Dagbladet. In connection with the first disc, the group played on the program P3 Pop on Swedish Radio P3.

Gentle Stream to present

Gentle Stream was released in 2011. The Amazing did a Daytrotter session on December 5, 2012. They played, "Gone" from the album on Late Night with David Letterman on January 18, 2013. The Amazing appeared on World Cafe on February 6, 2013.

Their fourth album, Picture You, was released on February 17, 2015. Allmusic noted that it "is the culmination of all their work, with a combination of wonderfully rich arrangements, inspired playing and singing, and a batch of lengthy songs that both warm the heart and expand the mind".

Peanut butter

Peanut butter, popular in many countries, is a food paste made primarily from ground dry roasted peanuts. Some varieties contain added salt, seed oils, emulsifiers, and sugar, whereas "natural" types of peanut butter consist solely of ground peanuts. It is mainly used as a sandwich spread, sometimes in combination with other spreads such as jam, honey, chocolate (in various forms), vegetables or cheese. The United States is a leading exporter of peanut butter and consumes $800 million worth annually. Nuts are also prepared comparably as nut butters.

History

Peanut butter dates back to the Aztecs and the Incas.

Canadian Marcellus Gilmore Edson (February 7, 1849 – March 6, 1940) of Montreal, Quebec was the first to patent peanut butter, in 1884. Peanut flour already existed. His cooled product had "a consistency like that of butter, lard, or ointment" according to his patent application. He included the mixing of sugar into the paste so as to harden its consistency.

Edson, a chemist (pharmacist), developed the idea of peanut paste as a delicious and nutritious staple for people who could hardly chew on solid food, a not uncommon state back in those days. Peanut paste was initially sold for six cents per pound.
