Mast is a 1999 Bollywood musical film by Indian director Ram Gopal Verma. This was the debut film for Aftab Shivdasani as a lead actor. Till then, he was recognized as a child actor.
Kittu (Aftab Shivdasani) is an arts student in Pune and is madly in love with actress and film star Malika (Urmila Matondkar). He has posters up on his wall and goes to all of her movies, and even fantasizes that she is there with him when he is watching these items. His father concerned with his son's declining exam scores, confronts Kittu on his obsession and tears down the posters. To Kittu, this is almost as bad as murder and decides to move out and away to Mumbai, where the star, herself, lives.
Unknowing of where else to go he goes to her bunglow, when uninvited, he finds a job at a nearby cafe. Actually interacting with Malika, Kittu soon finds that she is not the girl that he had pictured from her posters and movies. A simple orphan, exploited by her evil uncle and his family, that Kittu begins to feel sorry for her and even more in love.
i'm looking for answers to all the questions no one knows.
pleaded and begged asked you for nothing, but something showed.
you ??, the sweat on your forehead everyone's pointing your nervousness now.
it's obvious now that you're scared of yourself.
nothing to keep them from knowing this now,
there's nothing to keep them from knowing this now.
promises, shattered pieces, memories of nothing.
cowardly you'll face this all alone.
you're finding a truth nothing but lies still no one knows.
you see your self run but i see you crawling to face the truth.
you're hesitant now your heart must be parting, ripping,
and tearing your insides are numb. fleshless and weak time to start over.
nothing to keep them from emptiness now
promises, shattered pieces, memories of nothing.
cowardly you'll face this all alone
you know how this will end,
cause the pain inside in your head is cutting yourself thin.
nothing to do now when you're buried underground.
your promise haunts you now. promises, shattered pieces,
memories of nothing.
cowardly i'll face this all alone
