He was born in London and his childhood was marked by poverty and deprivation. His first stage appearance was like 5 years old and it became clear what the boy was going to be. Young Charlie and his brother Sydney began working as artists in Fred Karno vaudevilletrupp. The troop traveled to the United States and Charlie quickly became the crowd favorite. In the film'' Kid Auto Races at Venice'' (1914) occur Chaplin as the tramp with big, baggy pants, too big shoes, bowler hat, cane and a small mustache, who would become his trademark. Fields, Bing Crosby, Lloyd Hamilton, Andy Clyde, and more. Now, for the first time, thanks to Flicker Alley, CineMuseum, and Keystone Films, over 100 of the best surviving Sennett comedies have been gathered from around the world, fully restored, and digitally re-mastered in HD for Blu-ray home video.
