Braithwaite started his youth career with Esbjerg before spending a short time at FC Midtjylland's sports academy. He moved back to Esbjerg after only a short time, signing a three-year youth contract in 2007. before going on trials with both Reggina and Newcastle. He made his Esbjerg debut in 2009, making 63 Superligaen appearances for the club and scoring 12 goals, including nine in the 2012-13 season during which he appeared in every league game for the club. He won the Danish Cup with the club in 2012-13, scoring two goals in the semi-final second leg defeat of Brøndby IF.
Following his impressive displays for Esbjerg in the 2013 Danish Superliga spring season and the Danish Cup he was called up to the Danish national squad in the summer of 2013. At the same time he was being rumored to be attracting the interest of a number of European clubs including Auxerre, Rennes, Celtic and Hull City.
On 14 August 2013, whilst away on national duty for a friendly international against Poland, DR reported that Braithwaite had been sold to French club Toulouse FC for an estimated DKK 15 million (roughly €2 million). Braithwaite started the match and scored Denmark's second goal.

Marcel Brathwaite is a flyweight boxing prospect from Liverpool. He has won numerous amateur competitors including ABA and National titles as well as representing England.
He is now ready to try his hand in the pro game and the Golden Gloves ABC boxer will join Pat Barrett and Black Flash Promotions in Manchester as he gets his career underway.
Trained by respected Scouse coach Wayne Smith, Marcel will also work closely with Barrett at the famous Mancunian gym the Collyhurst and Moston a place he already knows well having been visiting it for years.
Marcel has big plans for his future and predicts he will become a world champion in the sport he loves and lives for. Also a big music fan, he produces his own music and tracks and says he will bring something new to British boxing and has a few surprises for everyone. Marcel believes that boxing as hard as it is, is an entertainment industry and fight fans like drama, the characters and they want to be entertained. This charming young man with special pugilistic skills plans to do plenty of entertaining in the coming years.
Marcel Braithwaite is a boxer you may not have heard of but in a few years he could be one of the most talked about fighters on the scene.

Braithwaite /ˈbrɛθɪt/ is a village in the northern Lake District, in Cumbria, England. Historically within Cumberland, it lies just to the west of Keswick and to the east of the Grisedale Pike ridge, in the Borough of Allerdale. It forms part of the civil parish of Above Derwent.
The eastern end of the Whinlatter Pass road is in the village. The A66 road bypasses Braithwaite, but does not enter the village.
Braithwaite is situated around Coledale Beck, a brook which joins Newlands Beck shortly after passing through the village. Newlands Beck (coming from the Newlands Valley) then flows north towards Bassenthwaite Lake.
Braithwaite has several pubs, including the Coledale Inn, the Royal Oak and the Middle Ruddings Hotel. Braithwaite is easily accessible due to its close proximity to the A66. It has a campsite with a caravan park, B + Bs, pubs and guest houses. It has a wide range of sports including sailing, climbing, abseiling, canoeing, hang-gliding, parasailing, orienteering, bird watching (For ospreys in the nearby lakes), photography and virtually any other outdoor pursuit all within four miles of the village.

He made his Esbjerg debut in 2009, making 63 Superligaen appearances for the club and scoring 12 goals, including nine in the 2012-13 season during which he appeared in every league game for the club. He won the Danish Cup with the club in 2012-13, scoring two goals in the semi-final second leg defeat of Brøndby IF.
Following his impressive displays for Esbjerg in the 2013 Danish Superliga spring season and the Danish Cup he was called up to the Danish national squad in the summer of 2013. At the same time he was being rumored to be attracting the interest of a number of European clubs including Auxerre, Rennes, Celtic and Hull City.
On 14 August 2013, whilst away on national duty for a friendly international against Poland, DR reported that Braithwaite had been sold to French club Toulouse FC for an estimated DKK 15 million (roughly €2 million). Braithwaite started the match and scored Denmark's second goal.

He is now ready to try his hand in the pro game and the Golden Gloves ABC boxer will join Pat Barrett and Black Flash Promotions in Manchester as he gets his career underway.
Trained by respected Scouse coach Wayne Smith, Marcel will also work closely with Barrett at the famous Mancunian gym the Collyhurst and Moston a place he already knows well having been visiting it for years.

Our video is a guided walk in the Lake District. Starting from Rigg Beck near Braithwaite we walk along the Newlands Valley to climb up to Knott Rigg and return via Ard Crags. This is a hard walk on minor tarmac road, grass and stony tracks and paths. There are steep inclines and declines. Elevation: approx lowest point 163m (534.5ft) approx highest point 572.3m (1887.6ft) approx ascent 654.6m (2147.6ft) Approx 5 miles allow 3 to 3½ hours using OS Explorer Map OL4, The English Lakes North Western area.
