Israel (/ˈɪzreɪəl/ or /ˈɪzriːəl/; Hebrew: יִשְׂרָאֵל Yisrā'el; Arabic: إِسْرَائِيل Isrāʼīl), officially the State of Israel (Hebrew: מְדִינַת יִשְׂרָאֵל Medīnat Yisrā'el [mediˈnat jisʁaˈʔel]; Arabic: دولة إِسْرَائِيل Dawlat Isrāʼīl [dawlat ʔisraːˈʔiːl]), is a country in the Middle East, situated at the southeastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea and the northern shore of the Gulf of Aqaba in the Red Sea. It shares land borders with Lebanon to the north, Syria in the northeast, Jordan on the east, the Palestinian territories (which are claimed by the State of Palestine and are partially controlled by Israel) comprising the West Bank and Gaza Strip to the east and west, respectively, and Egypt to the southwest. It contains geographically diverse features within its relatively small area. Israel's financial and technology center is Tel Aviv, while Jerusalem is both its self-designated capital (unrecognised by the United Nations) and its most populous individual city under the country's governmental administration. Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem is internationally disputed.
Jeremiah Jae is an American rapper and producer from the neighborhood of Jackson Park Highlands in Chicago, Illinois. First signed to the LA label Brainfeeder, in 2007, when the Ann Arbor based producer Samiyam passed on Jae's Lunch Special Part I to Flying Lotus. After a post, and then private message on his MySpace profile, Jae was flown out to LA to work with Flying Lotus.
The son of jazz composer and musician, Robert Irving III, Jae grew up in a musical home studying classical piano and guitar. Having also taught himself the drums, and played in various bands, Jae's earliest influences included glam rock and the British indie band Placebo. It was only later on, through groups such as Souls of Mischief and Wu-Tang Clan, that he discovered hip-hop and beatmaking. It was this that enabled him to bridge the gap between all his interests.
Whilst still a teenager he formed Young Black Preachers (YBP) with his god-brothers, Tre Smith and Aaron "Projeck" Butler, and released a number of EPs alongside his solo work. It was this output, and his Lunch Special mixes that drew the attention of Steve Ellison, aka Flying Lotus, and led to Jae's move to Los Angeles in 2007.

Israel "Iz" Kaʻanoʻi Kamakawiwoʻole (Hawaiian pronunciation: [kəˌmɐkəˌvivoˈʔole]) translation: "The Fearless Eyed"; May 20, 1959 – June 26, 1997), also called Bruddah Iz (Brother Iz), was a Hawaiian musician, entertainer and sovereignty activist.
His voice became famous outside Hawaii when his album Facing Future was released in 1993. His medley of "Somewhere over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World" was subsequently featured in several films, television programs, and television commercials.
Through his skillful ukulele playing and incorporation of other genres, such as jazz and reggae, Kamakawiwoʻole remains a very strong influence on Hawaiian music.
Kamakawiwoʻole was born at Kuakini Hospital in Honolulu to Henry "Hank" Kaleialoha Naniwa Kamakawiwoʻole, Jr. and Evangeline "Angie" Leinani Kamakawiwoʻole. The notable Hawaiian musician Moe Keale was his uncle and a major musical influence. He was raised in the community of Kaimuki, where his parents had met and married. He began playing music with his older brother Skippy and cousin Allen Thornton at the age of 11, being exposed to the music of Hawaiian entertainers of the time such as Peter Moon, Palani Vaughn and Don Ho, who frequented the establishment where Kamakawiwoʻole's parents worked. Hawaiian musician Del Beazley spoke of the first time he heard Israel play, when, while playing for a graduation party, the whole room fell silent on hearing him. Israel continued his path as his brother Skippy entered the Army in 1971 and cousin Allen parted ways in 1976 for the mainland.

"We have severe cracks in the infrastructure, which had existed prior to 9/11, but 9/11 exacerbated the cracking" of interior and exterior walls, said Joseph T. "What had been a pinhole was big enough that you could put your thumb in," Mr. Avery recalled. The park service called in the architectural and engineering firm Einhorn Yaffee Prescott. This hour-long special weaves together both the Israeli and the Palestinian narratives. In Israel, we go from the venerable ramparts of Jerusalem to the vibrant modern skyline of Tel Aviv. In Palestine, we harvest olives near Hebron, visit a home in Bethlehem, and pop into a university in Ramallah. We also learn about security walls, disputed settlements, and the persistent challenges facing the region. A video where I talk about some things to consider while being a tourist in Israel, including: what to do in case of a missile attack, tips for tourist, dealing with the obvious military presence, street harassment, etc. Before leaving for South Korea to go teach English, I decided to visit my grandmother for two weeks to Ashdod, Israel, where she lives. It inspired me to make this video. I hope you enjoy it! ✱ 515 Hotels in Tel Aviv - Lowest Price Guarantee ► http://goo.gl/2Ui9Lg Travel video about destination Tel Aviv Beach in Israel. Where do people act as if insecurity were an unknown word ? Or as if the dangers of war were unimportant ? On the beach at Tel Aviv… Here, whatever happens, even just 48 hours after fighting breaks out with Lebanon, (in September 2006, when we filmed there), Tel Aviv proudly presents itself and its thirties architecture as a modern city, refusing to bear the weight of the past, where Jews and Muslims prefer to cohabit in an intelligent manner. And so the Tel Aviv beach is a place for partying, relaxing and flirting, every minute of the day, as if defying the permanent threats that hang over the country. -------------- Watch more travel videos ► http://goo.gl/H...
We start in Jerusalem, alive with religious tradition and passion — Christian, Muslim, and Jewish. We then visit cosmopolitan Tel Aviv, with its in-love-with-life beaches; ponder the sad fortress of Masada; and join pilgrims at biblical sights around the Sea of Galilee. We'll also pay our respects at the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial, drop into an Orthodox Jewish neighborhood, and savor the local cuisine. | © 2014 Rick Steves' Europe At http://www.ricksteves.com, you'll find money-saving travel tips, small-group tours, guidebooks, TV shows, radio programs, podcasts, and more on this destination.
