When it comes to in-game product placement, these sponsors would have been better off buying billboards, hiring skywriters, or maybe just throwing their money in the sea. Sam Fisher chomping on Airwaves chewing gum in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory seemed especially dubious. For a man whose business is sneaking up behind people undetected, the pungent whiff of menthol and eucalyptus would be a fast track to a burial in an unmarked grave and a hasty disavowal from the US government.
Or consider the depiction of Red Bull as an illegal, antisocial beverage with ties to organised crime in Judge Dredd: Dredd vs Death. That can't be good for business.
Nor could the appearance of Energizer batteries in Alan Wake. These branded batteries couldn't sustain more than a few minutes of powering a bright flashlight before running dry. No wonder Alan switched to the generic kind for the DLC.

Product placement
Product placement, brand integration or embedded marketing, is, according to the United States Government "any form of audio-visual commercial communication consisting of the inclusion of or reference to a product, a service or the trade mark thereof so that it is featured within a programme, in return for payment or for similar consideration".
Product placement stands out as a marketing strategy because it is the most direct attempt to derive commercial benefit from "the context and environment within which the product is displayed or used" The technique can be beneficial for viewers, since interruptive advertising removes them from the entertainment.
In April 2006, Broadcasting & Cable reported, "Two thirds of advertisers employ 'branded entertainment'—product placement, brand integration—with the vast majority of that (80%) in commercial TV programming." said "Reasons for using in-show plugs varied from 'stronger emotional connection' to better dovetailing with relevant content, to targeting a specific group."

DJ Shadow
Joshua Paul "Josh" Davis (born June 29, 1972), better known by his stage name DJ Shadow, is an American music producer and DJ. He is a prominent figure in the development of instrumental hip hop and first gained notice with the release of his highly acclaimed debut album Endtroducing...... He has an exceptionally large personal record collection, with over 60,000 records.
History
Early years
DJ Shadow was experimenting with a four-track recorder while in high school in Davis, California, and began his music career as a disc jockey for the University of California, Davis campus radio station KDVS. During this period he was significant in developing the experimental hip hop style associated with the London-based Mo' Wax record label. His early singles, including "In/Flux" and "Lost and Found (S.F.L.)", were genre-bending works of art merging elements of funk, rock, hip hop, ambient, jazz, soul, and used-bin found records. Andy Pemberton, a music journalist writing for Mixmag, coined the term "trip hop" in June 1994 to describe Shadow's "In/Flux" single and similar tracks being spun in London clubs at the time. Though his music is hard to categorize, his early contributions were certainly important for alternative hip hop. He has cited Kurtis Mantronik, Steinski, and Prince Paul as influences on his sample-based sound, further claiming that "lyrics (...) were confining, too specific". His music rarely features more than short clips of voices or vocal work.

This was a fun project I did for 30 Rock with the brilliant Mike Pantuso for the live episode. Kraft did some sponsored product placement and the writers decided to tie it into the Honeymooners parody with Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey. Good wholesome fun. Me and Mike were the graphic design and animation dynamic duo of the show. We turned this around in a few hours while working on every other graphic and animation for the live episode. -

Zudem sind nun nicht mehr nur die Pokémon Einalls zu finden, sondern auch viele aus älteren Generationen. Und auch Team Plasma hat sein Handwerk noch nicht nieder gelegt und versucht dem Protagonisten das Leben schwer zu machen. Auf in ein neues Abenteuer!
» Wir spielen Pokémon Schwarz 2 in der "Nuzlocke-Challenge". Dies bedeutet, dass wir einige Regeln zum normalen Spiel hinzufügen:
1. Es darf immer nur das erste Pokémon auf einer Route gefangen werden.
1.1: Außer es wurde bereits ein Pokémon dieser Evolutionsreihe gefangen.
1.2: Geschenkte und einzigartige Pokémon, sowie geschenkte Eier dürfen dennoch verwendet werden.
1.3: Shinys entziehen sich ebenfalls dieser Regelung.
2. Wird ein Pokémon im Kampf besiegt, so darf es nie wieder eingesetzt werden.
3. In einem Arena-Kampf dürfen nur so viele Pokémon eingesetzt werden, wie auch der Arenaleiter einsetzt.
4. Die eigenen Pokémon dürfen im Kampf gegen den Arenaleiter nicht das Level des stärksten Pokémon übertreffen.
5. Die eigenen Pokémon dürfen im Kampf gegen die Top Vier nicht stärker sein, als das stärkste Pokémon des Champs.
6. Jedem Pokémon muss ein Spitzname gegeben werden.
7. Die Nuzlocke-Challenge ist verloren, wenn alle Pokémon im Team besiegt werden sollten.
8. Die Nuzlocke-Challenge ist gewonnen, wenn alle Regeln eingehalten und die Pokémon-Liga bezwungen wurde.

» Wir spielen Pokémon Schwarz 2 in der "Nuzlocke-Challenge". Dies bedeutet, dass wir einige Regeln zum normalen Spiel hinzufügen:
1. Es darf immer nur das erste Pokémon auf einer Route gefangen werden.
1.1: Außer es wurde bereits ein Pokémon dieser Evolutionsreihe gefangen.
1.2: Geschenkte und einzigartige Pokémon, sowie geschenkte Eier dürfen dennoch verwendet werden.
1.3: Shinys entziehen sich ebenfalls dieser Regelung.
2. Wird ein Pokémon im Kampf besiegt, so darf es nie wieder eingesetzt werden.
3. In einem Arena-Kampf dürfen nur so viele Pokémon eingesetzt werden, wie auch der Arenaleiter einsetzt.
4. Die eigenen Pokémon dürfen im Kampf gegen den Arenaleiter nicht das Level des stärksten Pokémon übertreffen.
5. Die eigenen Pokémon dürfen im Kampf gegen die Top Vier nicht stärker sein, als das stärkste Pokémon des Champs.
6. Jedem Pokémon muss ein Spitzname gegeben werden.
7. Die Nuzlocke-Challenge ist verloren, wenn alle Pokémon im Team besiegt werden sollten.
8. Die Nuzlocke-Challenge ist gewonnen, wenn alle Regeln eingehalten und die Pokémon-Liga bezwungen wurde.
» Hier nun die Anzahl der Pokémon und deren Maximal-Level für die einzelnen Arenaleiter-Kämpfe:
Cheren: 2 Pokémon, maximal Level 13
Mica: 2 Pokémon, maximal Level 18
Artie: 3 Pokémon, maximal Level 24
Kamilla: 3 Pokémon, maximal Level 30
Geraldine: 3 Pokémon, maximal Level 39
Lysander: 3 Pokémon, maximal Level 43
Benson: 3 Pokémon, maximal Level 51
