This live recording features Swiss composer Julien-François Zbinden on piano. Although Julien-François Zbinden (born in 1917) is a well-known composer in the classical music field, he is also a jazz fan since his early years. The present recording took place in March 2010 during a Chamber Music Series of the Berne Symphony Orchestra, under the title "Jazz meets Classical", featuring composers Daniel Schnyder, George Gershwin, Sy Oliver & Julien-François Zbinden. Mr. Zbinden was in the audience to attend the World Premiere of his new piece for solo tuba "Solissimo". At the end of the show, Mr. Zbinden joined the band on the stage, for an unformal jam with St. Louis Blues.
