This virtual campus tour video gives an insight into the Dublin City University vibrant and entertaining campus student life! Welcome to DCU – home to over 12,000 of Ireland’s best and brightest students! This virtual tour video shows David and Heather walking through the campus of DCU and St.Patricks college. First, we enter the ‘Hub’, which is the heart of DCU and the core of student life here. It encompasses the college bar, the student union, the offices of clubs and societies, a printing center, and much more. In 2016, The Hub will be developed and extended more with much more rehearsal space and office space. DCU sport is a huge part of college life here. We have state of the art facilities in the college and provide an excellent health and wellness experience. There are five aside soccer pitches along with a state of the art swimming pool, sauna and steam room. We have an excellent fitness center and we have even won sports center of the year, three times in a row! It holds 12000 seats and 18 collaborative study rooms. The DCU nursing state of the art lab ensures that students have everything they need here in college. Our faculty of science and health offers students over 20 honors degree courses allowing them to learn in courses such as Athletic Therapy and Training to Chemical Sciences. Our ambitious students gain real experience working in the latest advances of research and technology, which continuously informs teaching. If you have an interest in anything humanities related, then you’ll mostly be based in the School of Communications where we have media facilities such as the MAC Labs, radio studio and TV Studio. Another key place in DCU is The Helix, where every student attends orientation on his or her first day. Don’t worry though, if you’re nervous you can always take a trip to our advice center or inter faith center located on campus also. The engineering society thrives here in DCU with students participating in regular events held throughout the year. They even host a scavenger hunt on student’s first day! DCU is the home of Enterprise and we encourage our students to be innovative. It holds Ireland’s first ever student Accelerator programme where students are encouraged to come up with new ideas, and develop these ideas to Start up’s. According to David, ‘It really is the business!’. Of course it’s not all work – The Enterprise society and the Accounting and Finance Society help lighten the load and invite students to get involved in events and practical studies! If you’re looking for a job in the Booming Tech Industry, DCU is the perfect place for you. Our Redbrick society is perfect for helping students gain real world experience. They even help keep our DCU radio station online! DCU campus provides accommodation for all students. A lot of international students tend to stay here. There are three places to stay: Larkfiled, Hampstead and College Park and each of these are all at the heart of DCU campus.
