Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday urged
Chinese and
Polish legislative bodies to boost cooperation at various levels and through various channels, so as to promote the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
Xi made the remarks as he met with Stanislaw Karczewski and
Marek Kuchcinski, the speakers of
Poland's
Senate and
House respectively, in the Polish capital,
Warsaw, during a state visit to the country.
The Chinese president said that since the establishment of the China-Poland friendship, the people of both countries have been sympathizing, supporting and learning from each other, and Poland has become an important cooperation partner for
China in the
European Union as well as in the
Central and
Eastern European region.
Xi said that in his meeting with his Polish counterpart
Andrzej Duda, the two presidents reached extensive consensus on deepening China-Poland cooperation and agreed to raise the bilateral relations to an all-round strategic partnership.
The legislative organs of both countries, as an important part of the bilateral relationship as well as a key channel for people of both countries to deepen friendship and exchanges, should maintain close contact and develop multi-level, multi-channel and multi-form exchanges and cooperation so as to better promote the development of the China-Poland all-round strategic partnership, Xi said.
Karczewski and Kuchcinski welcomed Xi's visit to
Poland. They said both the
Polish Senate and House attach great importance to the Poland-China relationship and are willing to promote cooperation in economy, culture and tourism as well as to push bilateral relations to a new level in order to benefit both countries and their people.
Accompanied by both speakers, Xi reviewed the guard of honor before the meeting.
