The Department of the Treasury (DoT) is an executive department and the treasury of the United States federal government. It was established by an Act of Congress in 1789 to manage government revenue. The Department is administered by the Secretary of the Treasury, who is a member of the Cabinet. Jacob J. Lew is the current Secretary of the Treasury; he was sworn in on February 28, 2013.
The first Secretary of the Treasury was Alexander Hamilton, who was sworn into office on September 11, 1789. Hamilton was asked by President George Washington to serve after first having asked Robert Morris (who declined, recommending Hamilton instead). Hamilton almost single-handedly worked out the nation's early financial system, and for several years was a major presence in Washington's administration as well. His portrait is on the obverse of the U.S. ten-dollar bill while the Treasury Department building is shown on the reverse.
Besides the Secretary, one of the best-known Treasury officials is the Treasurer of the United States whose signature, along with the Treasury Secretary's, appears on all Federal Reserve notes.

Welcome to the Investors Trading Academy talking glossary of financial terms and events. Our word of the day is “Treasury Securities” These U.S. government-issued debt securities are divided into three categories by maturity dates: Treasury bonds mature in 10 or more years, Treasury notes mature between one and 10 years and Treasury bills mature in one year or less. These debt obligations are considered the safest option for bond investors since they are backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government. But that safety comes at a price: The interest rates on Treasury’s are lower than other bonds with the same duration. Treasury securities are divided into three categories according to their lengths of maturities. These three types of bonds share many common characteristics, but ...

From: https://www.youtube.com/user/RTAmerica September 29, 2016 - Congress recently overturned President Obama’s veto of the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA), which would allow terrorism victims’ families to sue nations responsible for the attacks. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would likely be one of the countries hardest hit by this legislation and it is threatening to sell more than $700 billion in US Treasury securities and restrict use of their airspace as a result of JASTA. Newsweek says Donald Trump's company might have violated US Law in the late 1990s, by spending thousands of dollars in Cuba without getting a treasury license. The piece says Trump Hotel executives visited the communist-run island in 1998 to meet with officials there about doing business. They spent over 68 thousand dollars on the trip, and did not appear to have obtained the necessary US treasury license to spend money in the communist-run island. The article's author says the company definitely knew what the rules were, and flouted them. Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway denied he had broken the law, citing how critical the presidential candidate is on Cuba. The country and the US restored relations last year. President Barack Obama eased some sanctions to allow more travel and com...

The US Treasury has placed two top allies of DRC President Joseph Kabila on its sanctions blacklist. They are Gabriel Amisi Kumba, a commander of the DRC's armed forces, and John Numbi, one of Kabila's advisors. Both men are said to be responsible for human rights violations by repressing opposition demonstrations against Kabila running for a third term in office. Human rights activits have welcomed the sanctions. They say taking strong action could put further pressure on Kabila to abide by the constitutional requirement to step down at the end of his term.

China is upset that other countries are utilizing foreign laws to impose long-armed jurisdiction. But the news comes after the US sanctioned a Chinese industrial machinery wholesaler with ties to North Korea's nuclear ambitions. The US Treasury imposed regulations on Dandong Hongxiang Industrial Development including four of it's executives. The firm has also been targeted by the Justice Department with criminal charges. The sanctions specifically target proliferators of mass-destruction weapon systems, like nuclear armaments. Epic long conversation with US Treasury/IRS scammers. Also guys the cell number I give them is made up but the home number is the FBI in Alaska do not call it!
