Gail Porter gives heartbreaking teary-eyed insight into alopecia and reveals her daughter's amazing advice for coping with bipolar disorder
Gail Porter broke down in tears when she explained how she's coping with alopecia, before updating The One Show viewers on her mental health.
The Scottish television personality also admitted that she feels ugly as she spoke to the BBC One programme's newest team member, portrait artist Adebanji Alade.
Alade drew and painted the 45-year-old star while she opened up about so many things, including her hair loss and her daughter's amazing views on her bi-polar disorder.
Porter said: "My daughter always says 'count to 10 and get on with it' and I do that every single day.
"When you've got bi-polar it's a ticking time bomb, nothing is in perspective and that is why I was sectioned."

In September 2011 Porter told BBC Radio 5 Live's Phil Williams that she had been detained under the Mental Health Act of 2007, she also spoke about that time in her life while on Celebrity Big Brother in 2015.

In 2005, Porter was diagnosed with alopecia and speaking of coping with the illness, Porter added: "I spend years doing magazines with people thinking I was pretty - I didn't think I was pretty, I had imagine problems in my head - but other people saw my differently.
When asked about before the diagnosis, Porter broke down saying: "I feel proud that I accepted what's happened. I feel strong and I feel privileged... but also I feel very ugly."

Alade then praised the presenter for not wearing a wig.
"As an artist when I sketch someone and they're talking, I can see resonance on their face and it helps me understand who they are and the life they've lived," said Adebanji Alade, as he interviewed the star. "Through drawing I can uncover the person behind the image."
Gail revealed that her image was never important to her growing up, saying: "I was quite a chubby kid and I never felt pretty, ever."

Gail Porter (born 23 March 1971 in Edinburgh) is a Scottish television presenter.
Porter attended Portobello High School. She studied a BTEC HND in Media Production at West Herts College. After making an unsuccessful bid to join the presentation team of the BBC children's show Blue Peter, Porter has tended to present family-friendly television programmes, or ones aimed directly at children. This includes The Movie Chart Show, Top of the Pops, and Live & Kicking, work for CITV, and other programmes such as The Big Breakfast and Gail Porter's Big 90s for VH1.
In the late 1990s she began to pose for photos in men's magazines such as FHM. Probably the best-known product of her many photo sessions is one particular still in which she is seen completely nude from behind. The image became well known due to the events of one night in 1999, when FHM, along with guerrilla marketing company Cunning Communications and projectionist/artist Malcolm Litson and Jason Bridges, beamed an enormous projection of her onto the exterior of the Houses of Parliament, with an accompanying message urging people to vote for Porter in the FHM Top 100 Sexiest Women Poll. In her autobiography, Porter claims that she did not know about the stunt until it was reported in the news the following day.

Ali G (born Alistair Leslie Graham) is a satirical fictional character created and performed by English comedian Sacha Baron Cohen. Originally appearing on Channel 4's Eleven O'Clock show, as the title character of Channel 4's Da Ali G Show in 2000 and on HBO in 2003–2004, he is also the title character of the film Ali G Indahouse. Cohen's character Ali G, along with Borat and Brüno, has been retired.
The character of Ali G is a stereotype of a white suburban male from Staines (now Staines-upon-Thames) who imitates rap culture as well as urban British and Jamaican culture, particularly through hip hop, reggae, drum and bass and jungle music. Ali G was part of a group called Berkshire Massif, and he ran and grew up in an area of Slough called Langley (both actual locations in the UK). He also lived part of his life in Staines. Baron Cohen has stated that BBC Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood was an influence on the development of the Ali G character – Westwood hosts Radio 1's Rap Show and speaks in a faux Multicultural London English and Hip-Hop dialect. Ali G's middle class credentials mirror Westwood's: the latter was brought up in Lowestoft, Suffolk as a bishop's son.

Gail Porter gives heartbreaking teary-eyed insight into alopecia and reveals her daughter's amazing advice for coping with bipolar disorder
Gail Porter broke down in tears when she explained how she's coping with alopecia, before updating The One Show viewers on her mental health.
The Scottish television personality also admitted that she feels ugly as she spoke to the BBC One programme's newest team member, portrait artist Adebanji Alade.
Alade drew and painted the 45-year-old star while she opened up about so many things, including her hair loss and her daughter's amazing views on her bi-polar disorder.
Porter said: "My daughter always says 'count to 10 and get on with it' and I do that every single day.
"When you've got bi-polar it's a ticking time bomb, nothing is in perspective and that is why I was sectioned."

In September 2011 Porter told BBC Radio 5 Live's Phil Williams that she had been detained under the Mental Health Act of 2007, she also spoke about that time in her life while on Celebrity Big Brother in 2015.

In 2005, Porter was diagnosed with alopecia and speaking of coping with the illness, Porter added: "I spend years doing magazines with people thinking I was pretty - I didn't think I was pretty, I had imagine problems in my head - but other people saw my differently.
When asked about before the diagnosis, Porter broke down saying: "I feel proud that I accepted what's happened. I feel strong and I feel privileged... but also I feel very ugly."

Alade then praised the presenter for not wearing a wig.
"As an artist when I sketch someone and they're talking, I can see resonance on their face and it helps me understand who they are and the life they've lived," said Adebanji Alade, as he interviewed the star. "Through drawing I can uncover the person behind the image."
Gail revealed that her image was never important to her growing up, saying: "I was quite a chubby kid and I never felt pretty, ever."

Gail joked that it "went down very well" with her parents.

A Pakistani man whose girlfriend threw acid on him when he spurned marrying her has died of his wounds at a local hospital, The Associated Press reported.Police official Bashir Ahmed says the man, Sadaqat Ali died at a government hospital located in the city of Multan, a central Punjab province early Tuesday ... She was arrested by police hours after the attack and has now been charged with murder in the incident....
