Dumnorix (spelled Dubnoreix on coins) was a chieftain of the Aedui, a Celtic tribe in Gaul in the 1st century B.C. He was the younger brother of Divitiacus, the Aedui Druid and statesmen. The Aedui were allies of Rome, but Dumnorix was a leader of the tribe’s anti-Roman faction, who “…thought it better to be dominated by their fellow Gauls… rather than the Romans.”
In the years preceding Julius Caesar’s governorship of Transalpine Gaul the Helvetii tribe planned a great migration from northeast Gaul to western Gaul. Orgetorix, a prominent Helvetii chieftain, conspired with Dumnorix, and Casticus of the Sequani to make themselves kings in their own tribes. Then by their combined power rule all of Gaul in a Gallic version of the triumvirate. To strengthen the alliance Orgetorix married his daughter to Dumnorix. However, the conspiracy was discovered and Orgetorix died a short time after amid rumors of suicide. Dumnorix used his influence to persuade the Sequani to allow the Helvetii to migrate through their territory.

As an adult, Vercingetorix becomes a brave and insightful warrior, and at first joins forces with the charismatic Julius Caesar. But in time Vercingetorix is betrayed by the great leader, and soon he raises an army of his own to defeat Caesar and bring Guttuart's prophesy to life.

Battle of Bibracte In the cavalry battle that followed, the Helvetii prevailed over Caesar’s Aedui allies under Dumnorix’ command, and continued their journey, while Caesar’s army was being detained by delays in his grain supplies, caused by the Aedui on the instigations of Dumnorix, who had married Orgetorix’ daughter. A few days later, however, near the Aeduan oppidum Bibracte, Caesar caught up with the Helvetii and faced them in a major battle, which ended in the Helvetii’s retreat and the capture of most of their baggage by the Romans. Leaving the largest part of their supplies behind, the Helvetii covered around 60 km in four days, eventually reaching the lands of the Lingones (the modern Langres plateau). Caesar did not pursue them until three days after the battle, while still sen...
While soldiers search for Quintus and Dumnorix, they move to the upper most part of Britain to seek out Agricola. Salvius punishes the guards of Dumnorix and sends Belimicus to find the "fugitives"(Quintus and Dumnorix). Belimicus brings back a slave of Quintus' and they roughly interrogate him. Then, after acquiring enough information on Quintus and Dumnorix, Belimicus pursues them for three days and ends up killing Dumnorix and wounding Quintus. For Mr. O'donnel Thanks for being a great supporting teacher! Have fun in South Carolina!
