Aspheric lens
An aspheric lens or asphere is a lens whose surface profiles are not portions of a sphere or cylinder. In photography, a lens assembly that includes an aspheric element is often called an aspherical lens.
The asphere's more complex surface profile can reduce or eliminate spherical aberration and also reduce other optical aberrations such as astigmatism, compared to a simple lens. A single aspheric lens can often replace a much more complex multi-lens system. The resulting device is smaller and lighter, and sometimes cheaper than the multi-lens design. Aspheric elements are used in the design of multi-element wide-angle and fast normal lenses to reduce aberrations. They are also used in combination with reflective elements (catadioptric systems) such as the aspherical Schmidt corrector plate used in the Schmidt cameras and the Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. Small molded aspheres are often used for collimating diode lasers.
Aspheric lenses are also sometimes used for eyeglasses. Aspheric eyeglass lenses allow for crisper vision than standard "best form" lenses, mostly when looking in other directions than the lens optical center. Moreover, the reduction of the magnification effect of a lens may help with prescriptions that have different powers in the 2 eyes (anisometropy). Not related to the optical quality, they may give a thinner lens, and also distort the viewer's eyes less as seen by other people, producing better aesthetic appearance.

This is the lens that I use 90% of the time, and it has held up very well. The pictures come back very sharp and the quality of the prints are very good at most focal lengths. However, there are a few things I should note about this lens that I'm not too pleased with. 1) The autofocus system is a little slow and rather noisy. 2) The zoom operates in an odd way. If I have the focus set to infinity or near it, and have it on autofocus, the zoom ring is sticky, or hard to move when I get to 28mm. If I have the same setup but put the lens on manual focus, rotating the zoom cuff will actually rotate the focus ring a small amount, until it is away from infinity. Now I don't know if this happens eventually to all of these lenses, or just mine. But this problem did not happen until several months after I purchased and used the lens.
But overall, this is a very nice lens. It is small and compact, and perfect to leave on the camera all the time. As I said before, the pictures turn out great, which is all you can ask for in a lens.

What is dependent on camera vs lens Shutter speed and ISO are camera dependent. Aperture is lens dependent and focus is a mix of camera and lens. The camera is the brains but the speed of the lens motors can affect focus.

Choosing a High end camcorder can sometimes be difficult, and made even more difficult with the high Price Tag's associated with those cameras.
Here is my breakdown of the major differences as well as the differences that could be the main deciding factors between the First Gen AX100, Second Gen AX33 and Thrid Gen AX53. Each have their pros and cons, as well as strong suits, high and low prices.
Since I'm in need of replacing my Worn out AX33 (Developed a Buffering issue that sony warranty could not repair, they are purchasing my AX33 back, though I will state until this rare issue, it gave me a flawless year of operation).
So, since I'm getting a DO-Over, I decided to test my 3 main options. I will be staying with a Sony, so my main options are the AX33 AX53 and AX100. Watch as I weigh my options, and try to decide which I wish to replace (or repurchase) my AX33 with.
I also have a series of Side-By-Side Comparison Shots to show the video quality. The Test Shots were recorded in 4k UltraHD at 100mbit, and the rendered output file was rendered at the maximum my editing software can at 200mbit to preserve the most quality possible for YouTube.
The video samples highlight low light or low lux specifically. All these cameras do amazing in the sun or good lighting conditions, it is in the low lux or low light conditions where the problems of image noise are introduced into the picture. The AX33 is the worst of them all. The AX100 "Should" be the best, and the AX53 as the runner up, though, with the larger pixels and the new lens design on the AX53, it is now a low light contender!
