Health care
Health care or healthcare is the maintenance or improvement of health via the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease, illness, injury, and other physical and mental impairments in human beings. Health care is delivered by health professionals (providers or practitioners) in allied health professions, chiropractic, physicians, dentistry, midwifery, nursing, medicine, optometry, pharmacy, psychology, and other health professions. It includes the work done in providing primary care, secondary care, and tertiary care, as well as in public health.
Access to health care varies across countries, groups, and individuals, largely influenced by social and economic conditions as well as the health policies in place. Countries and jurisdictions have different policies and plans in relation to the personal and population-based health care goals within their societies. Health care systems are organizations established to meet the health needs of target populations. Their exact configuration varies between national and subnational entities. In some countries and jurisdictions, health care planning is distributed among market participants, whereas in others, planning occurs more centrally among governments or other coordinating bodies. In all cases, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), a well-functioning health care system requires a robust financing mechanism; a well-trained and adequately-paid workforce; reliable information on which to base decisions and policies; and well maintained health facilities and logistics to deliver quality medicines and technologies.

Stefan Molyneux
Stefan Basil Molyneux (/stɛˈfæn ˈmɑːlɪnjuː/; born September 24, 1966) is a Canadian blogger. Molyneux's areas of interest include anarcho-capitalism, secular ethics, libertarianism, cryptocurrencies, and familial relationships. He is a self-published author and has spoken at libertarian conferences and on podcasts. Molyneux formerly worked in the software industry.
Background
Molyneux was born in Ireland and moved to Canada when he was about 12 years old. After attending the Glendon College of York University, where he was a member of Theatre Glendon and the Debating Society, he attended the National Theatre School of Canada in Montreal. Molyneux received a B.A. in History from McGill University in 1991 and an M.A. in History from University of Toronto in 1993.
In early 1995, he and his brother Hugh founded Caribou Systems Corporation, a Toronto-based provider of environmental database software. Stefan was the salesman for the company. The company was sold in 2000.
Molyneux was raised in the Protestant Christian tradition, however describes himself as an atheist.

Dr. Shah is the CEO of MyMeds (www.my-meds.com), a digital health company whose medication adherence platform engages patients, physicians and pharmacists to work together. Technology is disrupting consumer industries across the globe. In healthcare, technology is being used to improve systems, but the new disruption will be driven by people – patients and pharmacists. Like never before, patients are demanding consumer technologies to help them become more engaged on their changing health care team. The new team brings pharmacists off the bench and puts them in a starring role to help solve one of healthcare’s biggest issues – the $300 billion problem of medication non-adherence (not taking medicines properly). Dr. Shah is the CEO of MyMeds and a Board-certified nephrologist who practices in Minneapolis. Technology is disrupting consumer industries across the globe. In healthcare, technology is being used to improve systems, but the new disruption will be driven by people – patients and pharmacists. Like never before, patients are demanding consumer technologies to help them become more engaged on their changing health care team. The new team brings pharmacists off the bench and puts them in a starring role to help solve one of healthcare’s biggest issues – the $300 billion problem of medication non-adherence (not taking medicines properly).
Dr. Shah is the CEO of MyMeds and a Board-certified nephrologist who practices in Minneapolis. Combining his front-line experience of understanding the multiple roles (patient, provider, entrepreneur) in a rapidly-changing health environment, and his dedication to implementing digital health IT to improve health outcomes, Dr. Shah provides a unique perspective on innovation in healthcare today. He received his M.D. from the University of Minnesota Medical School, and attended Boston University, from where he graduated with a B.A. in Cognitive Psychology with a focus on memory creation. This provided the foundation on which the MyMeds adherence platform was created to improve medication-taking behaviors. He has been recognized for his work in business, medicine and philanthropy with the Virginia McKnight Binger Award in Human Service, 40 Under 40, Ten Outstanding Young Minnesotans, and Real Power.

Depuis 25 ans, le CHU Saint Pierre se reconstruit sur lui-même, ceci a été possible grâce à des principes fondateurs qui ont guidé la conception de l'hôpital :
- Une progression du plus public (boulevard de ceinture) au plus médical (en cœur d'îlot),
- Une stratification horizontale des différentes fonctions qui s'appuie sur une importante dénivellation.
- Une réinscription urbanistique claire dans le centre historique.
Les travaux ont été menés sur un terrain de centre-ville assez limité, phase après phase, sans ne jamais perdre aucune fonction médicale. Chaque phase a une durée de 3 à 4 ans et comprend la démolition d'une partie ancienne, la construction et l'équipement d'une nouvelle aile puis sa mise en service.
Ce rythme a permis, constamment, de prendre en compte de nouvelles demandes en médecine de pointe. Les compléments de programme ont permis de bâtir un hôpital "vivant" et flexible. Le site "Porte de Hal" est devenu de plus en plus aigu, les séjours des patients se raccourcissent, notamment grâce à la création d'hôpitaux de jour spécialisés.
Pendant ces travaux, l'opportunité de développer un second site, lui aussi, dans le centre historique, s'est présentée. Celui-ci reprend des activités au rythme plus lent, gériatrie, psycho-gériatrie et soins de longue durée (soins de suite). Il accueille aussi des consultations spécialisées.
Le site de César De Paepe, ancien hôpital général, a été transformé de fond en comble, tant au niveau de son équipement technique que dans la gestion de ses flux. Les étages supérieurs ont été réaménagés pour offrir des chambres confortables avec des vues exceptionnelles sur la ville de Bruxelles.
Nous souhaitons par le biais de cette conférence, insister sur la qualité de la communication entre la direction, les utilisateurs et les concepteurs qui ont rendu "réel" ce projet toujours en devenir !
