A high school (also secondary school, senior school, secondary college) is a school that provides adolescents with part or all of their secondary education. It may come after primary school or middle school and be followed by higher education or vocational training.
The term "high school" originated in Scotland, with the world's oldest high school being Edinburgh's Royal High School from 1505. The Royal High School was used as a model for the first public high school in the United States, Boston Latin School founded in Boston, Massachusetts.
The precise stage of schooling provided by a high school differs from country to country, and may vary within the same jurisdiction. In all of New Zealand and Malaysia, along with most of Britain and parts of Australia, Bangladesh and Canada, high school means the same thing as secondary school, but instead of starting in 9th grade, these "secondary schools" begin at ages 11 or 12.
In Australia, high school is a secondary school, from Year 7 or Year 8 through to Year 12, varying from state to state. High school immediately follows primary (elementary) school; therefore, a Year-7 Australian high-school student is sometimes as young as 12. In Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory, the term "high school" generally refers to Years 7–10, whereas the term "College" is used for Years 11–12. In Victoria the term "secondary college" has largely replaced the term "high school" following the reforms of the Labor Government in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Some schools have retained the name "high school" (such as Melbourne High School) and many have now dropped the "secondary" and are simply known as "college".
Show People is a 1928 American silent comedy film directed by King Vidor. The film was a starring vehicle for actress Marion Davies and actor William Haines and included notable cameo appearances by many of the film personalities of the day, including stars Charlie Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks, William S. Hart and John Gilbert, and writer Elinor Glyn. Vidor also appears in a cameo as himself, as does Davies (to a decidedly unimpressed reaction by herself in character as Peggy Pepper).
The film is a lighthearted look at Hollywood at the end of the silent film era (it was released the year after breakthrough talking picture The Jazz Singer), and is considered Davies' best role. Show People features no audible dialog but was released with a Movietone soundtrack with a synchronized musical score and sound effects. The film was re-released in the 1980s, with a new orchestral score by Carl Davis.
In 2003, Show People was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". It is currently available on DVD on-demand as part of the Warner Archive collection.
"All Good?" is the second single from De La Soul's fifth album, Art Official Intelligence: Mosaic Thump, released on January 26, 2000. It was a collaboration between the group and soul legend Chaka Khan, who sings an extended hook that leads into each verse. The song was notably popular in Europe where it received numerous remix treatments.
The song talks about people who abandoned or shunned the group after their initial commercial success and popularity took a dive, and those who attempt to hop back on the bandwagon. The title of the song is a phrase implying that something is either okay ("all good") or not okay ("it ain't all good") as sung by Chaka, during the chorus. The music video version of this song takes place at a car wash based on the film Car Wash and features a cameo appearance from actor Frank Vincent.

Curtains (E.John/B.Taupin) Originally performed by Elton John. Jeff performed it live at Mercury Lounge, New York, on December 31 1995. I used to know this old scarecrow He was my song My joy and sorrow Cast alone between the furrows Of a field no longer sown by anyone I held a dandelion That said the time had come To leave upon the wind Not to return When summer burned the earth again Oh oh oh, oh oh oh... Cultivate the freshest flower This garden ever grew Beneath these branches I once wrote such childish words for you But that's okay There's treasure children always seek to find And just like us You must have had A once upon a time

Cast and creatives from Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 discuss the evolution and success of Broadway's newest hit musical. Composer/creator Dave Malloy, director Rachel Chavkin, and stars Josh Groban & Brittain Ashford participate in this moderated discussion from Google NYC. Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 is adapted from a portion of Tolstoy's War and Peace, centered on the twin sagas of Natasha, a young socialite whose passionate affair with an officer threatens to unravel her life, and Pierre, an aristocrat experiencing an existential crisis. Their stories intertwine in this genre-bending tale of love, pity, and the power of the human spirit. More information about the show found via http://greatcometbroadway.com/.
