I realize no profit, monetary or otherwise, from the exhibition of these videos.* On 21 December 1988 Pan Am Flight 103, a Boeing 747-121 named "Clipper Maid of the Seas", was on a scheduled transatlantic flight from London Heathrow Airport to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport when there was an explosion on board. The aircraft broke up over the Scottish town of Lockerbie, killing all 243 passengers and 16 crew members. Eleven people in Lockerbie were killed by large sections of the plane which fell in and around the town, bringing total fatalities to 270. Thirteen years later, on 31 January 2001, a juryless trial convicted Libyan Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi of involvement in the bombing and sentenced to life imprisonment in Scotland and acquitted his co-defendant, Lamin Khalifah Fhimah. Megrahi's appeal was refused on 14 March 2002 by a panel of five Scottish judges but on 28 June 2007, the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission granted leave for a second appeal on the basis of evidence that a miscarriage of justice could have occurred. After a delay of two years Megrahi abandoned the second appeal, which has commenced at Edinburgh's Court of Criminal Appeal on 28 April 2009. Two days later the Scottish Government released him on compassionate grounds, as suffering from terminal prostate cancer. Megrahi died in 20 May 2012, almost three years after his release was authorised. This video therefore seeks to re-create the last few hours of Pan Am Flight 103 using footage from various sources as well as that of the Air Accident Investigation Branch's official report. I also followed a commentator's suggestion to have the textual information put on a separate screen from that of the regular video to make it easier for viewers to read. I also extended reading times significantly. P.S. YES. I did use the music from Five Nights at Freddy's 2. This was because I wanted the bomb and the bomber to have a suspenseful and threatening leitmotif, and what better than the same music that fills players with dread on the latest, popular game?
