David (/ˈdeɪvɪd/; Hebrew: דָּוִד, Modern David, Tiberian Dāwîḏ;ISO 259-3 Dawid; Arabic: داوُد Dāwūd; Syriac: ܕܘܝܕ Dawid; Ancient Greek: Δαυίδ; Latin: Davidus, David; Strong's: Daveed) was, according to the Books of Samuel, the second king of the United Kingdom of Israel, and according to the New Testament, an ancestor of Jesus. His life is conventionally dated to c. 1040 – 970 BCE, his reign over Judah c. 1010–970 BCE.
The Books of Samuel, 1 Kings, and 1 Chronicles are the only Old Testament sources of information on David, although the Tel Dan Stele (dated c. 850–835 BCE) contains the phrase בית דוד (bytdwd), read as "House of David", which many scholars confirm to be a likely plausible match to the existence in the mid-9th century BCE of a Judean royal dynasty called the House of David.
Depicted as a valorous warrior of great renown, and a poet and musician credited for composing much of the psalms contained in the Book of Psalms, King David is widely viewed as a righteous and effective king in battle and civil justice. He is described as a man after God's own heart in 1 Samuel 13:14 and Acts 13:22.
Mummy Calls were a British pop rock/power pop band based in Leamington Spa. The group is best known for their single "Beauty Has Her Way", which was prominently featured in the film The Lost Boys.
Mummy Calls were formed in 1982 and were active throughout the early to mid-1980s. The band's line-up consisted of vocalist David Banks, keyboardist Alan Bint, drummer David Everingham - replaced in 1984 by Paul Brook (formerly of Level 42), bassist Andrew Hingley (brother of Tom Hingley of the Inspiral Carpets) and saxophonist Paul Howard.
Following a bidding war, Mummy Calls signed with Geffen Records and issued their self-titled debut album in 1986.
The first single from the album, "Beauty Has Her Way", was released to critical acclaim followed by "Let's Go" which received a more lukewarm response.
The band achieved their enduring fame, however, when "Beauty Has Her Way" was used on the multi-million selling soundtrack of the vampire film The Lost Boys (Joel Schumacher 1987). The song, soundtrack and film maintain a level of cult status.
Banks or The Banks may refer to:
Doctor Who is a British science-fiction television programme produced by the BBC from 1963 to the present day. The programme depicts the adventures of the Doctor, a Time Lord—a space and time-travelling humanoid alien. He explores the universe in his TARDIS, a sentient time-travelling space ship. Its exterior appears as a blue British police box, which was a common sight in Britain in 1963 when the series first aired. Accompanied by companions, the Doctor combats a variety of foes, while working to save civilisations and help people in need.
The show is a significant part of British popular culture, and elsewhere it has become a cult television favourite. The show has influenced generations of British television professionals, many of whom grew up watching the series. The programme originally ran from 1963 to 1989. There was an unsuccessful attempt to revive regular production in 1996 with a backdoor pilot, in the form of a television film. The programme was relaunched in 2005 by Russell T Davies, who was showrunner and head writer for the first five years of its revival, produced in-house by BBC Wales in Cardiff. The first series of the 21st century featured Christopher Eccleston in the title role and was produced by the BBC. Series two and three had some development money contributed by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), which was credited as a co-producer.Doctor Who also spawned spin-offs in multiple media, including Torchwood (2006–2011) and The Sarah Jane Adventures (2007–2011), both created by Russell T Davies; K-9 (2009–2010); and a single pilot episode of K-9 and Company (1981). There also have been many spoofs and cultural references to the character in other media.

In 1996 David banks stood and tried to sell a painting I did of a future Cyberman at a convention in Blackpool. However not many were interested so he ended up buying it himself. He also auctions a Cyber-Leader helmet and chest piece and actually wears it... in so doing increasing the value by £100.00.
