After Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Amitabh Bachchan to play Hrithik Roshan’s father again!
Hrithik Roshan’s next film called Thug is said to be based on the novel Confession Of A Thug, written by Phillip Meadows Taylor in 1839 about the thuggee (an organised gang of professional robbers and murderers who killed travellers for money and valuables) cult in British India. The novel is based on the life of a real thug called Syeed Amir Ali and his father whom the author knew. A few years ago Sanjay Leela Bhansali was to start a film, Jhirni, based on the same novel, but that didn’t materialise. Amitabh Bachchan is playing Hrithik’s father in the film. Both Bhansali favourites. SLB would approve.
There was a buzz that the movie will be on the lines of “Pirates of the Caribbean” and Hrithik will be playing the part of ‘Jack Sparrow’ essayed by Hollywood star Johnny Depp. However a source denied the rumour and told Indian Express that “The film with Hrithik is not as reported. It is not on the lines of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’. The film has all elements like drama, action, humour, romance, song. It’s an action adventure film.”A formal announcement regarding the movie is yet to be made.
Hrithik’s upcoming films include Mohenjo Daro,Kaabil and Thug. While the actor has already started shooting for Kaabil, his ambitious project with Yash Raj Films, Thug, directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya (Victor) is expected to go on floors early next year.
The Bang Bang star will be seen next in Ashutosh Gowariker’s Mohenjo Daro, a period drama. He has started working on director Sanjay Gupta’s Kaabil. Also starring Yami Gautam, the project will be produced by Rakesh Roshan.
