Michelle Jacquet DeSevren Branch (born July 2, 1983) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. During the early 2000s, she released two top-selling albums, The Spirit Room and Hotel Paper. She won a Grammy with Santana for "The Game of Love".
In 2005, she formed the country music duo The Wreckers with friend and fellow musician Jessica Harp, and produced the Grammy-nominated single "Leave the Pieces". The Wreckers disbanded in 2007 to pursue their respective solo careers. Since then, she released extended plays in 2010 and 2011, and is reportedly working on another studio album.
Branch was born on July 2, 1983, in Sedona, Arizona, to David and Peggy Branch, six months after they were married. Her father is Irish, and her mother is of Dutch-Indonesian ("Indo") and French descent. Her siblings include an older half-brother named David and a younger sister named Nicole.
Beginning to sing at the age of three, Branch enrolled in voice lessons at Northern Arizona University when she was eight, and received her first guitar for her fourteenth birthday. After teaching herself chords, she composed her first song "Fallen" within a week of receiving her guitar. She initially attended Sedona Red Rock High School, but finished the last two years of her high school education through home schooling so that she could focus on her music career. To support Branch's interests, her parents helped her book local gigs in Sedona, Arizona, and later financed her independent album Broken Bracelet. Her set list at these gigs included covers of songs by Sheryl Crow, Lisa Loeb, Jewel, and Fleetwood Mac.
The Spirit Room is the major-label debut album by singer-songwriter Michelle Branch, released by Maverick Recording Company in the United States on August 14, 2001. The album was recorded at Sunset Sound, Henson Recording Studios and Ananda Studios in Hollywood, California and mastered by Stephen Marcussen at Marcussen Mastering in Los Angeles, California.
The album's title comes from the name of a bar in Jerome, Arizona, near Branch's hometown of Sedona.
In January 2002 the RIAA certified The Spirit Room gold for shipments of over 500,000 copies in the United States, and just three months later, in April, the album was certified platinum by the RIAA for shipping over one million copies. In August 19, 2011, the album was certified double platinum by RIAA for shipping over two million copies.
The Spirit Room reached number 28 on the American Billboard 200 chart and produced three Top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100: "Everywhere" (which peaked at number 12), "All You Wanted" (number 6) and "Goodbye to You" (number 21).
The Spirit is a fictional masked crimefighter created by cartoonist Will Eisner. He first appeared June 2, 1940 as the main feature of a 16-page, tabloid-sized, newsprint comic book insert distributed in the Sunday edition of Register and Tribune Syndicate newspapers; it was ultimately carried by 20 Sunday newspapers, with a combined circulation of five million copies during the 1940s. "The Spirit Section", as the insert was popularly known, continued until October 5, 1952. It generally included two other, four-page strips (initially Mr. Mystic and Lady Luck), plus filler material. Eisner was the editor, but also wrote and drew most entries—after the first few months, he had the uncredited assistance of writer Jules Feiffer and artists Jack Cole and Wally Wood, though Eisner's singular vision for the character was a unifying factor.
From the 1960s to 1980s, a handful of new Eisner Spirit stories appeared in Harvey Comics and elsewhere, and Warren Publishing and Kitchen Sink Press variously reprinted the newspaper feature in black-and-white comics magazines and in color comic books. In the 1990s and 2000s, Kitchen Sink Press and DC Comics also published new Spirit stories by other writers and artists.
Debut Album (デビュー・アルバム, Debyū Arubamu) is the debut and first studio album by Japanese singer Sayuri Ishikawa (石川さゆり). The album was released on 25 August 1973 by Nippon Columbia (日本コロムビア). Of the twelve songs in the album, four are original songs written for Ishikawa. The other eight songs are covers.
Kakurenbo (かくれんぼ) was originally released as the first single of Ishikawa with Tsugaru no Sato (津軽の里) as its B-side.
Aoi Tsukiyo no Sampo Michi (青い月夜の散歩道) was Ishikawa’s second single with Anato to Watashi no Mura-matsuri (あなたと私の村祭り) as its B-side.
The album came with a 60 cm x 30 cm centerfold portrait of Ishikawa. However, the sleeve does not credit the photographer for the portrait nor for the album’s cover photo. Even though this album was released in Ishikawa’s debut year 1973, Ishikawa is not credited with the title “Columbia Princess" (コロムビア・プリンセス), the title used by Nippon Columbia to promote the artist in her debut year.
The no symbol (also known as a prohibition sign, no sign, circle-backslash symbol, nay, interdictory circle, or universal no) is a circle with a diagonal line through it (running from top left to bottom right), surrounding a pictogram used to indicate something is not permitted. The no symbol is generally colored red, but is sometimes another color, typically black.
The Unicode code point for the prohibition sign (also called the no symbol) is U+20E0;
, Combining Enclosing Circle Backslash ( ⃠ ). It is a combining character, which means that it appears on top of the character before it, so putting d⃠ will show d⃠. (Note: This will appear only if the character exists in an available font.) It also appears in the Webdings and Wingdings 2 fonts.
There is also a prohibition sign emoji located at U+1F6AB NO ENTRY SIGN
(🚫), which does not combine with anything.
According to the ISO standard (and also under a UK Statutory Instrument), the red area must take up at least 35% of the total area of the sign within the outer circumference of the "prohibition sign". So 35% of everything within the outer edge of the "no symbol" must be the symbol itself. Additionally, for printed signs under the UK rules, the width of a "no symbol" is set at 80% the height of the area it is printed to.

The shelved album by Michelle Branch. This album was supposed to be Michelle's return to her pop/rock roots, but unfortunately it never saw the light of day. I selected the (in my opinion) best released from this era and assembled a tracklist that hopefully reflects Michelle's vision for the album. 1. Loud Music (00:00) 2. Smoke & Feathers (03:23) 3. If You Happen to Call (07:12) 4. What Don't Kill Ya (10:56) 5. Mastermind (15:08) 6. Here We Go Again (18:27) 7. Play With Fire (22:06) 8. Spark (26:12) 9. For Dear Life (29:42) 10. Through the Radio (32:51) PS I know "Play With Fire" is a Rolling Stones cover not recorded for the album, but I thought it fit the vibe well. Enjoy!
Jennifer Aniston Michelle Branch - Hotel Paper (FullAlbum) The title track of Michelle Branch’s sophomore effort, Hotel Paper, promises to extol the hardships of a touring artist but, like much of the album, it doesn’t deliver. The song’s first lines are wasted poetry (“I write mostly on hotel paper/Knowing that my thoughts will never leave this room”); not only will her empty promise undoubtedly reverberate on car stereo speakers of teens across the country this summer, the rest of the track—and album for that matter—simply treads typical lovelorn territory. Branch laments the price of B-list fame on “Find Your Way Back” (“You told me everything I wanted to hear/And you sold me”) amid sunny pop/rock melodies and bright guitar chords, while calling on guitarist Dave Navarro t...

Michelle Branch is interviewed for a German TV appearance in this 2002 clip
Michelle Branch clocked hits such as "All You Wanted," "Everywhere" and "Are You Happy Now?" back in the early '00s, and won a Grammy for "The Game of Love" with Santana. But until this year, she hadn't made an album since her duo with Jessica Harp, The Wreckers, put out 'Stand Still, Look Pretty' in 2006. She stopped by Vevo to chat about her new record, 'Hopeless Romantic," which features the video "Best You Ever." In our news interview, Branch talks about songwriting inspirations that come with "ending an 11-year marriage and dating for the first time," and "the excitement" and perils of being in a relationship." The Nashville resident worked with her friend Patrick Carney of The Black Keys, and he encouraged her to play more guitar and steer the music towards the tougher rock 'n' roll ...

My baby says she's mine all mine but I know that she's
just Lupine
Well, what can I do
She locks me in the little room so she can howl beneath
the moon
Without fear of hurting me
Well won't somebody help me please help me in this misery
Won't somebody break this spell
And send my baby down to hell
My baby says she's mine all mine but I know that she's
just Lupine
Well, what can I do?
I woke up this morning and what did I see ?
I was covered in blood my baby's lying next to me
Her throat had been ripped out
I suppose it must be true
The werewolf must be me and not you
My baby says she's mine all mine but now I know that I'm
Lupine
Well what can I do?
Yeah, now I know that I'm Lupine i have myself a real
good time
Well, what would you do?
