Derek Webster may refer to:
Derek is a male name. It is the English language short form of Dederik, the Low German form of the name Theodoric. Theodoric is an old Germanic name with an original meaning of "people-ruler".
Common variants of the name are Derrek, Derick and Derrick, more rarely also Deryck or 'Derrok'. The Dutch language short form of the same Low German / Low Franconian name is Dirk (popularised by the actor Dirk Bogarde) and the Low German Di(e)rk (Dierk Hoff).
The English form of the name arises in the 15th century, via import from the Low Countries. The native English (Anglo-Saxon) form of the name was Deoric or Deodric, from Old English Þēodrīc, but this name had fallen out of use in the medieval period. During the Late Middle Ages, there was intense contact between the territories adjacent to the North Sea, in particular due to the activities of the Hanseatic League. As a result, there was a lot of cross-pollination between Low German, Dutch, English, Danish and Norwegian. The given name Derk is found in records of the Low Countries from the early 14th century, and in the spelling Derck becomes rather common in name lists compiled in the Habsburg Netherlands during the early 16th century. An early bearer of the name Derek was lord of Keppel, Gelderland, in the early 14th century. A Derek van Keppel, lord of Verwoelde, died in 1495 and was succeeded by his eldest son, also called Derek van Keppel. A later Derek van Keppel died in 1646, succeeded by Asewolt van Keppel, the father of Arnold van Keppel, who in 1688 was created Earl of Albemarle in the Peerage of England.

First Book is a nonprofit social enterprise founded in 1992 that provides new books and educational resources to children from low-income families. First Book makes new books and other educational resources available for free and at deeply reduced prices - exclusively to educators and community program leaders who serve kids in need, from birth to age 18. To date, First Book has provided more than 125 million new books and resources to kids in need. First Book has created the largest and fast-growing network of educators and program leaders working with kids from low-income families throughout the U.S. and Canada: 160,000 strong with 6,000 joining every month.
1992: First Book was started by Peter Gold, Elizabeth Arky, and Kyle Zimmer in 1992. At the time, Kyle, then a corporate attorney, was volunteering regularly at a soup kitchen in Washington DC. During this experience, and while traveling the country while representing the Navajo nation, she met educators and community leaders working with kids from low-income families. She discovered nearly all lacked sufficient books and educational resources to ensure kids have the opportunity to read, learn and succeed. Kyle and two friends and colleagues, Liz and Peter, established First Book to provide an ongoing supply of books to those working with children living in poverty.

Skate Maloley and Derek Luh are currently trending WORLDWIDE on Twitter after a violent, bloody scuffle erupted at one of their shows. They were performing at their sold-out Skaterade Tour show at Webster Hall in New York, when it descended into a violent mess! Things got so bad that the police were called, and news crews entered the scene. Both Derek and Skate suffered various cuts and bruises – one fan even saw “gushing blood”. Apparently, the entire showdown started because of marijuana! Nate was warned against smoking weed by security, but his team did not like being told what to do. The fight quickly escalated, and Derek Luh was seen lunging towards a security guard. He was eventually dragged out as fans screamed. Security then shouted at fans to “go home”. “Out! Out!
