New York
New York is a state in the Northeastern United States and is the United States' 27th-most extensive, fourth-most populous, and seventh-most densely populated state. New York is bordered by New Jersey and Pennsylvania to the south and Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont to the east. The state has a maritime border in the Atlantic Ocean with Rhode Island, east of Long Island, as well as an international border with the Canadian provinces of Quebec to the north and Ontario to the west and north. The state of New York, with an estimated 19.8 million residents in 2015, is often referred to as New York State to distinguish it from New York City, the state's most populous city and its economic hub.
With an estimated population of nearly 8.5 million in 2014, New York City is the most populous city in the United States and the premier gateway for legal immigration to the United States. The New York City Metropolitan Area is one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world. New York City is a global city, exerting a significant impact upon commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment, its fast pace defining the term New York minute. The home of the United Nations Headquarters, New York City is an important center for international diplomacy and has been described as the cultural and financial capital of the world, as well as the world's most economically powerful city. New York City makes up over 40% of the population of New York State. Two-thirds of the state's population lives in the New York City Metropolitan Area, and nearly 40% live on Long Island. Both the state and New York City were named for the 17th century Duke of York, future King James II of England. The next four most populous cities in the state are Buffalo, Rochester, Yonkers, and Syracuse, while the state capital is Albany.

New York (Eskimo Joe song)
"New York" is the third single by Eskimo Joe, taken from their third studio album Black Fingernails, Red Wine. The band flew to New York to film the music video for the single. The music video for "New York" debuted on ABC's all night music program, Rage, as the first clip shown on 15 December 2006. "New York" was released on 3 February 2007.

Music video
The music video is unusual for Eskimo Joe, featuring lead singer Kavyen Temperley changing T-shirts. It is filmed on the streets of New York, whilst Temperley walks backward with smoke coming out of his mouth. It then pans to the band running in Central Park in a similar style to the "Who Sold Her Out" video.
Director Stuart MacLeod has commented.
After a quick mock-up at home, the logistics of donning T-shirts in real time was proving more difficult than anticipated. In frustration, MacLeod hit the rewind button and the sudden flurry of activity saw the concept morph into a music video.

New York (World Series of Football)
"New York" (also referred to as the New Yorks and the New York Philadelphians) was a term given to a professional football team formed by promoter Tom O'Rouke for the World Series of Football in 1902. The event was held in New York City at Madison Square Garden. It featured five football teams from New York and New Jersey: the Syracuse Athletic Club, Orange Athletic Club, Knickerbocker Athletic Club, Warslow Athletic Club and "New York". The "New York" team was designed and heavily favored to win the tournament. However, they were defeated in the opening game by Syracuse.
Origins
The "New York" team comprised ex-players from the recently defunct Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Athletics of the first National Football League – eight Phillies and four Athletics. It included Charlie Gelbert, Blondy Wallace, Walter E. Bachman and Ben Roller. However, the team also featured some recognizable players from New York such as Curly Davidson. By putting together a team of all-stars calling them the "New York" team, O'Rourke expected to give his New York audience the pleasure of watching the "home team" win.

New York (album)
New York is the fifteenth solo album by Lou Reed, released early in 1989. A universal critical success, it is widely considered one of his best solo albums. While the defunct Velvet Underground were at the peak of their popularity at the time, Reed's solo career had hit several lows during the 1980s, at least since his Blue Mask. However the widespread popularity of New York reignited his career to the extent that he could revive the Velvet Underground for an aborted world tour.
The album is highly regarded for the strength and force of its lyrical content, but at the time drew criticism for its perceived pedestrian, "truck driver," musicianship. Reed countered that he required simple music so that it would not distract from his frank lyrics. The single "Dirty Blvd." was a #1 hit on the newly created Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart for four weeks. Velvet Underground drummer Maureen Tucker played on two tracks.
New York contains CD Graphics that can be viewed on compatible CD players, such as karaoke machines or the Sega Saturn.

🇺🇸 New York City Subway | All the Lines
The New York City subway is the metro system with the most stations in the world and also the busiest subway system in North America. It opened in 1904 with the IRT Broadway-Seventh Avenue line. Originally, the subway was managed by multiple different enterprises, the IRT (Interborough Rapid Transit), IND (Independent Subway System), and BMT (Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit Corporation). Most of the system was built in the 1900s but the most recent expansion was the first phase of the Second Avenue Subway line. The rolling stock varies in age with the oldest one being the R44s and R46s built in the 1970s. The newest trains are the R211s which are meant to replace both R44 and R46 trains. The New York City subway is the metro system with the most stations in the world and also the busiest subway system in North America. It opened in 1904 with the...
The New York City subway is the metro system with the most stations in the world and also the busiest subway system in North America. It opened in 1904 with the IRT Broadway-Seventh Avenue line. Originally, the subway was managed by multiple different enterprises, the IRT (Interborough Rapid Transit), IND (Independent Subway System), and BMT (Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit Corporation). Most of the system was built in the 1900s but the most recent expansion was the first phase of the Second Avenue Subway line. The rolling stock varies in age with the oldest one being the R44s and R46s built in the 1970s. The newest trains are the R211s which are meant to replace both R44 and R46 trains. The MTA also has numerous plans to make quality of life improvements to the subway, such as the implementation of new fare gates and CBTC signaling. The system consists of 9 trunk lines plus shuttles and the Staten Island Railway. These trunk lines are color coded and the routes of each line are numbered or lettered. The fare per ride is 2.75$ which is an average price for an American subway system. The subway is phenomenal and I would consider it the best mode of transit in New York. Enjoy the video :)

The New York City subway is the metro system with the most stations in the world and also the busiest subway system in North America. It opened in 1904 with the IRT Broadway-Seventh Avenue line. Originally, the subway was managed by multiple different enterprises, the IRT (Interborough Rapid Transit), IND (Independent Subway System), and BMT (Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit Corporation). Most of the system was built in the 1900s but the most recent expansion was the first phase of the Second Avenue Subway line. The rolling stock varies in age with the oldest one being the R44s and R46s built in the 1970s. The newest trains are the R211s which are meant to replace both R44 and R46 trains. The MTA also has numerous plans to make quality of life improvements to the subway, such as the implementation of new fare gates and CBTC signaling. The system consists of 9 trunk lines plus shuttles and the Staten Island Railway. These trunk lines are color coded and the routes of each line are numbered or lettered. The fare per ride is 2.75$ which is an average price for an American subway system. The subway is phenomenal and I would consider it the best mode of transit in New York. Enjoy the video :)

The New York City Metropolitan Area is one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world. New York City is a global city, exerting a significant impact upon commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment, its fast pace defining the term New York minute. The home of the United Nations Headquarters, New York City is an important center for international diplomacy and has been described as the cultural and financial capital of the world, as well as the world's most economically powerful city. New York City makes up over 40% of the population of New York State. Two-thirds of the state's population lives in the New York City Metropolitan Area, and nearly 40% live on Long Island. Both the state and New York City were named for the 17th century Duke of York, future King James II of England. The next four most populous cities in the state are Buffalo, Rochester, Yonkers, and Syracuse, while the state capital is Albany.
