The Copa Iberoamericana (Spanish: Ibero-American Cup) or Copa Iberia, is a defunct football competition. It was created to face the champions of the Copa Oro and the Copa del Rey, because of an agreement signed between CONMEBOL and the Royal Spanish Football Federation.
It was disputed only once between Boca Juniors and Real Madrid in 1994, with victory to the Spanish club.
Real Madrid wins 4-3 on aggregate
Real Madrid Club de Fútbol (Spanish pronunciation: [reˈal maˈðɾið ˈkluβ ðe ˈfuðβol]; Royal Madrid Football Club), commonly known as Real Madrid, or simply as Real, is a professional football club based in Madrid, Spain.
Founded in 1902 as Madrid Football Club, the team has traditionally worn a white home kit since inception. The word Real is Spanish for Royal and was bestowed to the club by King Alfonso XIII in 1920 together with the royal crown in the emblem. The team has played its home matches in the 81,044-capacity Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in downtown Madrid since 1947. Unlike most European sporting entities, Real Madrid's members (socios) have owned and operated the club throughout its history.
The club is the most valuable sports team in the world, worth €2.5 billion ($3.4 billion) and the world's highest-earning football club for 2013–14, with an annual revenue of €549.5 million. The club is one of the most widely supported teams in the world. Real Madrid is one of three founding members of the Primera División that have never been relegated from the top division, along with Athletic Bilbao and Barcelona. The club holds many long-standing rivalries, most notably El Clásico with Barcelona and the El Derbi madrileño with Atlético Madrid.
Club Atlético Boca Juniors (Spanish pronunciation: [kluβ aðˈletiko ˈβoka ˈʝunjors]) is an Argentine sports club based in the La Boca neighbourhood of Buenos Aires. Although many activities are hosted by the club, Boca Juniors is mostly known for its professional football team which, since it was promoted in 1913, has always played in the Argentine Primera División, becoming the most successful team of Argentina with 65 official titles won to date. National titles won by Boca Juniors include 31 Primera División championships, and 12 domestic cups. Boca Juniors also owns an honorary title awarded by the Argentine Football Association for their successful tour of Europe in 1925.
Internationally, the team has won a total of 22 international titles, with 18 recognized by FIFA and CONMEBOL. According to that, Boca is ranked second in the world for number of international titles won, together with A.C. Milan and Real Madrid C.F., and behind Al Ahly SC with 20 titles. Boca Juniors' international achievements also include Tie Cup,Copa de Honor Cousenier and Copa Escobar-Gerona, organized jointly by the Argentine and Uruguayan Associations.
