December 2010 Update
We are an anarchist book collective based in Melbourne, Australia and offer a full mail order service. We have been meeting and working together since 1992.
We take our collective name from the novel The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin. Anarres is the name of a planet which is organised as an anarchist society.
Our main website is undergoing re-development but will be re-launched in early 2011. Please email info[at]anarres[dot]org[dot]au for further information.
We stock many Freedom Press publications and a smaller number of titles published by AK Press, New Society Publishers and (fiction) titles from the now defunct III Publishing (1989-1999).

Anarres Books is an anarchist collective based in Melbourne, Australia which supplies anarchist and other radical reading material to a local, national and international audience.
The collective has been active since 1992, but has recently undergone a change in composition.
Most of our titles are imported from the UK and the US, and are sold at non-profit prices.
We currently stock most Freedom Press (UK) titles, and a large number of AK Press (UK/US) titles.
