Keryn ~ Port Macquarie

Hello my name is Keryn. I am a registered nurse/paramedic. I have for the past few years been working as a nurse in Tamworth, NSW. My partner and I moved to Port Macquarie 10 months ago for his work. I work casually as a registered nurse currently and babysit for families regularly and casually.

Before attending university I obtained my certificate III in children's studies and worked in a district preschool with 3, 4 and 5 year olds. I also babysat children from newborn to 13 year olds. I completed 12 months of an early childhood degree before completing my nursing and paramedic degrees. Whilst studying I was a nanny for two boys aged 9 and 11. I also babysat casually for a few families with children aged 3 months to 10 years old. I have also worked with children and people with disabilities and as a nurse have cared for people of all varying ages.

I am able to and enjoy cooking, cleaning, arts and crafts, sports, reading, swimming and walking. I was brought up on a cattle farm in Orange, NSW and love the outdoors and am hard working, willing to learn and a fast learner.

I haven't included a rate of pay as I think it important for the family I am employed by to be involved in determining that figure.

Jessica ~ Port Macquarie

Hi there!
I have worked in a long day care setting for the past 10 years - since completing my Certificate 3 in Children's Services - and have been a regular babysitter for various families over the past 15 years.
I have worked with children from the age of 6 weeks to 7 years, and also have a 15 year old sister and 18 year old brother who I frequently cared for as they were growing up, including over nighters.
I have always enjoyed spending my time with children - helping them to develop, learn through fun experiences, and grow into mini adults. In my time at centres I have set programs to assist in children's development and planned and implemented activities to encourage their skills. I have also worked with children with varying levels of disabilities in my years and am confident in caring for all children of all ages.

In 2011 I took on a nanny role twice, as two different families I regularly baby sit for went over seas. Both families had two children and were between the ages of 14 months and 5 years. During this time I was doing drop off and pick up for all children, and took them to after school activities etc.

I moved to Port Macquarie from Sydney 2 years ago. I am currently working for a family full time, but I am still available for occasional babysitting, overnighters and weekends.

I am a non smoker, hold a current Senior First Aid certificate, full driver's licence, and have my own car.

I offer positions for children aged 6weeks to 12years of age.

I feel that children need the structure of routine activities and I have developed a daily routine plan which is based upon The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia BELONGING, BEING & BECOMING. I implement activities from my program to support individual children's strengths and encourage them to learn and expand in different areas.

My aim in working with Children is to provide a safe, supportive and nurturing environment allowing children to learn and play while still having the security of an "at home" atmosphere.

I complete a Weekly Book and have this displayed in my service. This allows you a look at what your child has done during their time in care, and provides you the opportunity to ask questions or add comments. I also gather information - artworks and record observations on each individual child and present that to the families at the end of year.

Felicity ~ Port Macquarie

I have a passion for educating and assisting children's development. I am currently studying a course that will allow me to teach from 0-13 years of age. I have also previously worked in positions that enabled me to teach children of all ages. Through my positions at a school and an equestrian centre I have been able to further practice my skills that I have learnt in the lecture theatres.
